I first heard this song when i was a teenager and im 46 yrs old now but there has been just something about this song that grabbed ahold of me and i have always loved it and always will.... i cant even explain how it makes me feel when i hear it but its something that i have never felt before and to this day still nothing has made me feel this way!!!!
I remember hearing this song on a blank cd I had found in my uncles truck one time. I must've been about 7 years old. I always skipped it for some reason. I ended up losing the cd somehow at one point some time after that but Id always catch myself humming the guitar melody on the intro every once in a while. To the point that I had to find out what it was called. I didn't know the lyrics though due to me always skipping the song before it got to the 10 sec mark. Anyways, about a couple years ago I was working nightshift at a gas station and it came on the radio. I pulled out shazam and felt very satisfied at finally figuring out the name of this song.

I'd had the Air Canada music channels on, after an episode of Young Sheldon, and Rocky. Up all day flying from Manchester (England) to Toronto. The channel said 60s and 70s music, Stingray Music, but this played. I liked it.
Been there and done that and thank God now it is time for me to let it go and move on. 🥲 It's a tough road to have to follow and I'm praying for anyone who is still on that path. ❤🙏🙏🙏
I sleep all day because I'm sad and just don't feel right here. I think that's kinda what that first part is. As for the second part, I think it's about seeing everyone around you being a bit more cheery in the spring (the music video highlights that) and being bitter or jealous of the happiness you see around you. I've felt that way before. I kinda came to the conclusion that it's okay to feel that way, but it's not okay to take it out on others just because they have what you struggle so hard daily to obtain. It's so hard not to be bitter sometimes, but I am what I am and it's up to me to change that. At times I've had to ask for help, and there's no shame in that in my book. Just always look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself if you're doing your best. If you can do that every day, get better every day in some small way, start looking at yourself in a new way with love and respect for the effort you're putting forth, you'll be just blown away by how amazing your life will quickly become. It's always a struggle though. It's hard to maintain. I've had to go through the cycle a few times but I'm glad I did it because I might have missed out on some amazing experiences if I had just given up like I wanted to so many times.
I'm usually of an expansive perspective, accepting the possibilities of the universe and it's vast, complicated mechanisms, but this song is simply soothing to the soul for someone who's seen too much.
