It's insanely cool that you call out the people doing the actual work to make these features happen. Brilliant.
and why are they all so hot
Right! I noticed that too! What a great team
Yeah as an engineer I definitely noticed and appreciated this.
I never thought I would look forward to updates for a browser, but Arc and everyone behind it has changed my entire view on it all. Still patiently waiting for the Windows release but Thanks for the progress up to this point
I'm really looking forward to being able to using @work and get that productivity boost! Unfortunately, we only have windows there :(
Super agreed! Always an awesome day when a new Arc update hit!
Second that! Arc changes my way!
Same! They really put a lot of thought into these updates!
Absolutely loving Arc in 2023 - it's hands down one of my top picks for software this year. The more I dive into its user-first approach and innovative culture, the more hyped I get. It's not just about the cool features; it's how they totally get what users need.
As an engineer, I cannot express how much I appreciate you giving callouts to the individual people that work on any one feature. Please continue with this as you can, because the transparency is awesome
Yeah thats awesome
The irony of the browser being closed source and the company owning your data forever. Yes, love the transparency.
I have never seen a company so rigorously go through product updates or give their developers actual credit for the work that was accomplished in their sprints. You all are a model for how to engage customers, create products, and be transparent about your process. Keep it up, aspirational in every way and the product *#&$*@ SLAPS!
I'm not on TikTok, but I'm sure you can also upload the same thing for RUclips shorts. I would love to see more candid contents from y'all.
In terms of what kind of things I wanna see, one of many things I love about Arc is that it's always improving--oftentimes, in a direction I'd never imagined before. And part of that is because I love thinking about designs. So, I'd love to learn all about how you all came up with these creative ideas (sure some of them could come from users) and how you go about implementing them. For example, maybe you got feedback from users that it would be nice to make extensions more accessible. How did you go about tackling that? And what kind of design philosophy that goes into making a browser.
I remember on Twitter that you were talking about an alternative design in which the tabs are not on the left side, and someone (or you) were showing the heatmap of where the cursor usually is and it's concentrated around top-left corner. I like that kind of stuff. I never thought of it before, but that's kind of the point--good designs are often invisible. Plus, I get to appreciate how much work and thoughts were put into each element of this browser. Thanks!!!
What an insanely humble communication style from a company. You enable your team to feel like our collaborators, and it's inspiring me to bring that to my own company.
definitely want those tiktoks as shorts on youtube! can’t believe I’m the only one not using anything else other than yt
As an iOS engineer myself, I think it's really awesome how you guys show appreciation to those who have worked on some of the improvements. Most people only care about the big stuff, but sometimes the smaller implementations can take a long time to develop. Knowing that your hard work has value is really important to stay motivated. Keep it up!
i'd love it if your tiktoks were posted on youtube as well, excited for when arc comes to windows !!!
Never have i ever thought i would be excited for updates of a browser. Keep up the great work :)
yep. it feels like an odd thing to look forward to, haha

