Jake: AZ, IL, FL, MD, HI BBD: TX, CO, GA, WI, PA Jomboy: NY, CA, MI, NC, OK Bro I posted this like two days after the video went up. How has this still gotten so much attention.
Would love to see a household appliance draft. Everything from TVs to Washer/Dryer, Vacuum, Dustbuster, Blender. Really anything you plug in in your house. Would be even better if there was no fixed list of what could be drafted so you could even argue eligibility.
I would have tweaked this format a bit and added a “flex” spot from any region for a total of 6 states per team. That would have added a whole other level of strategy.
NC native here. Wasn't going to comment/brag about NC then you compare it to SC. Jomboy hit it, beach and mountains. I respect SC but not even close, saying Myrtle Beach is better than Wrightsville or Outer Banks is like saying Brent Gretzky is better than Wayne. Jomboy so much respect for the pick and doing your research, hopefully the secret doesn't get out. The Carolinas are the Carolinas, the Gretzkys are the Gretzkys, Jake, I respect the Arizona pick, I was willing to listen but you didn't convince me. Going for the reach with Arizona when the possible GOAT state in Texas is sitting in your lap? Identical to taking Jamarcus Russell to be cute when Megatron was right there. -that being said I am commenting on a youtube video of a state draft, Jomboy this channel is a gem.
I'm floored about the Arizona pick, genuinely. I mean you could go to other regions and get a better pick in the first round than AZ. Texas, NY, Cali were all sat there and I just don't know how you take Arizona over Texas when it was still there.
Myrtle isn't even our best beach and I wish people not from the Carolinas understood that. Sullivans Island, Folley, and Kiawah are all way better and I think can hold a flame to OBX. I'll say at least one thing SC has over NC is you can actually drive from one end of our state to the other in one day without hating life. Also mustard bbq > vinegar.
Myrtle Beach area = 60 miles of beach.......OBX = Near 200 miles of beach. They really aren't even close enough to compare. NC spanks SC in every region easily. Granted I live in Kitty Hawk so I'm slightly biased, but I lived in Charleston and visited Hilton Head quite a lot when I was younger. NC > SC without doubt.
I was gonna, I've never even been to Myrtle beach but I can tell by the people who go there and the way they talk about it its pretty trash. I think the mountain/beach/culture combo in NC is only rivaled by California.

You have the DC area up north and then out west you have beautiful mountain ranges for hiking and camping…..overall a pretty dynamic place.
Tbf, his 3rd & 4th picks were strong too. Michigan & North Carolina were both great picks, Oklahoma was the only pick that was weak and the only state I think he should have considered taking instead of one of his others was Louisiana over NC but I totally get the NC pick. I think AZ at 1, value wise is the worst pick in the draft but Oklahoma was definitely the worst state that was drafted but that just comes down to region limits. Also thought that Jake taking Maryland over PA or MA in the North East was kinda wild.
@Blake Siegle (Student) Minnesota is not more scenic lmao and you've clearly never been to Michigan lakes, Torch Lake is known as a Caribbean lake for a reason
The misunderstanding of the Midwest picks is mind-boggling. Wisconsin being land-locked? What? Wild oversell of Minnesota and Michigan. The Dells aren’t in the top 50 list of Wisconsin destinations.
I think the thing with BBD's picks are that there weren't any real weak picks and Texas falling in his lap was a god send to add to a very good consistent core of states. PA is a super underrated pick as well I feel, especially in the 5th round while Jake's out here blowing his loud on Arizona at 1 and taking Maryland over other NE states like PA & Massachusetts and I feel like his Hawai'i wasn't as good a pick as was made out when he could have taken Washington or Oregon, he already had a holiday state.
