  • EPIC 30 MIN SHAD FISHING CHALLENGE!!! | Bonneville Dam 2022
    On this week's episode I head down to the Columbia River to the Bonneville Dam in North Bonneville, WA to go shad fishing! During this absolutely epic time of the year we get the amazing opportunity to go fishing for and to target American Shad as they make their way into the Columbia River and past the Bonneville Dam. Since the fishing was so insanely epic, I decided to set a little challenge for myself to prove if the infamous Shad Dart really is the best lure to catch shad. It went head to head against a similar looking Crappie jig, each for 30 minutes, to see which could catch more. I hope you guys enjoy this epic 30 minute shad fishing challenge at the Bonneville Dam! Be sure to sit back, relax, and don't forget to subscribe!

    Fish are stacked down there I don’t even use shad darts anymore, just barbless hook with few shiny beads,

    I thought I left a fun challenge comment, but I guess not. Thanks! Fun challenge! Good to know the crappie jigs are at least as effective if you switch out the hooks!

      Yeah! haha I was so shocked I got one like the second I took off the grub. Also all my GoPro audio got trashed so you didn’t get to see my reactions or the fact that I hooked like 10 in the last 5 minutes of the challenge for the crappie jig but all them came off haha

    The traffic in Seattle all the way to Portland is always hectic, I always hated driving that corridor. Especially as a roadside assistance tech.

      @@BrianMonticello Yeah there's good fishing in that area. I've been busy dealing with my health and 7 new puppies. I've got my catch card for this year though so I would like to do some steelhead, salmon, and keeper sturgeon fishing this year.

    Nice footage. I caught 60+ two weeks ago and best luck with small shad darts with some fly presentation. It kills.

    how heavy is that dart, 1/8 oz or 1/16 oz?

  • @WAFishQuest
    @WAFishQuest 3 года назад

    Yep they're invasive, but don't appear to compete with salmon because of their spawn timing and that they're broadcast spawners.
