Real McCoy went to #1 on the club charts with “Another Night” and had other club hits with “Run Away”, “Come And Get Your Love”, “Automatic Lover (Call For Love)” and “One More Time”.

Good afternoon, Amber and Jay! Hope you are well. I wanted to share a story with you about Barry White. He was in a gang with his brother and at age 16 he went to jail for stealing tires. While in jail, he prayed to God for a second chance to do better and in the distance at that moment he heard “It’s Now Or Never” by Elvis Presley. He took it as a sign and after getting out of jail he started his music career. He later bought a house for his mother which he promised. Yesterday I made some suggestions for the 1980s and today I’ll give some from the 1970s. These are songs I really think you’ll enjoy. 1) “Outta Space”-Billy Preston (trust me, you’ll both LOVE it) 2) “Sad Eyes”-Robert John (first time I heard this I thought it was Bee Gees) 3) “Teenage Kicks”-The Undertones (imagine a combination of Cheap Trick and Weezer) 4) “In The City”-The Jam (mod punk rockers from the UK) 5) “Fresh As A Daisy”-Emitt Rhodes (very Paul McCartney meets Billy Joel vibe)
@@jsdwta I wish I could have a dime for every time I saw a comment, stating such and such decade or several year stretch was the best in music, going back to at least the 50s.
Real McCoy belongs to the Eurodance era 1992-1996! Another great Eurodance song is "B.G. the prince of rap - The colour of my dreams"! He died 2 weeks ago. R.I.P. 🙏
In the 90's there were a ZILLION songs like this from European groups with the same beat and instrumentation and a guy rapping who could barely speak English LOL. It was called Eurobeat and it was very fast, like 135 bpm or more. "Rhythm of the Night" by Corona was one of those songs. Basically, all were huge club hits but almost all were one-hit wonders. These really are not "bands" per se, they are basically produced by DJ's with studio vocalists and mostly synthesized music and drum machines. They are very catchy but studio made productions. Nowadays they just come right out and say DJ Joe "featuring" Bill and Sue and Sam LOL.
Yes it's right ! This kind of sound can be called Eurodance too. The beginnig were Hazell Dean, Divine, Dead or Alive and Paul Hardcastle in 1985. This kind of beat with the ROLAND TR 808 and ROLAND TR 909 drum machines appeears in 1988 until 2000, end of the Eurodance razzia. For quadragenarian people it was a good discotheque time like disco in the 70's. Anyway like disco there were so much productions that Eurobeat killed it himself. A very goood time for me.
Right! A lot of 80s/90s club music (Disco, House, Acidhouse, Club, Rave, Jungle, Electronica, etc.) had similar sounds and beats so they could be continuously mixed to keep the party going.

"One More Time" by Real McCoy is another awesome banger. There were so many of these songs in the early 90s like "Mr. Vain" by Culture Beat. Others have mentioned "The Power" and "Rhythm Is A Dancer" by Snap! The exclamation mark comes with the band name.

Corona sang "Rhythm Of The Night." "Another Night" is from 1994. It spent 11 weeks at #3, which I'm pretty sure is a record. Also, Madonna's "Vogue" is from 1990, so technically it's not an 80's song. 🙂
“The Rhythm of the Night” by Corona is what Jay is thinking of! It’s very similar and was released in the same year 1994. Sooooo many awesome 90s club dance songs….I posted a bunch in another post but you can start with “The Rhythm of the Night” and then maybe “Sweat Dreams” by La Bouche!
I think the DJ/rapper is German, if I'm not mistaken. This was a little after my club days, but I remember driving to my first teaching job in the morning and when this would come on the radio, I couldn't be still in my car. Haha!
Real McCoy is a German Eurodance and pop music project (1989-present) -collaboration between record producers Juergen Wind (J. Wind), Frank Hassas (Quickmix), plus the rapper Olaf Jeglitza (O-Jay)
Ahhh, the memories. I worked in a liquor store right outside an army base (Ft Wainwright) and Friday-Saturday would be popping. I would turn this song up so loud. Just good times back in the day
Yea this was the sound of many of the club bangers of the 90's. A lot of them came from Europe, the genre is called Eurodance. Here are some other classics from the era I grew up with. Positive energy and good vibes. La Bouche - Sweet Dreams, Black Box - Everybody Everybody, Snap! - Rythmn Is A Dancer, Captain Hollywood Project - More and More, 2 Unlimited - Get Ready For This
Eurodance was big in the 90s and much sounded the same. "Rhythm is a Dancer" by Snap, "What is Love" by Haddaway, "Bailando" by Paradiso, "Be My Lover" by La Bouche. Even a house remake of "Cotton Eye Joe" by Rednex. Real McCoy also had hits with "Run Away" and with a dance remix of Redbone's "Come and Get Your Love", the song in the Bouygues Telecom Christmas advert with the dancing Dad that makes everyone cry.