I think in order to do this fully you have to draft all 50 but keep the regions and every 5 picks or 6 if you add another region which you should just reset and pick through the regions again but yeah you have to pick all the state I would love to see the arguments about the Dakotas and Wyoming and Montana.
damn missouri getting no love 😭 kc has the chiefs and royals, multiple championships in the past 7 years... stl has the cardinals, always a favorite in the nl, its the middle of the us so its never too far anywhere, not only 2 of the biggest cities in the country but also great rural areas... best bbq in the world, VERY low cost of living... cant even get a single shoutout 🤦♂️😭
I gotta give it to Jimmy for the California New York absolute power duo. Personally I would’ve went with New Mexico over Oklahoma but snagging a Carolina was huge and Michigan, the home state for me, was a steal. I understand it going after Illinois the Chicago factor is fairly large but Jake calling the mitten a reach is just mind boggling. The nicest part of Wisconsin is our upper peninsula, and Minnesota wishes they were hockey town. Ohio I thought was a huge snub, Washington was a surprise, Oregon a snub, Massachusetts huge snug by BBD. I’m not as low on PA as Jimmy and Jake but when Jake went Maryland I was convinced Mass was going BBDs way which would’ve made this a lot more close
@@Steveofthejungle8 New Mexico is the safe pick, OK has higher upside. And everything New Mexico is doing is already being done by Cali. OK was the right pick for Jimmy.
Jimmy’s first 3 picks are absolutely incredible. Powerhouses NY and CA with MI being the most diverse geographically in the Midwest. Fantastic draft for Jomboy
Little bias here but I think Missouri is a sleeper pick in the Midwest that would have had a lot more value. Literally every major sports team in the state has won at least 1 championship in the last decade.
Y’all are crazy. It only has Saint Louis and Kansas City. The ozarks suck and have you seen the obscene amount of ridiculous anti-abortion billboards on the highways? Let’s not forget all the racial tension between the African American community and the police. Not even close to top 5.
BBD taking Georgia and Wisconsin. That is a sneaky good draft. You get all the beauty of the Midwest, that Lake Michigan coast and you get Georgia being the pearl of the south. BBD also taking Texas gives him a solid lineup. I can't help but feel that Jimmy and Jake got schooled.
NM would be my first pick. I love dry heat, and I am a big architecture guy so I love how unique the architecture is within the US (a bland country architecturally tbh).
You don't need zombies to think of a bad scenario here. The lack of consideration regarding climate change had me stressin out. Jake's toast having to hold onto Florida and Hawaii and Jimmy is going to have NY and CA fleeing to the fresh water of Michigan as the oceans keep creeping up the coastline and the wildfire season keeps ramping up.
@@SPMyers92 Oh 100%, and to be honest the back of brain has the exact scenario. I can understand picking Michigan #1 in the Midwest. Once you get past the Detroit thing, it’s a beautiful state. How anyone can pick Wisconsin over Minnesota though, is beyond me.
I grew up my whole life in Illinois and we people (not from Chicago) wanted Chicago to be it's own thing! I'm also living in Michigan now and there is way more state pride here, and it's a lot more beautiful than most realize! To sum it up: I felt like the mid-west was unjustly dumped on... then I remembered what this is :'D
I feel like Kansas probably should have been as well but I think by including those states in the South West, Jomboy would win the draft by default simply by having a better state than Oklahoma as his worst state.
Pennsylvania-Highly underrated. Urban and rural. Nice mountains. Get all the seasons. Great sports cities in Philly and Pittsburg. Right near NY and the beaches along the Coast.
People hate on Philly but it's a great city with all 4 major sports teams and tons of history. Pittsburgh is an underrated city as well, and the surrounding scenery in the western part of the state is beautiful. I'd say PA is a solid pick, not spectacular but it gets the job done
"snow fishing" as a Wisconsin native, I'm disgusted lol. Also, Illinois as the first Midwest state picked, that's a disgrace. No one likes Illinois, even most people from Illinois.
Duh Missouri is the best of them all in the Mid-West. We have ALL the lakes. Ozark, Truman, Table Rock, Smithville. Cheap cost of living LOTS of sports.
NJ gets a lot of negative attention, and it's the most over-crowded state, but they also have 6 Flags Great Adventure, which is the best 6 Flags in existence, and is the 2nd best theme park in the country, next to Cedar Point.
man, Utah getting the snub is surprisinig to me. its got the most variety (minus the coast) for outdoors activities! Best snow in the country, deserts, rivers, lakes, mountains. come on now.
I maintain that New Mexico has even better snow, because there's less of it than in Utah and when it cloaks the Sandia mountains it's the most gorgeous snow I've ever seen.
Mormons are just overly nice. It’s creepy af I wouldn’t want to live around a bunch of Mormons and plus I wouldn’t be able to drink in Utah (I don’t even drink much but the occasional drink would be nice).
