I skate in Trues, both Cat9s and HZRDUS 9Xs. The one thing I'd like to see is an actual low-volume True skate. The adjustable tongue is really only a bandaid.
100% agreed, thinking of getting customs, purely for low volume but it's a bit much. Genetix insole and lower tongue adjustment only lasts for so long.
@@robertasmith5000 I don't have this latest version, but in the previous version, they really don't seem that much different. I can switch back and forth without any trouble but the cats might feel a little softer.
@@wheelsupbardownI had a similar question….Im a fatty beer leaguer and Ive had the full True Customs and recently went to the Cat Pros. I love them but was thinking about trying the HZRDUS 9x or Pros next. Do you notice enough of a difference?
Question, the Junior level 9x4 is marketed as having the same carbon fiber one piece shell along with the new Genetix insole... Upon inspecting the skate it's clear it's more comparable to a 5x4.. is this true?
New line up is super confusing. So no more Pro custom option? 7x4 is now the same as the previous top end ‘9’ model (like the TF9, Cat 9, and Hzrdus 9) and is actually identical to the 9x4 just with different steel and insoles (and an uglier blue color)? I don’t get why they didn’t just go the CCM/Bauer route of having customers choose their steel/insoles rather than make a completely separate model (less skus and issues for retail stores to deal with too). Especially when the price difference between the 7x4 and 9x4 is about $300, but you can buy the Genetix insoles and DLC steel for less than that on True’s website. It also seems strange True would throw away all their model naming conventions that they’d spent the last 4 years building. Not to mention jack up prices by a sizeable amount. I’m glad they at least claim to have fixed the heel cracking and rivet issue which were an issue with the TF9 and even worst on the Catalyst 9
Pro is still an option, the top of the line stock '9' model is essentially a new price point with the DLC steel and Genetix insole, whereas the 7X4 essentially has the same level of specs as the 9X3. I am looking forward to seeing how the reinforced heel and underfoot play out this year. Once they dial in the durability, they'll be set! Chase at IW Hockey
Misconception that the 7x and 9x are identical other than insole and steel. 9x uses carbon fiber one piece shell but the 7x uses carbon composite. Looks the same but technically it's not. Not sure why the reps are all saying the only difference is the steel and insole. Even the catalogue describes the shell as being different
Anyone using a improvised tool other than the tool provided by True to remove the blade? My pair of Hzardus is so stiff that it's nearly impossible to loosen the blue trigger and release the steel
Exactly what @sand_is_greaney said, the skate lace trick is killer. They do include a new tool this year that is quite easy to use too. Chase at IW Hockey
Came here to make sure they have an E-lite le-vel protection. For that e-lite le-vel player.
TRUE skates are absolutely a cheat code.

@@HYP3DSNIP3R Powerfoot inserts helped the feel a lot, so I'd suggest trying them, but still want a true low volume.
How do these compare to the Hzrdus line!

Is the tendon guard still held in by a rivet?
It sure is!

as he said three times, THREE TIMES MAN! no patience.
Why are they called 3 to 9 x 4 what do those numbers mean
For the 9X4, the 9 signifies the price point and the 4 signifies the year!
