Seeing his rig still set up in that studio brought me to tears.

the SDE-1000 I have, I've had since my teens. The only piece of equipment to survive my crazy life. I'm stoked to see it in the sunlight like this. Definitely buying this yesterday.

Fantastic Job, Awesome to see YOSHI on the Project. Love him. However, can you please include in firmware update 1 the addition of FINE CONTROL of the Delay Time for the first 20 Milliseconds. For Example from 0 to 1 millisecond we need FINE CONTROL . IE . . .1, . 2, . 3, etc . 1.1, 1.2 , 1.3 etc . 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and so on. THIS, is what will make this pedal an incredible pedal. Ed spent the first ten years with ONE of his TWO Echoplexes in this manor . One super short, the other longer. A HUGE THANK YOU For Your Consideration.

This looks great. I already have a Boss GT-1000, Roland GR-55, and a Boss SY-1000. What exactly will this bring in addition to those units? What can it do that those other units cannot do? Checked the pre-order price and it is very reasonable. Looking forward to testing one.

Any chance you could do a demo video highlighting the built gating/noise reduction in use with the 4-cable method? I haven’t seen anything online that touches this subject besides mentioning it’s included.
Do the new Sd3000 models enable low cut to be applied to the echoes, as was in the original Meazzi and Long Tom echoes? If the only variable is high cut, then this is the same as most modern delay fx in respect of echoes.

Looks like an amazing concept and product… Ground lift and phase switches on all the outputs would’ve been better than *ground lift patch cables* though.
Yeah - already I envision one of these cables getting lost or damaged on a gig.
@@Andyanddiana467 how do these work exactly and why would we all still need things like the Radial boxes if a patch cable this simple could have worked all along? It has me a bit skeptical.
@@phaskellhall The cables are likely wired with the ground/sleeve wires detached. As for Radial boxes - those would be to balance the signal (i.e., use a transformer to create an XLR feed). I'm grossly oversimplifying this, but that's the general idea.
@@Andyanddiana467 I've never used a radial for that purpose. My radial box allows me to plug in one input and output to two different amps and lift the ground that causes the loop. I'd assume you could have 3 outputs for 3 amps but then you need something to give the WDW stereo effect. In the end I've moved over to a Quad Cortex and OMG does it make all this routing stuff so much easier.

I would love to see Roland/Boss make a compact stomp box version, and have a switch that automatically gives you the Cathedral delay. Like the MXR evh flanger, push a button and you have his Unchained setting!
Ed used the Lexicon PCM-70 for Cathedral delay in his rig not the SDE-3000’s

The 4 evh presets what are they? I know he had 398 and 798 on his rolands that he never changed except for Women in Love. I know you not gonna give the delay times n feedback settings, which preset is for the 398 798? And what songs are the other presets? Is there a cathedral preset? And i know during recording he had the dmx 15 settings of 21 and the other 28. Are those settings also one of the presets?
Except that Ed did not come up with the idea for wet dry wet. That came from Bob Bradshaw
I have a photo of EVH’s rack with the SDE 3000’s from the 1993 tour… I think he had 3 of them…
What’s the difference between the EVH model and the regular SDE 3000 pedal??

How can you use this with 3 amps? Delay before distortion is awful. And can its control out change amp channels?
I'm pretty sure they know what their doing. Not that they haven't been making pedals, amps, rack gear for decades. I'm sure its midi compatible as well.
Honestly though not digital delays but mono tape Echoplexes sound wonderful in front of a dirty amp... that's why it's nonsense to market a digital delay with the notion every guitarist has an elaborate wet dry wet three amplifier parallel mixer loadbox power amp multiple speaker cab set up like Ed had 🤣🤣🤣. Putting this delay through the FX loop isn't going to get the EVH w/d/w stereo effect either.
Because they're using a loadbox and a clean likely solidstate poweramp with a mixer that pans a wet left dry middle and right wet mix like the old Bradshaw rigs had.