📌🆕 Full list of fixes and improvements:
- Pinned Extensions are now live in the URL Bar! Head to the Site Settings Button in the URL bar and click the Pin icon on any extension you want easily accessible. Hover over the URL Bar to access any pinned extensions.
- Introducing Tab Handoff! Arc keeps your place on each tab regardless of which window you're using. This is a game-changer, especially for forms, scrolled pages, and videos. This means only one instance of each tab will load, even across multiple windows.
- Arc Max's ChatGPT Command Bar integration is even faster. If you have it enabled, you'll now see it as a suggestion when typing queries.
- Highlighting text on any webpage now exposes a "Share Quote" option in the URL bar and right-click menu. Clicking now creates and copies a custom hyperlink to your webpage, with an image that features the quote. Send this via iMessage or Twitter!
- Little Arc Windows now auto-archive every 6 hours by default. You can edit this setting in Arc > Settings > General. You can view all archived tabs by hitting CMD T and typing "View Archive". Filter for Little Arc.
- Right-clicking on the Arc Icon in the Mac Dock provides an option to "Show/Hide All Little Arc Windows".
- We've made fixes to the tab scroll speed and "overflow indicator" when navigating to a tab that's no longer in view in the sidebar.
- Easily create a new split by hitting CMD T and typing "Add Right Split", "Add Left Split", "Add Top Split", or "Add Bottom Split".
- The Library will now automatically open to the last-used section. For example, after downloading, the Downloads section will be selected first upon opening the Library.
- Restoring tabs from the Archive now automatically routes back to the Space they came from.
- Text fields in Easels now have spell check enabled by default.
- The Space Viewer in the Library now allows dragging/dropping tabs into empty Spaces.
- It's now possible to mute a tab in Split View by right-clicking on the split and selecting "Mute" under the tab's name. It's also now possible to duplicate a split in the tab's right-click menu.
- Adding Shared Folders to your sidebar will now always insert at the bottom of your Pinned Tabs section.
- We've fixed the formatting of text on Easel link cards.
- Site Search on X (formerly Twitter) now uses the new X branding and name.
- Right-click on a shortcut in Arc > Settings to more easily "Reset Shortcut to Default".
- Enabling and Disabling Previews can now be done in the Site Settings button in the URL Bar.
- The "Back to PiP" button from the Mini Audio Player now animates while heading to the proper location.
- We've fixed a long-standing bug where hitting the Share button on an Easel in Peek didn't work.
- We fixed the issue causing custom space-switching shortcuts to be reset on restart of Arc.
- We've fixed a bug where downloads were defaulting to the "last saved location" as the destination, despite selecting a specific folder in preferences.
- We've fixed a bug where Arc Max Tidy Downloads were incorrectly renaming files.
- Performance improvement: We've fixed a potential performance issue that could arise from leaving the Preferences window open in the background.
- Performance improvement: each Little Arc window will perform fewer per-profile actions when first opening.
Is there meant to be a list of the Lay-Ups here??!
Is it possible to pin this comment to the top? Had to scroll a bit to find it.
Hey, would you mind adding the link to release notes in the description next time? Was a frustrating experience to find the stuff I care about the most :)
you forgot to pin the comment, its hard to find
REALLY LOVE all these USER-CENTERED updates! We are so appreciative of you hearing what we're saying, looking out for what's actually useful and helpful. Just, thank you for building this the way you're building it!
they aren't user centric? they aren't listening with the 3 dots thing

Now, I'd love to see Arc run on Windows. As someone who has no Mac but loves the project you are running and the mindset you are following with that, that'd be a super-duper cool Christmas “present” 💗.
It's insane how good you are at giving that "awesome place to work" vibe every time you speak about what you do at the company. Keep up the great work!