I love that you reacted to this! It's always been one of my fav songs, and it's so under-rated and under-appreciated! It's just a fun dance club track, thats where I always heard it played!
My best friend that I have had since 1992 gave me the cassette single of this song for Christmas of 1994 I believe, which means I was a sophomore in high school. I wasn't sneaking into clubs, yet, that would've been the next summer when that started, but I can still remember that Christmas season and being in her living room dancing to this song the night she gave it to me.
Real McCoy were a German Eurodance group and Rhythm of the night by Corona were an Italian Eurodance group both in the early 90's Other notable hits during this time are: What is love - Haddaway Be my lover - La Bouche Mr. Vain - Culture Beat Sing Hallelujah - Dr. Alban Rhythm is a dancer - Snap Break my stride - Unique II
A lot of songs came out around the 80-90s simple, repetitive, lyrics and strong beats. They were designed to get people on the dance floor. Days Go By, by Dirty Vegas, Tubthumping by Chumbawamba, and Gonna Make You Sweat by C&C Music Factory (which I forgot had a rap section).
Since y'all mentioned 80s sounds...Please check out "Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)" by British R&B band Soul II Soul, featuring the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra. It was released in 1989. It's an 80s R&B with a touch of Reggae. You'll definitely chair dance to this banger! 💖
"Rhythm of the Night" is by Corona which came out during this time. 1990-1996 had a large European Disco explosion. Real McCoy, Aqua, Corona, Sonique, Snap, Ace Of Base owned the club scene.
Yes! 90's dance/techno songs! Another fun genre! A ton you should try......Whigfield - Saturday Night, 2Unlimited - Twilight Zone, La Bouche - Be My Lover, Real McCoy - Runaway and many others. Great reaction!
There were many of these, but some of them were more than the others. ;) 2 Unlimited, Jam & Spoon, Technotronic, Snap ! all were way more than one hit wonders. The influence of Jam & Spoon can still be heard on modern day electronic dance music.
Jay and Amber the song your on about was “Corona - Rhythm Of The Night” and this genre was known as Eurodance You have to also listen to “Haddaway - What Is Love” “Culture Beat - Mr Vain” “Dr Alban - It’s My Life” “Scatman John - Scatman” “The Shamen - Ebenezer Goode” and lastly “Maxx - Getaway”
@@nicoleadel1983 thank you Nicole, perhaps you and others could help me get a few other songs that I know Amber and Jay would both love !! 🎶 Aylanna Miles - Black Velvet 🎶 Maria McKee - Show Me Heaven 🎶 M-People - Search For The Hero 🎶 Eternal - Power Of A Woman 🎶 Joshua Kadison - Jessie 🎶 Goodfellas - If You Walk Away
This was a HUGE banger during my clubbing days in the early 90s. Thanks for this Jay and Amber! Now you need to try Livin Joy (on Female Friday) Dreamer. Runaway was the other Real McCoy hit. Rhythm of the Night is by Corona, came out before this song.
Real McCoy - Run Away was a massive hit you may want to react to :) Another big Eurodance hit was by the band Army of Lovers with the song "Crucified".
3:15 Yep it's a very similar to rhythm is a dancer beat and think EDM from Europe. I was raised on this by my single mother making me listen to it constantly. Ace of Base as well who I think take credit for making pop
There is so much you guys haven't heard from the 90s you guys need to do MORE to catch up! The 90s was filled with so much music🎶 with all kinds of Genres
There are dozens of dance tracks from early 90s like this. Even Barbie Girl sounds just like this lol. It’s power nrg dance and played night,y 8n every gay club across the country. 😂
This kind of early/mid 90s Eurodance brings back so many memories of going to primary school dances and roller skating rinks during that era. This was the first album I ever bought on CD when I was a kid. You gotta react to their song, Run Away, next. Jay, Rhythm of the Night is a song by "Corona". Just a few of the other songs from this era worth checking out are Crystal Waters - 100% Pure Love, Culture Beat - Mr Vain, Dr Alban - Sing Halleluiah, Mr President - Coco Jambo, Amber - This Is Your Night, La Bouche - Be My Lover, and Sweet Dreams. There's just so many bangers to mention!
