You would probably like their Folsum Prison Blues. Adam is great in that.
Not to be a Spelling Nazi, but it's Folsom.
Yeah. I can't quite spit from my house to Folsom, but maybe if I had a good tail wind...
They do a cover of Working for a Living, and Adam has another harmonica solo.
yes he does a great NoMonica 👍
And I just love the slam of the clipboard.
@@patriciaboehringer5028 Yes, indeed! Adam and his NoMonica!
Brothers in Arms...Mark Knopfler was inspired by The Falklands War. Home Frees version is unbelievable.
Home Free's "When a Man Loves A Woman" is amazing.
You guys are just beginning to listen to Home Free oh my God this is the deepest rabbit hole you'll ever go down with any Acapella group.. These guys have got everybody beat hands down... good luck pick a song and go.. Adam Chance is the one doing the sound of the didgeridoo that noise that you heard at the beginning.. he's amazing too.. you'll see a lot more of him in their older stuff his voice is absolutely out of this world..
Sea Shanty Medley. Adam does drums and castanets.
Great reaction! Check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, I Swear, and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!
Adam is killer crazy with his sounds.
Fishing in the dark/Boondocks Mashup, Butts remix, do you hear what I hear, and cold hard cash are all insane good! 🥰
Chance, the guy on the left in the back, is a baritone and doing the twanging sound of a jews harp. Of course, Adam does the beatboxing and harmonica. Tim Foust, the bass, has a 5 octave range. If you want to hear him get really low watch Peter Hollins and Tim Foust singing Misty Mountains.
I looked back over your reactions for the last year and didn't see anything from Post Modern Jukebox. They take modern songs and do them as 40s, 50s, 60s style jazz/blues/big band. I would love to see your reaction to Post Modern Jukebox, featuring Haley Reinhart on vocals, doing Creep or Seven Nation Army. I'm sure you have heard both and you will love the way they do them. Haley is very nice on the eyes which is always a good thing in addition to being a fantastic singer.
All true re Tim Foust, but he shows a lot of individual talent on his recently released album "Pieces of Me" Volume One: Doo-wop. He provides ALL of the parts/sounds vocally. Pretty incredible! I've seen them live and still have a hard time believing those sounds are made by humans... especially ONE human. They're all so talented. Very lucky to have found each other IMHO
"O Brother where Art Thou" was HUGE! It's still in my top five of all time! And, this song was unforgettable on that movie.
Y'all ain't the only ones crushing on Adam Rupp!! Dude is freakin INSANE with his abilities❤❤
Now you need to do to hear the updated No-harmonica harmonica he has gotten so much better you won't believe it.
i call it a noMonica he is playing
That sound you mentioned that sounds like frogs is actually an instrument called the Jews harp. I still have my grandaddy's.
I have my grandfather's Jews harp as well. Such memories growing up of him playing it.
Fun instrument, but hard on the teeth.
Accept In this song, there are not any instrument. Its Chance doing the sound all by his mouth. 👍
@@annakoch9972 Yeah, he's using a technique called throat singing which, instead of being hard on the teeth, is hard on the throat.
The Soggybottom boys!!! 🥰🥰🥰 EXCELLENT MOVIE!!!
“That’s some mighty fine a’pickin’ & a’tickin’!!!”
The “sounds like a mouth harp” was done by Adam Chance, known as Chance, the guy in the vest and hat, dark hair and beard, at the end of the video.
These guys are just fun to watch an listen to. And they do an awesome job on all the songs they do.
"Brothers In Arms" is a necessity.
Their version of End of the Road is awesome!
The sound at the beginning is a jaw harp. The sound is being made by Adam Chance.
Home Free Just made a new song called Go Tell it on the Mountain with Texas Hill, it’s really good.
They are pounding out the cover upgrades. They never miss on a song. Vocal Excellence
The original of this song was written in the early 1900s and was covered by Bob Dylan in the 1950s and a host of other singers, most recently in the movie Oh Brother, Where Art Thou by the Soggy Bottom Boys.
P.S. - I think you'd also like their live video "9-5 beatboxing breakdown" - they alll beatbox.
For a different appreciation of Adam Rupp check out his arranging skills in "Do You Hear What I Hear?" Check out some of their other Christmas songs including the newly released Mary Did You Know and Go Tell It On the Mountain.
Go for…Hillbilly Bone, End of the Road, Brothers In Arms, Butts Medley, Sea Shanty Medley, When A Man Loves A Woman, Mary Did You Know, anything really. It’s all excellent!