I look forward to Arc updates every week, and this week's were particularly amazing. Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into making browsing so fabulous!
This one makes me soooo happpy:
"Restoring tabs from the Archive now automatically routes back to the Space they came from."
Thanks for hearing our feedback!
Never thought I'd describe a browser as life-changing but this has absolutely revolutionized my work day. This is the future of browsing and I feel truly blessed to be able to be a part of it at its inception/revolution stages.
How as it revolutionized your work day, precisely please? Especially compare to your previous workflow.
@@aynehancer5959 I experience less tab chaos and maintain much quicker access to the pages I use regularly. Split views help me multitask effectively and the design of the sidebar keeps everything I need right within reach.
Not into TikTok, but if you all cross-posted the content on RUclips, I'd definitely love to see it! Keep up the good work! Once Windows is launched, I have a bunch of new users I can probably get moved over (most of my friends/family are Windows folks).
thanks for the fix to the extensions! I'm loving Arc!
Love the changes! Arc has been so amazing to use over my past browser! ❤
The fact that not only Google is trying to push people to ads, but because there's shared ad revenue to even Apple via Safari is mind-blowing! Everyone benefits from search ads aside from end-users. This is what is going to make Arc majorly stand out. Arc is built for people. Appreciate you also fixing the multi-window form/syncing issue, this is a huge help. Also, the pinned extensions implementation is super slick, well done Dustin! Excited for what's coming-updating now, later fam!
I love you guys. I've never been so invested in the success of a product.
I want to join in praising how you spotlight the talented developers behind each weekly release. Putting names and faces to the latest features brings an extra dimension of humanity. It personalizes the company behind this already personalized browser. Kudos on recognizing your developers' important contributions. We need more examples like this showcasing how relatively small numbers of people can make noticeably significant contributions that improve our lives.
Lovin these vids as always! I don't really use tiktok but posting short content through youtube shorts might be a good avenue to tap into!
The extensions update is the best one, finally an easier way to reach them.
the best browser I've ever seen guys. Keep going!
And I like your way of presenting the updates with this short & funny videos
you've done it again. my hat is off.
Another week, another fantastic update! Keep up the great work!
It has been awesome following along with your development. Everytime I get small irritations the almost always are fixed the next release. Super awesome
I look forward to your updates every week, over and over again, and it's a thrilling moment when I refresh in the morning to find that it's updated
As a real estate agent, Arc is a game changer, I have everything organized, easy to access and makes me way more productive. Anyone that is near me I always tell them to download it. Keep up the great work, I love using a browser again.

The extension update is 🔥🔥🔥! Perfectly fits my needs, thank you!
You have saved one of my biggest annoyances with the pinned tabs. Thank you. Was using chrome for many tasks because of this for a while. Will try again get fully back into Arc.
I am absolutely in love with the shared quotes implementation. The formatting and the way it links directly to the quoted section is SUPER clean and useful.

How could I not love this company?
i love you guys. thank you so much. some of the most productivity increase since starting with arc
Thank you for the frequent updates and improvements. Arc is the first web browser that makes me feel like I could actually move on from Chrome. It does all the things I need it to do so well.
Things like how spaces are handled, mini Arc windows (maybe my favorite feature -- so useful and clever), how tabs are automatically cleaned up, how the pinned favorites stay across space, and how hitting Command-S makes the window beautifully "full"... there's just so much, and I love it. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the extensions improvements! Loved it!
I love the fact that every week Arc drops new features & updates which increases my productivity to a whole new level. Full stop.
All of these are awesome! Thank you! It's rad that you call out the people and their contributions! NO TikTok for me, ever!
3:35 I'm glad Pinned Extensions are accessible again! :)
You guys are simply amazing. i love everything you do,including these videos.
So appreciative of the way you're building this. It feels like very little fluff, and very big response to us, your users. I truly hope this path is followed more often by developers tackling other big problems. (Web is yours. ;) )
Also, love the fact you guys are taking feedback so openly. It's common on the very early stages, but it usually decays. It doesn't seem to have had to, so keep it up guys! I'm dailying Arc as a frontend dev!!

You may feel like you're "winging it", but if so, you're doing so better than most, that is for sure.
i love the energy you guys are bringing back to the browser.
Every update is a wonderful improvement on a wonderful idea. Keep up the great work 💪💪
Always love your updates, Arc is fantastic. As a few other folks have mentioned, think it's brilliant that you name check the team members working hard on these new features. As a designer, I'd love to see a bit more BTS on your design process - sketching/prototyping, diverging/converging ideas etc. Maybe an Arc design team blog or youtube channel could be a thing?
months back i switched to Arc and never moved away.. this has been a fabulous experience to surf internet and the progress you guys have been making ... its fab.. keep it up ..
Thank you for making extensions easier to click!
It's totally insane, thank you for your work, Arc make my life easier
These are fantastic updates. Thank you for all that you do!
you guys are doing phenomenal work in browser space. Keep it up.
Loving ALL of this thanks team - thanks - getting extensions right is not easy and I'm so grateful you're still going at that. The new channel pls have here on the tubes for geriatrics like me. Love to all, Arohanui. Thank you thank you thank you
Thank you for not breaking shortcuts with this update :) Last couple updates have reset my "go to space X" overrides (I prefer cmd+num over ctrl+num) but they stuck around this time! Yay!
You're doing an amazing job guys! 👍
Amazing work with extensions guys ❤❤❤🎉
Omg this feature drop is amazing. Thank you for shipping the features we want/need instead of what you think we should want. I look forward to a future where silicon valley people don't just condescendingly tell us what we want all the time.

