    You know how many times I tried this transition ? So many, and it always ended up badly ! I’ve been working on it for ages, I watched tons of videos…
    Then I found this video (and your channel, and you basically), and I did it ! I did it and after two hours of practice, I can even say that I do it smoothly now ! You have no idea how happy I am, you are a fantastic teacher and I can’t thank you enough !

      Yay! I’m so happy for you! Well done! Sometimes it’s just that one thing that makes it click! Well done for putting in the work! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕

    OMG. I've been practicing open book turns for months and could only do it on one side. I can now do both because of you. Thanks so much for your video. I'm so happy!

    Katie, you work literal miracles, and turns out (lol) I've been trying to get all 4 wheels planted on the ground while turning for a week for NOTHING.
    Thank you, as always, for your wisdom and clarity

      So glad it helped. It’s so often just these little moves which are hard to see at speed that make all the difference. Glad you unlocked it! 😎🤩💕

    Bless you 😭 I can skate forwards, backwards, on one leg, and ever do crossovers, but the open book transition escaped me until now

    This! Exactly what i need!
    I started skating in April, and got the forwards and backwards quite naturally. But that turn!
    Now i see what to do and how to do it so thanks a billion! Now it might work.
    Cant wait to try it out next skate!
    Your videos are the best 🧡😊

    Thank you! ❤ Funny how that “lift and place your foot in this unnatural position” bit wasn’t working for me.

    Hi Katie! Your videos are always so helpful!! Do you know how to do the London style backwards skating called “chopping and shuffling” ? And if so, would you make a video on the mechanics of it please 🙂

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  Год назад +1

      Shuffle skating is amazing. Chopping is like backwards pulls but it’s done with a lot more bounce and “chop”. I’ll see what I can do.

    I struggled hard when trying to learn the turn precisely in the part when you have to lift the foot
    Somehow, my brain managed to translate de movement to pivots and I can confirm it's been way more easy for me, however, I haven't seen many videos with this technique, so thanks a lot 💙

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  Год назад +1

      Glad you got it locked in. I think a lot of skaters do that toe manual without realising. Definitely makes it more fluid.

  • @davidmil15
    @davidmil15 Год назад +2

    The heel variation is the one that feels more natural for me somehow.

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  Год назад

      That one always feels a little out of control for me. Perhaps I’m just used to it with the toe manual. Have lots of fun. Glad you’ve found a technique that works for you.

    Thanks for this! Being pigeon toed this kind of transition is killing me, I can’t get my feet at the correct angles and it’s stunting my progress. I’ll work on it using this method.

    • @Skatie

    A Mohawk on quads the easy way. I'm still not ready for prime time yet. Very very slow. I visited the local (33 miles) roller rink. They have adult size training aids when the time comes. I wanted to get my own but they won't allow anyone to bring theirs.

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  Год назад +1

      Careful with those skate aids. I see people start to fall backwards and then grab on to the skate aid and fall backwards and hit their head on the floor. ⛑️ 🤕

    In my head I’m doing this…but in my videos…I look like a robot 😂….I’m ready for smooth transitions!!

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  Год назад +1

      It will get more fluid the more comfortable you feel. Work through it static so your feet can muscle memory it before you try it moving.
