It wasn’t a true fair AB comparison. The pedal and original unit are each connected to entirely different amp models - not exactly the best way to make a comparison.
Maybe it’s because the new unit was connected to a Victory V40 combo (graphic says v140, but that’s a head), which has 6L6 tubes, while the classic original went thru a Victory DP40 with EL34 tubes? Maybe the speakers are also different, not to mention combo vs. cabinet? Too many variables are in play.

I thought the rack units were supposed to get a line level signal from a preamp or fx loop. Were they designed to take instrument signal? This rack unit sounds a lot better to me than the new device, maybe because of the different amps.
I was about to buy an H90, then I heard this. I bought the EVH instead...not to try to sound like Eddi, but because it didn't suck tone out of the amp like all these other multi-effects pedals do.

Pretty cool, but holy crap at the price. I'm sure the boss will do exactly what someone wants, that's great. But you can buy an HXFX that offers a crazy amount of effects for the same money.
