When I saw Erin running to catch up with the Ostrich feeding... I got a little teary-eyed, because I could feel her joy to catch an important moment in her child's life.. a beautiful mom moment I feel privileged to see. I would have worn gloves for the Ostrich feedin' lol. Colt's first penguin sighting too was awesome. What an adventure life is when you are open to change!
This warms my heart. Thank you for seeing us, and me, in that light. I’m glad you understood the joy I have for the kids happiness. They say a mother can only be as happy as her saddest child, and that’s very true 😊
I love your kids’ reactions seeing those animals. Colt is smart, he’s able to distinguish between the male and female animals. Maybe he will be a Vet someday
Wow! Cape Town is absolutely beautiful! Makes us want to go there. But it really felt like we were there with you guys. Miss you all so much besties!!! Super happy you all got to experience this!
I could surely feel the excitement of the kids. The Penguins are so cute, I would never feed an Ostrich from my hand. This series is so informative. Thanks for sharing. 😊
So glad you get to visit our beautiful mother city ... she never is incredibly beautiful. Pity you didn't have the chance to venture north of Cape Town ❤
So beautiful 🥰 We do have the chance to visit Winelands and that was pretty spectacular. That episode will be after our Cape Town food and culture vlog that’s next.
Watching this in chunks, but I was so impressed by the hotel that I went to check on availability for January. And I could get a week for just £20,400! Mega-cripes! Cape Town? Love it - and if I could do a safari from there, I wouldn't bother with Jo'burg. Looking forward to the other videos in this series.
The safaris are actually much closer to Johannesburg but there is so much to experience in both areas. Can’t wait to show our Winelands resort, that hotel really blew us away!
I felt fortunate that my country Malaysia is one of only 17 countries which are mega diverse in this world called earth. Others are Australia, Brazil (of course), china, Colombia, rep of Congo, Ecuador (Galapagos), India , Indonesia, Madagascar , Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Peru , Philippines, South Africa(for sure), USA, Venezuela. And with the stroke of luck and nature, the peninsula and Borneo became the oldest tropical forest in the world.
husband just checking in - 7 am in Cebu. Up at 4am to see what's on the pc from the States, walk the dogs about 5 am. Feeding the Ostriches reminded me of a story my mom told me. In 1946 or 7 my mom and dad went off on a week vacation with out the kids, I was 3 or 4. Some where close to Yellowstone Park they stopped and mom saw this just so cute baby bear cub. She wanted to feed it a potato chip, flat hand and the bear cub bit through one finger. She said his teeth were like little needles.
Wow, you started your day very early ☀️. I bet it’s nice to be back in PH. Your mom is lucky she only had her hand bitten. If the momma bear was nearby it could have been a lot worse.
The Southern Point of Africa is in Cape Agulhas, where Indian Ocean meets Atlantic Ocean about 3 hours drive from Cape Town. Visit Atlantic Dunes for Quad-Biking, and Table Mountain
Erin your shoeeesss!! I love it. I'll ask my friend to check it out for me. She lives in Chicago. I hope she can get something for me. thanks for sharing your Capte Town escapade. What's the feeling when the ostrich almost bite your hands? hahaha. Colt is not really scared of any animals, isn't he?
They are having a Cyber Monday sale today 👏🏼 if you use this link you can get an additional 30% off! shop.allbirds.com/always-be-changing2 We LOVE LOVE these shoes. I actually have really wide feet and have a hard time wearing any closed toe shoe for more than a few hours. But Allbirds feel like socks, I can wear them all day. I hope you get a pair 👍🏻
A penguin couple landed on the coast and one turned to the other and said "Honey, I don't think we're in Chile." The other one replied "I don't care, it's your fault for not asking for directions. We swam this far, I'm not going back!" And that's how the penguins ended up in Africa. LOL
We are not. The next episode is a food and cultural tour and then we head off to the Winelands (amazing!) and then Safaris. There is just so much to do in Cape Town 🫶
Was that in Boulder city where xou saw the penguins? Your vlog brought many smiles on my face as I was reliving my experience on some of your destinations. I was there in 2017. Are you also going to the Palace of the Lost city? Check it out. Sure you will love it. Enjoy!
So happy our episode made you smile 🤗 we loved this day! Yes, that might be Boulder City because it was called Boulder Beach. We haven’t heard of that. Sounds so interesting!
# 2 climbing to the light house is similar in steps to climbing up the hill to see the chocolate hills in Bohol PH. Not sure I can take so many steps anymore. Where is the escalator ?
I know! I reached out to them once. But I guess it’s about having the right contact there. We would love for Colt to get a behind the scenes experience there.
The earth was once one land called pangea. Then it broke up due to tectonic plates movements. Africa was together with South America. The proof can be found in animals example in Namibia and South Africa. India went north to create Himalaya range by colliding with the Asian plate Australia broke away from Antarctica. Antarctica was green and lush once. Australia too. But the early humans burned Australia up. So not much is growing there in the middle. Sometimes it is not the animals migrating but the earth split them apart. You can see that split in Africa now which is breaking up again at the fault lines.
Also...if you take a drive up Van Ryns Pass(+- 4 hours out of Cape Town) you can see evidence of the break /rift that was left behind due to that historical event . It's crazy beautiful and many tourists make the trip for the view . There's also an exact same effect in South America. So many of my Geology friends geek out about the privilege of seeing it ❤
Great question. I rely a lot on Phil, he knows so much about flying and airplanes he’ll usually explain to me why everything is fine. But when I fly without him I look around the plane at the other passengers when I get nervous. I observe that they are all fine and if something was wrong more people would be nervous. But I’m usually the only nervous one. I also peak at the flight crew and notice that they don’t seem to indicate anything is wrong.
I mean he was already warned by their guide and the extra signage, but I guess the luxury tourist entitlement trumps the rules. Maybe a good teaching moment don’t you think?
Please be responsible..warn tourists about the dangers if u don't pay extra for the protection..that would help the numbers of tourists dying from going up if u ignore those stats and lie about the safety of this country to people who don't know any better
You might need to fill us in a bit. We had heard that the city could be dangerous, but so are most in the US. That's just life in a big city. Anything specific we all should know?
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ostrich and Penguins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The part when Brooklyn was bitten by that Ostrich and Colt being pecked by the Penguin is an experience they will never forget. I mean, I was rammed by a Dolphin back in 2017. I will never forget that experience (painful as it was). This is one of my favorite videos from one of my favorite youtube families (you know who the other family is......I saw them in BGC recently looking for a carpet). I can't wait for the "Big 5" Episode.
@@AlwaysBeChanging Yes. It happened when my friends and I visited the Tanon Strait. This is the body of water that separates the Islands of Cebu and Negros. We saw a pod of Dolphins in a shallow area and approached them. I saw a baby one and tried to get close to it to touch it. The Mother Dolphin didn't like what I was doing so it rammed me in the chest. It was not hard but it was really painful. This reminded me that these magnificent creatures are at home in there turf. They belong in water and were built to live in water. We humans are no match to them when we are in water.