@@gregmccauley1687 I've heard that the skiing in Utah is amazing but I live an hour drive from Breck and A basin so I've never had a good enough reason to go
Pennsylvania is a huge sleeper pick. Philly is an awesome city, and like he said, you have access to the coastline on new jersey, delaware and maryland easily. PA is a fantastic pick.
As an Ohio native I feel like our state is slept on we have 2 pro baseball, football and soccer teams and also a pro basketball team and Ohio state for college sports. We also have the Columbus zoo the biggest zoo in the United states and the 2nd largest amusement park in world Cedar Point.
Ohio is my number one in the Midwest. I know that’s crazy because everyone sagas it’s boring but it’s not they have the best amusement park in Cedar point, the pro football hall of fame, an amazing CFB team as well as another that’s really good at the moment (Cincinnati), two pro football teams, steak and shake (which the highest quality ones exist in Ohio), and the Cavs.
I’m in Missouri and it’s my no. 2 in the Midwest Illinois higher, because we got St.Louis, the arch, KC, Branson. Lots of sports, food, and tourists attractions.
Jake would've had the best if he didn't take Florida lmao. Hawaii, Maryland, Illinois, Arizona (although a massive reach) were all great picks. BBD's was just meh, taking the Florida of the North East doesn't help but his there picks were just fine imo. Jimmy killed it with New York, Cali and North Carolina but took a slight step back Oklahoma and Michigan. I'd rank them 1) Jomboy 2) Jake 3) BBD Also here's my board North East 1) NY 2) Maryland 3) CT (home state) 4) RI 5) Mass South East 1) NC 2) Virginia 3) Louisiana 4) Georgia 5) SC Southwest 1) Texas 2) Arizona 3) Oklahoma 4) NM West 1) Hawaii 2) California 3) Oregon 4) Nevada 5) Colorado Midwest 1) Illinois 2) Michigan 3) Minnesota 4) Wisconsin 5) Missouri
Hawaii over California? I mean I guess I can see that. It really depends on what you are looking for. Fun in the sun, sure, but certainly not sports teams, economy, and variety of landscape!

Haven’t seen anyone else do this, so: (picks in draft order)
Jake:
-Southwest: Arizona
-Midwest: Illinois
-Southeast: Florida
-Northeast: Maryland
-West: Hawaii
BBD:
-Southwest: Texas
-West: Colorado
-Southeast: Georgia
-Midwest: Wisconsin
-Northeast: Pennsylvania
Jimmy:
-Northeast: New York
-West: California
-Midwest: Michigan
-Southeast: North Carolina
-Southwest: Oklahoma
BBD absolutely crushed this - getting gifted Texas definitely helps but Wisconsin/Pennsylvania/Georgia is such a good core
Yeah Texas obviously the monster steal there and I think he got too much flak for the PA pick.
Seeing Maryland love was unexpected but much appreciated
Great video idea, I would like to see more of these. I think though a draft board would be nice to keep track of the picks.
Arizona is the Kwame Brown of this draft.
Allen Iverson! - Charles Barkley
@@octopus8420 underappreciated comment
I get the logic but if you are going that region first you gotta go Texas
I’d say this is more like DeAndre Ayton going #1 in 2018. It’s a really good pick but later picks will shine brighter.
And with picking Michigan as his #1 in the midwest, Jomboy has cemented himself as my 1st overall pick for sports commentators.
New Mexico is gorgeous. You're nuts! It's a poor man's Arizona, sure, but I'm a poor man.
If NM is a poor man's AZ, then I don't want to be rich.
I've been to the grand canyon and hiked the mountains in New Mexico. NM was better. And the food, to die for.
Albuquerque is sneaky nice. Like, keep your head on a swivel, but it’s nice
@@logan_nowicki XD
Arizona is a poor mans NM.
Jimmy defending Michigan with no one agreeing with him on either point is hilarious.
as someone who grew up in Oklahoma it's still hard to keep a straight face while jimmy tries to hype it up
I live here too. New Mexico is definitely better than Ok
@@Steveofthejungle8 nah we are way better than new mexico
@@lukepuffinbarger5022 New Mexico has mountains and desert and caves, great food, and cool art and culture. It wins
90% of things are better than New Mexico
@@Steveofthejungle8 New Mexico is the safe pick, OK has higher upside. And everything New Mexico is doing is already being done by Cali. OK was the right pick for Jimmy.
