- Two of Jeff's solos are transcribed (with a complete analysis) in my book "The Magnificent 7" that features some of the finest drummers in jazz music today ("Cardboard" (from David Kikoski's album "Surf's Up") and "Freedom Suite - Movement 2" from Branford Marsalis's album "Footsteps of our fathers").
This book includes 14 solo transcriptions of the master jazz-drummers from our time.
The book is available on my website www.dusanmilenkovic.com

WOAH!

I think my dad was saying, he has more feel....believe it or not😊
Fuckin beautiful solo branford 😎
In the key of C for tenor.
no
Crazy,...my dad said he's was even better than wynton idk
Compared to Vodville and a few others, that is a pretty mediocre solo in this video by Tain's own peerless standards. I think it highlighted that he didn't keep his hi-hat going heel toe on the two and the four in the bar in the solo as much as he should have. It is early in his career too. It is very musical though. When Jeff solos on Vodvill and a few others, I think he is the greatest drummer of all time. Jeff combines incredible technique, power, musicality, complex mixed sticking and finesse. Buddy Rich, Thomas Lang, Mike Mangini, Max Roach, Elvin Jones and Ginger Baker - all in one.
I should also mention Jeff's great swing.
@@brewbeer5569 Oh yes. Jeff Watts swing together with bassist Eric Reevis back in the day was so good it hurt!
nooo not the hi hat 😨😰
Mangini, Lang and Jeff Watts in the same sentence, wow, what are you smoking man ?
I mean, I respect their technic abilities on drums but damn...
People really just get on the internet and write anything lol