This was a smash, dance floor packing hit in 1994, 95. It quickly reached No. 3 on the Billboard Top 100 Chart and remained on the chart for over 45 weeks. Pretty phenomenal to stay on the Hot 100 chart for almost a year.
This song was slightly before Corona's Rhythm of the Night . For more Real McCoy even higher energy try their follow up song Runaway . They also have a totally vibing slower song Come and Get Your Love ..
After meaning soon to be roommate; he introduced me to the band who would play the Lounge Circuit in Vegas, Reno, Tahoe, Laughlin, as well those across the country. He had already known the band fairly well, but once my buddy and I join him and his best friend, we became what the band called The Four Wisemen. The name was after a drink the guys would sometimes order called the 3 Wisemen, and this was straight alcohol, and tasted like gasoline. Whenever they were in Vegas; we would be at every show during our days off. We even because a part of their show; as they would use is during parts of the. They loved our energy, and enthusiasm, and wet lived the music, the vibe, and getting drunk. We even had a tour list of when they would be in Vegas or Laughlin, so we could go see them. We even used our connections with the band; to get my roommate's sister's wedding party into the club they where player in Laughlin, which had a line to get in. That's just how connected we were. In some clubs; we would even hang out with some of the band members. This sing always remains me of those great times we had
A lot of people get this mixed up with The Rhythm of the Night. Not sure if you ever listen to Bastille, but he samples Rhythm of the Night on the same album Pompeii and Bad Blood is on.
I was just watching a reaction video that y'all did a year ago... But before that I watched 2 ppl react to the same song and all they did was make fun of it and it was a song I loved... When I saw your all's reaction you appreciated it. I didn't subscribe to the negative people but I want you to know that the reason I subscribe to you and love you is because you are open minded and y'all jam out to all the songs and I want to say thank you 🙏
Real McCoy and so many other club bangers filled our Fridays & Saturdays night in the late eighties and early nineties. First, if it was just the amigos, after the pick-up, we'd hit a fast food joint. With the girlfriends, it'd be a nice restaurant dinner. Then, inside the club (our closest one was "Phantoms") we'd drink and dance the night away to SO MANY SONGS! Just plain fun! Everybody was dancing with somebody. Great human energy! Here's a few other bangers if your time-traveling to the 80's/90's and want to hit the floor and DANCE! In My Eyes (Stevie B) 1989 - Really, any of his songs will do the trick. This is just my choice. Once thought of as a king of freestyle, you'll hear his smooth voice and synth beats. Rhythm is the Dancer (SNAP) 1992 - the beats...ferocious, the vocals and rap, impressive and powerful. Situation (YAZ/Yazoo) 1982 - The club vibe is strong in this song. You reacted to "Don't Go" by this band, and Situation doesn't disappoint. By the way, watch this version for a glimpse into the 80's dance scene! ruclips.net/video/MUijJbEyMiI/видео.html Give it To Me Baby (Rick James) 1981 - You already know this man, RSR! This one kicks it up and makes you groove.
Great reaction nothing like some 90s dance to shake things up.. here are a few late 80s early 90s dance classics soul 2 soul " back to life" Snap "rythym is a dancer" BlackBox "strike it up" Technotronic "pump up the jam" Jagged edge "let's get married" the remarqable mix
We seen them in concert with other bands! Along with Ace of Base , K7, etc. Here in the US 😆 back in the Mid 90s. Eurodance groups. Fun 🎶 music. Definitely club music. Eurodance was popular in the 80s and 90s. Also 00s
By the way, Hazy Shade of Winter was on the soundtrack of the movie "Less Than Zero", which a really, really, good 80s movie (you guys should react to that one on your movie react channel). It stars a young Robert Downey Jr (aka, Iron Man of the MCU), and James Spader (voice of Ultron in 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' movie). It also stars Jami Gertz (from the movie, The Lost Boys), And Andre McCarthey (from the movies, 'Weekend At Bernie's", and 'Mannequin').
When I seen that yall we're going to react to this song I knew it sounded familiar but it wasn't until ya'll hit play I was like oh yes I remember this song!
I remember when this was played all the time as a kid, back when my hometown still had AM radio. I loved the way it sounded back then. I found it again by accident after having not heard it for a long time. It still sounds good today.😀🎶
I think I was like 10 when this song came out. It brings back memories of riding in the car and listening to the radio with my mom. I really miss her 😥. I miss 90s music too! It didn't all sound the same and it all was being played on the radio for everyone to hear
The fact that every single song frim Canada , Europe, was streamed in Egypt before it is streamed in America is so much fun and yet not a lot of people was lucky enough to enjoy this
When I read the title I was immediately singing the lyrics even though I haven't heard this song since it came out. My favorite club song around that time has to be: Felix with “Don't You Want Me” or “U Got 2 Know” by Cappella with a Siouxsie and the Banshees “Happy House” sample.