This was filmed in northern Alabama where the Gators and big oak trees grow.
It's also close to where group member Adam Chance, or just "Chance"was born and raised....everybody! ..the place.where heeeeee was born and raaaaaaaised.
I found these guys last year. This was the first song I ever heard from them & I was instantly hooked & became a homefry. The talent of these 5 men is insane. Together they are a perfect fit & complement each other so well. There bass singer Tim Foust is the best in the business & Adam Rupp their beatboxer extraordinaire can make any sounds & is in a class by himself.
Ain't Goin' Down Till the Sun Comes Up - great harmonica!
Adam is amazing but Austin can do the harmonica sound also. I saw them in concert (for the 1st time) back in October & they performed this song. When Adam started his "harmonica solo", Austin joined him & made it a duet. They did "Ring of Fire" as an encore. When Tim hit that massive low note at the end, I could feel the floor vibrate (everyone was standing) & it made my chest hurt! Oh, and Adam does a "drum solo" in every concert so you can really appreciate his talent! If you get a chance to see them in concert, GO! Check out their version of "Do You Hear What I Hear". It's a bit older but it's great. It was arranged by Adam Rupp so the vocal percussion & beat boxing are really great.
Adam Rupp's drum solo video is other worldly. Give a listen, it is mind bending! MISTY MOUNTAINS with peter Hollins and Tim Foust is also on fire!
So, these guys in concert are simply a blast. They are total showmen. If you three get a chance, I would highly suggest going. There are a slew of fan recorded concert videos. These have cleaner audio but the concert videos are a blast. There is even on with Tim (The bass) singing Your Man (I believe) where Tim blows speakers. There is at least one live fan video of Man of Constant Sorrow.
The Butts Medley might be the funniest things I’ve seen and the way Adam’s talent directs the transitions between songs is amazingly seamless. To have that much fun and sound that good? WTH? Also…The Sea Shanty Medley done during quarantine is amazing.
Hey guys, hello from down the road in E’town. I listen to a lot of Home Free reactions, thanks for the video! More Home Free please, thanks!❤️
I lived in E'town for 20 years...cool to see someone close doing reactions
@@michaelburns7530 Etown is hometown for me, lived here all my life except for college days. Hey I’ll pass the word along about your channel. Try their version of the Johnny Cash classic Folsom Prison Blues. I’m not a country fan but love Cash so was expecting to not like the Home Free version but I loved it! Thanks ❤️
These men are the best vocal artist in the world right now. This could be a fun journey for you
Unchained Melody
God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood
American Pie
One Man Band
Please wait to react to this one - Mayday
Love your happy spirited reactions
When they added Adam Chance (who is also a beat boxer) it gave Adam Rupp some extra help and he is a great baritone also....big improvement. Chance does the Jews Harp you hear at the beginning and end.
The original from 1913 or Soggy Bottom Boys? Yeah it was made popular in that movie and was great. Love this though. Adam, the beatboxer, is a freak of nature. He can do drums, harmonica, bugs, all manner of noises. Try Adam Rupp Drum Solo on RUclips- he’s amazing. Chance, the last guy in the video, did the mouth harp. They can all beatbox to a degree and the lead singer here can also do a harmonica. If you want to hear bass, Brothers in Arms, has Tim going so low…no beatboxing in it but it’s beautiful. Helplessly Hoping, In the Blood, One Man Band, Mary Did You Know for more beautiful harmonies. Good reaction guys!
Fun fact on their last tour before lockdown they were in Sweden and after Adam finished his Drum Solo the others did not notice so he had to stand on stage 5 min extra asking the audience what sound they wanted him to do
I don't see that you've reacted to Pentatonix, the group who won the acapella competition "The Sing Off" the year before Home Free won. I think you'll enjoy them. Many reviewers start with their first (of three) Grammy winning videos, Daft Punk Medley, or their biggest RUclips hit, Hallelujah (over half a billion views). One of their newest hits is The Prayer, off their sixth Christmas album, with almost four million views since October 29. It is destined to be another classic. Another gorgeous Christmas song of theirs from many years ago is Mary, Did You Know. Sound of Silence and Bohemian Rhapsody are also favorites. Home Free supporters are called "Home Fries." Pentatonix fans are "Pentaholics." There is a huge cross-over between the fans of the two groups. Expect a viewing/membership spike if you start reviewing them as well.
