i think it’s kind of a misconception. bullpen games suck and destroy your pen for weeks. openers are in bullpen games. but openers themselves are fine if using a traditional starter afterwards

My predictions, feel free to dislike:
-80-82 record
-4th place finish behind the Rays and ahead of the Sox.
-Stanton hits 39 homeruns
-Volpe finishes with a < .700 OPS again
-Schmidt will have a higher rWAR than Nestor or Rodon
If Stanton hits 39 bombs they’d win closer to 100 games. Your scenario requires him sucking still

Guys the reason you’re pretending u don’t hate the Sox that much is the exact opposite of what you’re saying. The Yankees have won nothing in 20 years and the Sox have more or less been one of the best in baseball in that timeframe. Now you’re expecting a good Yankees season and a bad Sox season so there’s SUDDENLY, because of a season that hasn’t happened yet, there’s no real rivalry.