How is anyone going to justify WI without mentioning beer??
Plus the Cheese Curds
I’d argue that the best vacation spot is door county, NOT Wisconsin dells
@@noahbecker4405 I don't know why Jimmy was so fixed on the Dells
@@noahbecker4405 living close to the Dells you learn to dislike it due to the tourist.
@@noahbecker4405 Dells is not good lol
Maryland and Hawaii were both some great late round value
Shoutout to Jake for shouting out the Upper Peninsula
Da Yoop!
Totally. Have been through there in July. ❤
I seem to be in the extreme minority on this but Jake won this draft.
Jimmy’s first 3 picks are absolutely incredible. Powerhouses NY and CA with MI being the most diverse geographically in the Midwest. Fantastic draft for Jomboy
Couldn't agree more. He could have thrown his last two picks and still won it...
I'm lost whats this all for?
Did that guy really just say that myrtle beach is a better beach than any beaches in NC? Lmao the outer banks are much better.
I'm from SC, and even I know MB is a shit beach. NC is clearly a better overall state than SC, but it's close.
Yeah fr there is more partying in Myrtle but I think the outer banks are some of the best beaches in the US
Myrtle Beach not even top 10 beaches in SC.
Was it the same guy that said the murder capitol of the US was a "great american city"? Cause if so...makes sense.
Hilton Head is best
As soon as they started talking about the Midwest I was like “no way Jomboy doesn’t pick Michigan” I have no idea why I felt so strongly
Little bias here but I think Missouri is a sleeper pick in the Midwest that would have had a lot more value. Literally every major sports team in the state has won at least 1 championship in the last decade.
True dat
Thank you! I couldn’t believe no one took Missouri
IL, MN, and MO could easily be top three
Y’all are crazy. It only has Saint Louis and Kansas City. The ozarks suck and have you seen the obscene amount of ridiculous anti-abortion billboards on the highways? Let’s not forget all the racial tension between the African American community and the police. Not even close to top 5.
@@dudee145 You sound like you’re from Columbia...
my picks:
West: Colorado
Southwest: Texas
Midwest: Minnesota
Northeast: Massachusetts
Southeast: North Carolina/Virginia
Jimmy clearly hasn’t seen Breaking Bad talking shit about New Mexico’s scenery
BBD taking Georgia and Wisconsin. That is a sneaky good draft. You get all the beauty of the Midwest, that Lake Michigan coast and you get Georgia being the pearl of the south. BBD also taking Texas gives him a solid lineup. I can't help but feel that Jimmy and Jake got schooled.
I have a feeling these dudes regularly get together to play Risk.
You know how often Arizona gets hit with hurricanes? How about freezing weather knocking out power grid?
“I had Maine above Massachusetts”. Jake officially doesn’t suck.
maine is the worst state in the United States
@@maxschaeffer7228 Wyoming
Maine lowkey one of the best states in the US
@@hanginplant11 Wyoming has Yellowstone. Ohio could never compete.
@@hanginplant11 What’s this “Wyoming” you speak of?
“You should’ve seen what I was passing out on the subway” 😂 Jake
NM would be my first pick. I love dry heat, and I am a big architecture guy so I love how unique the architecture is within the US (a bland country architecturally tbh).
love the rep of michigan , thought we were the clear obvious choice for the midwest
When the zombie apocalypse goes down ands utilities shut off, i have a LOT of fresh water sources in michigan. Good luck Arizona, just saying
what about flint
@@brettmcgraw9468 hot take- big johns steak and onion is worth the voyage to flint regardless of the possible lead consumption
Charles Barone i could agree with that
You don't need zombies to think of a bad scenario here.
I first wrote something doomadsayish but i felt it was too real in a sense-this is a YT video i think we all should be here to escape our troubles- so i went with a cause thats really out there but the sentiment is the same, when/if shit hits the fan i dont need to drink my cats blood for water thank the lord
Living in Illinois, fairly close to Chicago, I would definitely pick Michigan first for the Midwest.
My sleeper is LA in the southeast: New Orleans, Mardi gras, Mississippi River delta, a literally unique culture all to itself (creole american)
Great job making NC you’re #1 in the SE region. You can surf and snowboard in the same day; NC is like California light.
