Strange. The music used in the Natwest advert always reminded me of their logo, or triangles. When I was a kid, I used to call it the "Triangle music". I wonder if when I was a baby, I saw it on TV and it just stuck in the back of my mind somehow?
“This is just one big boys club isn’t it?,does the high interest rate and late fees I pay fund this orgy?,do you two shag each other’s brains out while I’m waiting to get my own money out?😡…”
I love the Nat West ad. The fact they were endorsing the physical presence of a bank and the cash machine too, bearing in mind the direction it's all going in at th emoment. And endorsing the meeting of your next girlfriend at work. Pop culture was more reflective of a life that was more real back then. Definitely better times.
the intercity advert used to scare the shit out of me! i hated the shoe bending the pingu moving from the book and the chess pieces sighing!!! years on i still find it hella creepy!
3:58 the voice of the enigmatic Leon Redbone. The dude made more money singing on commercials than selling records. 1:56 yet another advertisement where a handsome guy walks past a grizzled old-timer sitting in front a cafe/general store. ;)
@shinyhunk - I wonder what became of the young lady ? Pension fund manager, Forex trader perhaps ! (I am equally curious as to who and what became of the actress who played her ?).
Wonder if chat back is still running? Was it like the RUclips commets section of the day? Did people call up and bombard each other with fake news and try to Stoke racial tensions
Watching these old ads UK how times were so simple back then and how people were so simple and their talking such a lovely times.
The natwest advert at the beginning is nostalgia overload. The music. Wow.
I remember in 1991 watching it as a kid. First time I heard ''Crockett's Theme''.
Haha I remember those wrigleys ads!
Just experienced sensations I haven't felt since.. well 1991
Thanks, Dan you're a legend. Hearing the old Natwest theme made the hairs on my neck stand up!

That Citroen ad is fascinating - a real headtrip. That seems to be the theme for car adverts of this era.

"Do you fraternise with the other members of staff at Nat West?"
"Of course we do, it's not all work, work, work."
"In latest news, a man has been jailed for 'historic offences' while working for Natwest as a teen."
“This is just one big boys club isn’t it?,does the high interest rate and late fees I pay fund this orgy?,do you two shag each other’s brains out while I’m waiting to get my own money out?😡…”
If that was you who put £20’s in the tenner compartment in my local cash machine, god bless you son, I had an amazing night 👍

Love the bank ad! Love that tune too.
Same. I wonder if Natwest used that tune for a while? Also I wonder what its called.
Good adverts from 1991 including the Intercity one directed by Tony Kaye, originally made in 1988.
I was twelve years old when these were shown
Me too!
Still love that wrigleys add.
the intercity advert used to scare the shit out of me! i hated the shoe bending the pingu moving from the book and the chess pieces sighing!!! years on i still find it hella creepy!
Simple times. Plenty of bank branches around and easy access to cash. Things now seem so much more impersonal. Sighhhh
It's been 22 years since I saw it and it's still too soon!
1:25 Looks like he’s borrowed that suit off his dad.
Looks like he borrowed it off Prof. Chris Whitty

Wrigleys used to come in handy at the weekends back then.
That's correct, it's short for advertisement.
The natwest theme is actually from miami vice by Jan hammer
3:58 the voice of the enigmatic Leon Redbone. The dude made more money singing on commercials than selling records.

I remember these, what with being 12 at the time.
Most welcome :)
I was happy to hear Crockett's Theme in the NatWest commercial.
I mind tryin to do that with my cereal. Lol covered the kitchen floor😂😂😂
To think now In 2022 banks are phasing out ATMs
US commercial in the UK for Gum and cereal lol.
These are proof that bank commercials everywhere are sentimental 😂
That sound of tartar being scraped is horrible...

0:27 Ah yes, Crockett's Theme song from Miami Vice 😍
Thanks man.
'I'm still quite junior...' If he was a real guy i'm gueesing he'd be the assistanct manager, maybe even the manager by now!
@shinyhunk - I wonder what became of the young lady ? Pension fund manager, Forex trader perhaps ! (I am equally curious as to who and what became of the actress who played her ?).
If only they milk was still around in cans
Adverts before all the political correctness... Bliss
wheeeeeeey Happytime!
I knew Crockett's Theme was used by NatWest! They should bring it back. Alton Towers Adverts still use In The Hall Of The Mountain King.
When do you improve Runcorn Cheshire?
The natwest ad looks like it was filmed in Liverpool if so I wonder where about?
+John Wrigley It's Castle Street, Liverpool. It's still there now.
+SiThompson1 Thank you
By the Liverpool town hall I always walk by it
Who were the sad sacks phoning "Chatback"
I remember buying milk in a can from a vending machine in a car park, around this time. You just wouldn't even consider it now...disgusting.
Anyone know the name of the tune in the Natwest ad?
The crocketts theme
Jan Hammer - Crocketts Theme
Who's the actress in the Crest ad? I recognize her but can't remember her name...
