4:13 always makes me smile!! I know Chad can play lots of crazy crazy stuff but it's like hearing a snippet of the past, it actually makes the ending of that lick so fulfilling AND swinging. haha idk just sounds so real and nostalgic. There are plenty of other good stuff in this session but I just needed to appreciate that part :) I do not play jazz don't kill me

I enjoy chad's improvs...I posted the Eddie Daniels video just to show an older approach to the tune with some extensive improvs for the time happened.....the song is the same....the harmonies of the songs is the same...STOMPIN is an old jazz standard....yeah some alternative chords can replace some of the original ones....that is how music progresses.....I don't view the two versions as COMPETITION, they are two distinct jazz versions of an old standard....one is just a newer version....a version in 10 years by some hot shot player will no doubt be different then too