The shit talking between friends here is hilarious
Damn! Arizona as a #1 is actually REAL good but I have Utah as my #1
I can understand picking Michigan #1 in the Midwest. Once you get past the Detroit thing, it’s a beautiful state. How anyone can pick Wisconsin over Minnesota though, is beyond me.
"Chicago is one of the best states"....we forgive you
I feel like Jake took Arizona first because he knew all of the Texans would be in here driving up the interaction if he did
Holy fuck, Jake meta-gamed everybody
Born in Texas lived there 28 years lived in AZ for 10... AZ is a massive upgrade.
Jomboy port huron is not a destination. Thats like going to sarnia for vacation
He should have mentioned Mackinac Island instead.
@@ethanh6370 He did though
Having been there it had me dying lmaoo
@@cameronmurdock7760 used to go to Port Huron every week for work. I loved the drive to get there but yeah there's nothing there lol
Jomboy: Everyone's a little jealous at how much Texans love themselves.
Me, a Texan: "Who's the man? Me, that's who. Wait what did he just say?"
If chicago was its own thing officially (cause it is already) the rest of IL is basically OH.
@@jimb3293 If Chicago was its own thing, the rest of IL is freakin Iowa
@@danielmoore8695 same thing
As a down state Illinois resident, I'd be totally fine with being something like Indiana. Chicago values are not ours.
Wisconsin actually goated pick that late
Colorado and Utah should be in the Southwest. The Southwest is too small, and the West is too strong. This would solve both those problems
I feel like Kansas probably should have been as well but I think by including those states in the South West, Jomboy would win the draft by default simply by having a better state than Oklahoma as his worst state.
Definitely one or the other
@@mattnorris7124 Jomboy could’ve picked NM. NM is miles better then OK. Him picking OK over NM tanked his draft in my view.
Jake and BBO all were laughing about Jomboy for picking Michigan and Jake said only the upper peninsula is good when the mitten is the best part.
Pennsylvania-Highly underrated. Urban and rural. Nice mountains. Get all the seasons. Great sports cities in Philly and Pittsburg. Right near NY and the beaches along the Coast.
Philly's great if you like being dead
Cheap cost of living
LOTS of sports.
@@andrewboyce7268 St. Louis
I love how New Jersey was not mentioned once in this draft
NJ gets a lot of negative attention, and it's the most over-crowded state, but they also have 6 Flags Great Adventure, which is the best 6 Flags in existence, and is the 2nd best theme park in the country, next to Cedar Point.
I'm from NJ but I kinda get it. Everyone thinks we're just NYC's suburbs lol. I like our state tho
California, Arizona, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, North Carolina are the only correct picks
PA and MI are fantastic states. Y’all are out of touch.
As someone who moved to Wisconsin, you guys got it. Nationally we get terrible publicity of being cold, but its great.
man, Utah getting the snub is surprisinig to me. its got the most variety (minus the coast) for outdoors activities! Best snow in the country, deserts, rivers, lakes, mountains. come on now.
They still be sleeping on us.
I live in Colorado and visit family in SLC. People sleep on Utah, SLC is like a mirror of Denver with less tourists. I love it out there
I maintain that New Mexico has even better snow, because there's less of it than in Utah and when it cloaks the Sandia mountains it's the most gorgeous snow I've ever seen.
So it's big character trait is being next to other states.. lol
Milwaukee is a SEVERELY underrated city.
Trash city, its frozen for 5 months. Get outta here.
I really like the mixture of judgement and appraisal that comes from the other 2 guys for each pick
Real Rankings for the SW: Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma

As an Ohio native I feel like our state is slept on we have 2 pro baseball, football and soccer teams and also a pro basketball team and Ohio state for college sports. We also have the Columbus zoo the biggest zoo in the United states and the 2nd largest amusement park in world Cedar Point.
As a fellow Ohio native I don’t see it finishing in the top 15, but it deserves way better than bottom 15.
@@dylanf3108 not to mention SE OHIO is Appalachian beauty
I’m in Missouri and it’s my no. 2 in the Midwest Illinois higher, because we got St.Louis, the arch, KC, Branson. Lots of sports, food, and tourists attractions.

Jake would've had the best if he didn't take Florida lmao. Hawaii, Maryland, Illinois, Arizona (although a massive reach) were all great picks. BBD's was just meh, taking the Florida of the North East doesn't help but his there picks were just fine imo.
