Could you imagine being there, seeing and hearing this in person.? LORD HAVE MERCY.!!! WOW.! it's like effortless for these cats, like magic.Im seeing it hearing it and can't believe this was captured live in a club.Man this is so special. THANK you for sharing this.
Oh, Jeff... This is painful. In the best way. Ouch. Thank you... The right drums, the right note durations, fade characteristics - my heart, soul and brain are bleeding. But it's perfectly okay - thank you for this...
Interesting how you actually can hear that Oz is mostly a straight player and Dave and Jeff come more from the Triplet feel. To me it seems like neither Jeff nor Oz struggle to be themself during the Guitar solo. Dave is connecting great to Jeff during Pianosolo and Jeffs solo after trades is just insane. So to say, 2 Worlds clashing, hosted by the Gen(i)us. But where worlds clash there is so much potential for new great stuff, so hopefully we see more
Love it . Wish I had been there, used to be a bar tender called Zach ? There in 2002 , he told me he wanted to get into acting or film scripts? I hope his dream became a reality ? Dave kikoski looks like a member of the Rouges ? From the Warriors . But maybe older and rehabilitated and now a successful musician. But the 55 could be near to the Gramercy Riffs turf ?
The keys are FANTASTIC, BTW - keeping it all together, harmonically, and rhythmically, but without getting in the way of the dance that the lead guitar and drums are are wearing out to the point of sleeping together...
If any musicians, who actually know great musicianship, would see this, they would probably burn their respective instrument. I thought I was a guitar player until I seen this. I'm just going to kick back and leave it to players like this who were truly touched by God.
they are amazing but I reckon they would advise you to keep doing what you love :)

Silly comment. Just take Krantz's advice which I paraphrase here: "if someone is doing something amazing, that's great because you don't need to do it yourself, just find a different amazing thing to do"
This is a disaster band. Rhodes player’s comping is mental. Tain and Genus think they’re better than this. Noy is in the middle thinking, what the fuck have a booked.
RUclips Gold right here...thanks for sharing.
I have two new favourite drummer Jeff and Ralph Peterson. I thinks it’s much about me still developing my musical taste.....I’m 73!
Came for the drums and as a guitar player I stayed for the drums.
God loves you

I sat 2 seats to the left at the 55 bar, right in front of David in Dec 21, with the same lineup but had Lenny White on drums. Absolutely Spectacular!
i went to several jason lidner big band dates in the 90s, so yes i can imagine being there.
Looks like Jeff was watching the Lakers on TV while soloing. Yeah, man.
...sehr gut, weiter so guys!
Thanks for posting... That was most enjoyable.
Thanks for commenting, so glad you enjoyed it.
que combinacion espectacular, gracias por compartir este video!!!!
this keyboardist loves jeff tain watts drumming ! he's right too, mr watts is absolutely a GREAT drummer!!!!
David Kikoski is definitely no slouch either! All of these guys are heavyweights (and their credits reflect this).

Oh, so good. None of you is getting in the way... Exactly... Nice! It's a beautiful conversation - that's what it's supposed to be... What a night...
The attacks are different when informed by Prog, Funk, Soul, Rock and Roll... Damned smart...
Real players right here ,
monster keys ...real deal

This is good. Really, really good...
that was cool when the bass player drank some beer during the drum solo
Buenisimo...!

The 55Bar NYC
guitarist is slamming
Great comping by David Kickasski. Oz Annoy doesn’t do much for me though
Tain never had it so easy. Very Basic Music. You'd never know it from the keyboard player's face. You'd think he was free-climbing El Capitan.
exactly the keyboardist everyone hates.
I love David Kikoski!
David Kikoski really thinks that spasms equal jazz.
WTF was that. Please lets get back to the music before we all perish.
am i the only one who thinks that it s horrible?
Yes, just you.
Yes
You have every right to think it's horrible, but fortunately it's not, now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