Adam did the drumming and harmonica, but the mouth harp sound going in and out of the video was done by Chance, the other guy in the back beside the beatboxer. These guys are versatile
I have been following them since the TV show “Song Off”. Saw them at Grand Ole Opry.” I too am from Kentucky and went to UK. GO CATS!
They are very good live. And yes Brothers in arms is great.
Adam Rupp swallowed ALL the instruments! It’s not what else can he do. It’s what can’t he do. Great reaction guys! GO CATS!!!!
SUCH a classic song!
Thanks so much, gents, for having wide-ranging eclectic tastes.
(P.S. We need to get some bobble-heads made of/for y'all ☺.)
They do it all! Butts Remix by them will show you their hip and comedic side.
In one of their Home Away From Home videos they left Adam out on stage not knowing he was done so he was asking the audience for suggestions of sounds to make
You all need to react to "Brothers In Arms". You will hear Tim Foust the bass singer do his thing. He can also sing high as you will see in "Mayday" and Adam Chance (goes by Chance) is a baratone but can do some pretty low bass. For that you should check out "Mayday." They will make you Home Fries yet!
And...more folks fall down the rabbit hole. You are so fucking doomed. We'll save you a chair.
You're about to be drowned in Home Fries.
Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks. Amazing.
All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He's a two-time world champion and there're good reasons he's called a "Freak of Nature" and the man who swallowed a drum kit. For more of Adam's incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete's sake), his no-harmonica harmonica solo on Working For A Living, and his drum solos.
For more of Tim's seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version).
For Chance's smooth baritone, check out Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome. A basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow.
For Rob's smooth soul, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.)
For Austin's soaring tenor, check out Moonshine or When A Man Loves a Woman. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.)
For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget.
For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.)
For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne.
For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female.
For more of their wonderful collaborations, check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, or Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Peter Hollens.
Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video.
Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.”
You are doomed, Home Fries. Bring ketchup.
Home Free just released a Garth Brooks cover which features Adams incredible turntable effects and the No-monica :) you should definately check it out...it is a hyped, fast paced song that is absolutely incredible.
Well, love you guys! You hit them right on the head when they do a cover they pay homage to it and put their own spin on it.
The beat boxer got you guys. Your heads were all bobbin in sync. LOL
heard them live last night! spent the night having my chest slammed by Adam's kick drums and Tim subwoofer notes!
When a Man loved a woman is awesome .. Folsom Prison Blues Johnny cash remake
There is a live version of this on RUclips, as well. Brilliant.
Oh and so glad you guys found Home Free, love these guys. Tim the bass is my favorite, he’s got like a unbelievable range…..
This was really cool, I have seen it before. Love that they make their own sounds for instruments. The way they perform this it just gets in your soul.
That is a NO-MONICA, sirs lol
Absolutely agree with Beth. Next folsom prison blues please
The sound in the beginning and end is Adam Chance vocalizing a Jaw Harp.
New subscriber, die hard Home Fry! Really enjoyed your reactions, for a different side of them, I suggest When A Man Loves A Woman. ❤
Chance did the mouth harp via Tibetan throat singing.
Home Free is on tour now.
Just watched this… love you guys, and we are born and raised in KY❤️
This group is just amazing and they exagerate their accents too...and yes there is footage from one of their concerts with this song !!! Look for it
Tim has busted speakers in their shows hitting such low notes
Adam also does a great harmonica in their cover of "Working for a Living." If anyone is interested, I have 2 tix to the Dec. 15 concert in Des Moines, Iowa I cannot use. Just let me know. This would have been my 6th concert over 5 different states - they are more than worth the travel!
In the cover of working for a living, Adam does a harmonica solo that blows this one out of the water. If you want to hear a really good cover, check out "End of the Road"
I just saw them live this spring....it's awesome live!!!!
God they are perfect! ❤️
Very nice reaction, thank you!
He hits the harmonica hard in "Working for a living" as well!
Home Free " Butt's Remix" is a fun one to react to.
Y'all would love to see an Adam solo! Check out " ADAM RUPP LIVE SOLO IN CONCERT" There are quite a few to choose from. Most reactors like to watch the first one that pops up, it's an older one apprx 2015/2016 he's in a red flannel shirt. Then a newer version, to show how he has progressed with his incredible skills! A 2 for 1 double feature would be great!!!