Real McCoy was a German Eurodance band. As other have hinted around at regarding the other song you were thinking of it might be: Corona - The Rhythm of the Night but more likely was SNAP! - Rhythm Is A Dancer Beyond that - a couple other more recent songs that start out slower, but end up rocking: The Pretty Reckless - Take Me Down and Halestorm - Here's To Us It's been quite a while since you visited Halestorm and have totally missed The Pretty Reckless.
A lot of songs sounded like this around that time. "Be My Lover" by LA Bouche to name one. That was a time when they were making good dance music that crossed over to mainstream radio. Enjoy!
The song you mentioned Jay is 'Rythem of the night's by Carona however the came about five years apart 87/88 for Carona. But they both did the club. Real McCoy had some club hits. My favorite of there's is 'If your not in for love'.
If I remember rightly, the official title of the group was MC Sar & The Real McCoy. Love and Devotion and Runaway are another couple of great songs by them.
This song was popular, but I find the guy in the back "rapping" to be quite cheesy. For better 90s club, you need to check out LaBouche - Be My Lover; Livin' Joy - Dreamer; Rhythm is a Dancer - Snap; Ultra Naté - Free; Black Box - Strike It Up; M People - Moving on Up; one of my favorites, Funky Green Dogs - Fired Up!; and the one you mentioned, Corona - Rhythm of the Night. There are many more, but this is a good list to start with.
Eurodance. Fun times. I'd say the peak would be Robert Miles 'Children' where it started a shift towards Trance becoming popular imo in the late 90's. One of my absolute guilt pleasures is ATB - 9pm (Till I Come)
Real McCoy went to #1 on the club charts with “Another Night” and had other club hits with “Run Away”, “Come And Get Your Love”, “Automatic Lover (Call For Love)” and “One More Time”.
Their version of Come and Get Your Love is one of my favorite songs.
Rythm of the night was by Corona. Late 80s and 90's eurodance was huge in the States. So good, still on my daily playlist.
And a much better song than this one.
Pump Up the Jam is one of the best of them too!

Real McCoy were a German Eurodance group and Rhythm of the night by Corona were an Italian Eurodance group both in the early 90's
Other notable hits during this time are:
What is love - Haddaway
Be my lover - La Bouche
Mr. Vain - Culture Beat
Sing Hallelujah - Dr. Alban
Rhythm is a dancer - Snap
Break my stride - Unique II
Jay & Amber, their other top 10 hit in the US was "Run Away".
Totally agree with Be My Lover by La Bouche! What a great dance song!
There were many of these, but some of them were more than the others. ;) 2 Unlimited, Jam & Spoon, Technotronic, Snap ! all were way more than one hit wonders. The influence of Jam & Spoon can still be heard on modern day electronic dance music.
Jay and Amber the song your on about was “Corona - Rhythm Of The Night” and this genre was known as Eurodance
You have to also listen to “Haddaway - What Is Love”
“Culture Beat - Mr Vain”
“Dr Alban - It’s My Life”
“Scatman John - Scatman”
“The Shamen - Ebenezer Goode”
and lastly “Maxx - Getaway”
Yes! Rhythm Of The Night!!! And you are absolutely right they would love What is Love because they watched and loved Night at the Roxbury😁
@@nicoleadel1983 thank you Nicole, perhaps you and others could help me get a few other songs that I know Amber and Jay would both love !!
🎶 Aylanna Miles - Black Velvet
🎶 Maria McKee - Show Me Heaven
🎶 M-People - Search For The Hero
🎶 Eternal - Power Of A Woman
🎶 Joshua Kadison - Jessie
🎶 Goodfellas - If You Walk Away
@@raymondfrancis2983 oh and "Rythm Is A Dancer" but I can't remember off the top of my head who sang it🤔. So many good 90s songs!
@@nicoleadel1983 That was “Snap”, they also did “Power” as well!!
Corona (from Italy) sings The Rhythm of Night. This act, Real McCoy, is from Germany.
Real McCoy - Run Away was a massive hit you may want to react to :)
Another big Eurodance hit was by the band Army of Lovers with the song "Crucified".
Yep I remember hearing this song a lot back in the 90s again the music back then was much better than today
The club music from end of the 80s until mid to late 90s was unreal. So much great stuff coming out of Europe.
Joan Osborne - One Of Us
Wow! I remember when this first came out. I bought the CD single. Eurodance was big in the 90’s.
