Thanks for sharing your review. I'm in the market for a small EDC flashlight. There's so many to choose from I'm watching lots of videos to see which one is going to fit my particular needs.
I use a flashlight at work every day so I thought I may as well let people know how they work. BTW this one works GREAT! I really like it, but only if it has the rechargeable battery. With a regular AA it is nothing special.
@@bladesandedc I hear you .. I use mine all the time. No one carries a flashlight anymore because of phone lights, but try working with both hands and using a phone light 😂. Does it have a lanyard hole? I always attach mine to a carabineer.
@@dprofessorscritters8762 It has 2 small slots by the button that I think are meant for a keychain, but I doubt you could get a 550 cord lanyard in it.
You sure the blue glow in the tail switch is a power indicator light? Many reviewers claim it is simply a glow light for easy location in the dark. Some reviewers complain this is an unnecessary feature, which drains the battery.
Just got the new Lumintop Frog over the weekend and it's awesome and it was on sale for Father's day . I got it for $23.50 and I bought the extension tube for it that is AAA size. It's super nice and has a ton of programs on it. The new Olight iXV is very nice but this little thing destroys it and it's even smaller. You can get a few different tube lengths for it that makes it a full size and more power. this Frog is the do it all because of the different tubes you can get and each size bigger makes it a more powerful output. I like it better than the Nano GT because it's better in the pocket. I may end up getting the double AAA size for it also and I think there is a triple AAA size tube also
@@bladesandedc It's pretty bad ass all that can be done with this little keychain light that can be a full length light also. I'm glad I got it on sale because $23.50 is a steal and all the programs on this thing makes it super fun. I'm going to upgrade to more powerful rechargables and that will probably make it even more high output. It should be called Lil Beast
Id be curious (btwn the Lumintop and an Olight) which one gets hotter after extended runtime...? I assume the Lumintop is lighter because the walls of the body are thinner? Assume theyre both made of Aluminum?
They are both aluminum. I just turned both on to their medium setting and will let them run for about 15 minutes and will let you know which gets hotter.
After about 10 minutes the olight is getting much hotter. The entire body of the olight is warm and around the led it is very warm. The lumintop is just slightly warm near the led and the body is staying cool. The lumintop is the clear winner. It isn't even close.
Ummmm ....anyone looking at dual-feul (AA/14500 rechargable) is buying it BEcause IT can RUN AA!! Ususally in an emergency e.g. when the 14500 looses it's charge. And as an EDC light (close-up and mid-range use....up to 20 feet) we don't need 650 lumens or even 350....)...but YES it is nice to be able to get up to 650 lumens (brief fursts). ...it's price makes it worth it as well....4 lumnens modes with a 14500 (blck version).
I use mine on a daily basis clipped to the bill of my hat and carry an extra rechargeable battery. In the long run for daily use rechargeable is the way to go. Buying AA batteries would get very expensive.
You can swap ends with the bezel and the tail cap if you don't want to pull the clip off and change ends with it.

I'm glad you do flashlight reviews too. I've got ...like 20 EDC lights and they never hold up...even my favorites.

Great video Jamie. That is a pretty darn good looking flashlight.

This is the first I have heard of the Frog, but I really want to check it out now. Thank you for the info!

I got the white one with the 920 mah battery in it but the tail switch still doesn’t turn blue… light works still but tail switch is not lit up blue
Nice little light. I just discovered the dapper EDC full titanium that I like. It is a little more compact though.
I think that one is about the size of the ReyLight mini pineapple right?
@@bladesandedc yes, or the i3t but a touch shorter.

Don't you get a laynyard a diffuser and a magnetic tailcap?
Mine did come with a lanyard, but not a diffuser or magnetic tail cap. My Lumintop EDC did come with a diffuser, but no magnetic cap either.

Are you sure you're linking to the correct battery on Amazon? The battery there is not a 14500 and it's significantly larger than an AA.
A 14500 is a rechargeable AA. I think you may be thinking of a 18650 which is much larger.
