  • Motorhomes leak when they get old but the cost of repairs is probably more than the vehicle itself so spend £25 on a tin of garage roof repair paint and fix your problems for good.

    Exactly the demo I was looking for! Not a short-cut, not a pro-job. Not patronizing, not technical-complex. Exactly to-the-point. Useful. Entertaining.

    This stuff was a game changer, I had previously changed all the seals, re did all the rail seals and still kept having a leak which just appeared on the top of one of the windows in my office converted caravan. I suspected it might be a slight crack in the fibreglass but could not find it no matter how much I searched and tested. Followed this video and the leak is gone. Have already recommended to a neighbour who has a leaking garage roof and he has used it to fix that. Truly great product.

    Great info, thanks. Will attempt this when or if there is a summer's day this year. Can you also do a follow up with guidance on cleaning skylights.

    Hello again so sorry to be a pain. I’ve done the roof with cromapol (they sent the black not the white) but I’ve had negative comments from people who are saying it will come away in heat in summer? Please tell me this isn’t true because I did it yesterday and we had heavy rain last night and it’s worked. It’s all dry inside

      It will not come away I did my shed roof with the black. over a year ago and we had some very hot days this summer it's been fine. Don't worry

      Hi Bob, my roof is aluminium I don't know about application on fibreglass, it would be worth contacting cromapol or whoever makes it

    Hi, I was wondering how your motorhome roof fared over winter? Did it get any more of the usual green mould due to the fibrous finish?

    great video..helped alot..I guess the size of your 5KG tin would be around the size of a 5ltr tin of paint?

    • @MrMikesx13
      @MrMikesx13  4 года назад +1

      I would guess so, I used way too much initially, 5kg should have easily covered the whole roof

    Hi Mike
    Thanks for the info,can I ask is there a reason why yo did not use a roller, also what was the size and strength of your paint brush please.
    🐧🐧

    • @MrMikesx13
      @MrMikesx13  3 года назад +2

      It would be like trying to spread treacle with a roller, it doesn't roll. The best paintbrush for this is one you're happy to chuck at the end of the job but I used a normal emulsion brush and I guess 3"

      Lapped over the edge rail on the horizontal right to the edge before it drops down the side of the van

      Van now sold but Cromapol was excellent. Would recommend a few coats and you can get a smoother finish with a bit more time and patience.

      I’m not bothered about what it looks like, only police helicopters can see my roof lol. If I bought 10 litres of this stuff and layered it on over the whole of my van do you think the leaks would stop. It’s getting on my wick now. Would you ring me later to talk me thru it

      I shared what I did on van life uk group on FB and most people were positive but a few were negative and quite mean. Now I’m worried. I did it yesterday and it rained heavily last night and I just checked inside and it’s bone dry. Someone said it will crack off in summer when it gets heat on the roof? Are they correct? Thank you in advance

    Hi mike is your roof fibreglass or aluminium ?

    • @MrMikesx13
      @MrMikesx13  3 года назад +6

      It's aluminium, not sure about application on fibreglass but it seems to stick to most stuff including North Face coats.