This was a typical dance song from the 90’s. I remember these from my childhood.
This song was slightly before Corona's Rhythm of the Night .
For more Real McCoy even higher energy try their follow up song Runaway . They also have a totally vibing slower song Come and Get Your Love ..
This song always reminded me of “Video Killed the Radio Star” by the Buggles !
Corona, (not to be mistaken with the virus), sang Rhythm of the night.
You should do Baz Lurhmann- Everybody's free to wear sunscreen. It's amazing!!!
Such a good club song! You definitely need to add "Run Away" to your list!
Real McCoy 🤣 ugh my sister's jams. RIP sister.
Dance mix '92-'93'-'94-'95 were awesome. Definitely worth checking out!!
By the way, watch this version for a glimpse into the 80's dance scene! ruclips.net/video/MUijJbEyMiI/видео.html
Give it To Me Baby (Rick James) 1981 - You already know this man, RSR! This one kicks it up and makes you groove.
Rhythm of the Night was by Corona 😜✌️ love that song
More Eurodance like La Bouche “Be My Lover”, Technotronic “Pump Up The Jam” and Culture Beat “Mr. Vain” please.
yassss
Early 90s produced the best dance tracks many still played regularly in clubs. There are also some great Indie tracks from the 90s
Great reaction nothing like some 90s dance to shake things up.. here are a few late 80s early 90s dance classics
soul 2 soul " back to life"
Snap "rythym is a dancer"
BlackBox "strike it up"
Technotronic "pump up the jam"
Jagged edge "let's get married" the remarqable mix
I hadn't heard this song before and I agree, very danceable! I saved it in folders under dance and exercise.
I listen to a request show most days at noon on 102.3 now radio..this is a NowFamily Fav! XooX
This used to play in clubs ALL the time! Thank you for bringing me back to my clubbing days, dancing on the tables 😏🥰
Recently rediscovered this classic. Glad you guys did it!
Rhythm of the night was performed by the group “DeBarge” in 1985 if I am correct.
I call this Genere “Night at the Roxbury” music. Early-Mid 90’s music that was played in clubs and Top 40 stations.
Yes!! "This is your night" by Amber was on night of the Roxbury. Same tune different words.
Their version of come and get your love is also very good
This was my teenage / young adult period. All the dance tunes in the nightclubs. Brings back memories. I have a pile of vinyl in my house.
I chair danced with you! This knackered 52 year old threw some shapes to this back in the day xx
A staple at my college house parties in the 90's
This takes me back to 9-year-old me when I had their album on cassette. That shows you how old I am.
We seen them in concert with other bands! Along with Ace of Base , K7, etc. Here in the US 😆 back in the Mid 90s. Eurodance groups. Fun 🎶 music. Definitely club music. Eurodance was popular in the 80s and 90s. Also 00s
One of the best 90's Eurodance songs! I LOVE IT!
"Hazy Shade of Winter" by The Bangles (1987). The Bangles are an all girl rock band. This song is one of the hottest rock and roll bangers ever!
My all time fav. Real McCoy song!! I cant help but smile when it comes on
The fact that every single song frim Canada , Europe, was streamed in Egypt before it is streamed in America is so much fun and yet not a lot of people was lucky enough to enjoy this
YAAAAAS! I was a Step Aerobics instructor through the entire 1990's, and I made DAMN sure this cut was on EVERY tape I had!! It makes me want to MOVE!
As other have hinted around at regarding the other song you were thinking of it might be:
Corona - The Rhythm of the Night
but more likely was
SNAP! - Rhythm Is A Dancer
Beyond that - a couple other more recent songs that start out slower, but end up rocking:
The Pretty Reckless - Take Me Down
and
Halestorm - Here's To Us
It's been quite a while since you visited Halestorm and have totally missed The Pretty Reckless.
What do you mean you’re iffy about 90’s music?! 🤣 Man, early 90’s had some great rap and club music! We danced the night away in those days!! ♥️
Wow thanks for this song which I apparently forgot existed until I just heard it and somehow knew all the words=lots of fun.
Total banger :D the 90's were so good for dance music!
I sometimes listen to a looped version of this song on repeat for hours when working ... can confirm: Does not get old.
Oh! I remember this song. Didn't know it was eurobeat age. Love it
WOW, excellent bass guitarist up front, hitting those low bass notes with perfection and keeping perfect timing for all.
Loved this group back in the day ❤ Run Away is awesome as well. Y'all should definitely do more 90's stuff like this 🤗
This is seriously is my favorite song in the whole world!! I have loved this song for long. Thank you for reacting to it! ❤