This is a great one for sure! Anything you choose will be great because they NEVER fail or disappoint! Really great reaction! Thanks! Y'all said you could just sit and watch them at a concert, well I'm going to be doing that tonight ( Sat.4th ) at my 1st concert and I can't begin to tell y'all how excited I am! ♥️🍟
They are AMAZING. ❤
hello neighbors from across the river
Adam Rupp can sing too. I just heard them sing this live and they didn't miss a atep.
Adam Chance, the newest member of the group, (the other Adam, Adam Rupp, is the beatboxer), can make himself sound like a Jaw Harp. Adam, in the opening of the song, is emulating the sounds made by a Jaw Harp, aka Mouth Harp also known by its older anti-Semitic name as a Jew's Harp. A Jaw Harp was/is an instrument often seen and heard in old-timey country bluegrass and folk groups.
Example...
ruclips.net/video/_EZrhYg8O_U/видео.html
Some others have mistakenly thought that the sound is like that of a didgeridoo. Both a didgeridoo and a Jaw Harp produce a single note vibration to which the player can change the tone and resonance by manipulating their mouth and throat cavity along with their breath. Some have speculated that Adam Chance makes that sound utilizing a technique like that of Mongolian Throat Singers. In the very last scene of the video showing a group member is Adam Chance as he makes that sound.
Great reaction to a video her so much is going on!! You need to listen to their live!! on stage performance. Midway through Austin joints Adam for a harmonica do it
Please do more Home Free. Love you guys.
Hi guys! Love Home Free, love your reactions. You might like to check out Marcelito Pomoy singingThe Prayer (Celine Dion / Andrea Bocelli) live on the Wishbus. You will not believe what you are hearing. Amazing talent. Watch soon....you will be glad you did! 👍
They can all Beatbox But we know Adam Rupp is awesome the Best . If you want a change from country they do all genres of music 🤯🤯❤️❤️🕳🐇
Nice reaction. Subbed immediately!
This song is intoxicating, and as you rightly said, they did it justice.
Listen to Home Free and the Oak Ridge Boys together singing "Elvira." The bass with Tim and Richard Sterban is ridiculous!
Adam does another harmonica solo in WORKING FOR A LIVING
Good call. That sound at the start and finish was Chance doing the mouth harp. The guys were also doing the crackling at the start to imitate the static sound of a vinyl record when the needle touches it. Austin The lead tenor also does a harmonica sometimes in their concerts, He and Adam duet the harmonicas. You should check out Vince Gill doing Go Rest High on that MOuntain and then do Home Free's version of it. Amazing how much Robb sounds like Vince when he takes the lead on that song. These guys doing Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys is great too.
First time with this group. This is fire....love it!!!
Check out there cover of How great thou art its a must see
Castanets in Sea Shanty Medley. 😃
I just saw them in Mobile AL this past weekend. So Good! You should definitely try to catch them live. They are so entertaining and Tim Foust's low notes made the whole theater rumble.
It was great to see that their sound is the real deal, and not just something produced in the studio.
You guys look like Bobble Heads keeping the beat!! Love it!!
I love their remake of Ring of Fire
They do get close to that live
The DEEP BASS at the end of Ring of Fire was actually Avi Kaplan formerly of PENTATONIX! Y’all HAVE to react to anything by them!!
The bass, Tim Foust, has an AMAZING range. You should see their cover of "Mayday" for another totally different side of them.
Great reaction - thank you. Try some newer ones = Brother in Arms (and for Tim’s unbelievable range, follow it with My Maria with Austin Brown……blow your mind!)
Song and movie based on the story by Homer( 3000 yes ago) Odyssey
Butts medley is fun. #homefry
Sea shanty medley and helplessly hoping. Try those
Hey fellow Kentuckians. I just found your channel tonight. Very much enjoying it.
Please if you like Home Free do a review of one of thier first video's (God Bless The USA) the most beautiful version I've ever heard
In concert Adam Rupp has taken suggestions from the audience and then made the sounds, on the spot.
you guy are awesome! keep representing the 502!!
That was one of the first songs I saw from Home Free. I don't remember how many times I watched it until I was sure - there is no harmonica. 😁
Thanks for a really good reaction to this song. The guys are really amazing in what they can do. Adam's beatboxing is amazing. All the songs Sue Coker recommended are great choices. You can't go wrong. They have some Christmas songs that are fun is you are interested...Full Of Cheer...Cold Hard Cash...Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer...and a new song...Home Free and Texas Hill...Go Tell It On The Mountain...anyway, up to y'all.