Thursdays aren't Thursdays without an Arc update. Happy that today is Thursday.
love love love love all of this. ARC IS THE BEST! YOU ARE THE BEST!
Thanks guys i love pinned extensions!
This is so refreshing in the browser space. Thank you.
Great you fixed the extension problem!
You nailed the tab handoff! This is exactly what Arc was missing for me
Pin extensions is amazing, thank you!
amazing update as always. i am so grateful for this browser and its my most appreciated software ever, never would have expected my internet experience to change this drastically even just a year ago. THANK YOU!
This browser has been such a game-changer. Huge fan. Literally, look forward to these updates.
I love that you're sharing behind the scenes content like this, I don't use TikTok but would love to watch them on Insta! Also when is Arc coming to Threads? I don't wanna keep feeding my feature ideas to Josh there, he's earned some peace and quiet
OH MY GOD LOVE YALL. THE NEW EXTENSIONS SETUP IS PERFECT YES
I am so impressed with your ability to read my mind. I.e. ChatGPT from command bar, shared quotes, extensions! ❤❤❤
I'd love to see Arc on RUclips Shorts. I'm looking forward to using shared quotes, they look stunning!
keep the great releases coming! love these videos.
phenomenal update!!! love searchgpt
AMazing! Keep it up guys, love the company and the transparency!
Arc is changing our website experience!!! love it
Would you consider creating a built in Pomodoro Timer? I love having a visual of the time remaining but find most screen overlay ones take up too much of the screen / my digital workspace when using my laptop. It would be great if there was either an option to pin it as an extension, or if it sat bottom left where I have seen a mini media player control sit before :) Love love love your guys work!
It is refreshing to hear such bold statements challenging the past decades of web browsing (surfing?) behaviors! 😍
Now, I don’t (nor will) use TikTok but love the idea of you sharing rougher drafts and involving the community (even) more. Are you by any chance considering other channels?
awesome update, thanks. Special thanks to the one that fixed the download bug! 🙏🏼🥳
Wow! Dare I admit I look forward to the goofy, enthusiastic, and substantive videos that are highlights for my web browser? LOL! I really appreciate the work you all are doing. And thanks for the folds into Notion. Not with this update explicitly. But that Notion Clipper is my goto, and this update made that easier again!
Pleaseee, Arc before Christmas would be an awesome gift ❤
Amazing release and great work :)
awesome update with the extensions !!
arc I ♥ u
Awesome release!!!!
Is windows still on track for 2023 release? Will it be feature complete?
Awesome release. Quote cards rock
thanks for the pinned extensions! :-D
Arc is just getting better and better. And I'm so glad to have supported this project from an early stage!

the way y'all shout-out your engineers and designers is SO awesome
Arc. A taste of perfection.

I just love witnessing and being a part of this whole thing
Woww!!! the extension was what I hoped would happen, and it did!!!

Congratulations to the team for their fantastic work on the latest updates. Using Arc is increasingly enjoyable every day!

YES! Handoff!!! So good.
Great job, I love Arc :)
I was one of the people complaining about the three dots being removed. I'm glad pinning extension received some TLC in this release. Looking forward to test this! Thanks!
Arc is the main reason I open Twitter/X every day! truly appreciate the hard work of the Arc team ❤
Browsers are a commodity product that i would never pay for - BUT i look forward to your update videos, you are excited about what you are working on (which makes me excited), i love seeing pictures of the real people working on it. Would gladly support you in the future.
Arc has one of the most creative solutions that a browser can have
