Hello David [Music Shed] ! Nightwish fans here, your reaction just appeared on our radar.. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing here at Wacken Open Air festival 2013, together with Floor Jansen, the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of a 82k+ audience. Also a recent sad news - these days Marco Hietala, the bass player and male singer of the band, announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. As I saw you enjoyed this powerful performance of the band, together with the stellar vocals and charisma of our Dutch metal queen, Floor Jansen. You mostly understood the beauty of this band. I hope you'll continue. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory): "Romanticide" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) ruclips.net/video/zz_7OCCQlXs/видео.html "Storytime" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) ruclips.net/video/pvkYwOJZONU/видео.html "Ever Dream" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) ruclips.net/video/1Xi4n8dJcF8/видео.html "Song Of Myself" live at Wacken 2013 (dark/metal) ruclips.net/video/lQu5QjidHWg/видео.html "Dead Boy's Poem" - live Buenos Aires 2018 (soulful ballad) ruclips.net/video/S8E3L7ggLMM/видео.html "Ghost River" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) ruclips.net/video/05eitd-EA6I/видео.html "Dark Chest Of Wonders" live at Wacken 2013 (metal, the greatest show opener ever) ruclips.net/video/OvOD6xecph4/видео.html "My Walden" live at Wembley 2015 (celtic / folk) ruclips.net/video/knqeI807ZlY/видео.html "Sleeping Sun" live at Tampere 2015 (ballad) ruclips.net/video/rsotlzr9wNw/видео.html "The Islander" live at Tampere 2015 (Marco in charge..) ruclips.net/video/Zo8ncK_5kzc/видео.html "Stargazer" live at Tampere 2015 (operatic vocals / metal) ruclips.net/video/NhEuAPYm_Ug/видео.html "Sahara" live at Tampa 2016 (middle eastern vibe) ruclips.net/video/lTvYfLa4Wlk/видео.html "Slaying The Dreamer" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) ruclips.net/video/wA44tjaP5n0/видео.html "I Want My Tears Back" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (celtic / folk vibe) ruclips.net/video/TBOdgxjb0kM/видео.html "Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean" live In Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) ruclips.net/video/t26r_vAYQ0Q/видео.html "Weak Fantasy" live at Tampere 2015 (dark metal) ruclips.net/video/AN239Pbqbjo/видео.html "7 Days To The Wolves" live at Wembley 2015 (dark metal) ruclips.net/video/XvsfwAPbWXc/видео.html And if you want to hear Floor growling :) then try "Yours Is An Empty Hope" live at Mexico City in 2015 ruclips.net/video/DuwY1d-KIss/видео.html Last but not the least - they just released their 9th studio album on April 10th 2020 named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg (for example: "Shoemaker", the 3rd track from this album, tells the story of Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founders of planetary science, whose ash was sent on the Moon after his death, as a tribute from the scientific community ..) The links presented above are with the current singer of the band, Floor Jansen, since I'm a fan of the recent era of the band, with Floor as the singer. I have nothing against previous singers, but I do not consider myself the most suitable person to give specific recommendations from their repertoires. * I think it's your place, fans of previous Nightwish eras, to present to the reactors the best recommendations with Tarja Turunen and Anette Olzon, because you know and appreciate them directly. I encourage you to add the best recommendations in the comments. * That being said, I will add here the message left the other day by an old fan of the band, @Fabrizio Gorla: " To be fair to the old fanbase, you may want to include also some of these songs. Just be fair and don’t make a comparison if you don’t want an open war in your comment section. * The Tarja era *: The power of Tarja - Nightwish - Wishmaster [Live] - ruclips.net/video/eJTlH521E6w/видео.html The lyrics of this song are a treasure of citations from fantasy books. Then 6 weeks ago she dropped the third cover, in Dutch: "Is Dit Nou Later" from Stef Bos - already 239K views. Just before Christmas she made a powerful cover of "Ave Maria" - already 229K views. Two weeks ago she added a remastered / remixed version of the first one, "Let It Go" - already 136k. Then last Saturday she added to the list a powerful cover of "Adagio" by Lara Fabian (!!!) - 262K views now.. Thank you! Waiting for more Nightwish reactions. All the best from RO. Stay safe.
@@coolgabe64 Our neighboring peoples share a historical rivalry. Maybe that's why there are so many mixed marriages. I'm glad I met you here, enjoying Beauty together. :)
This was actually towards the end of the show, they'd been playing for over an hour at this point! I recommend you watch the entire set because it's honesly the best live performance I've seen
People complaining about the amount of stoppages and piano playing by David. This is a reaction video. You don’t want that then go watch the original video. Simple.
i 'll agree to that and that's also why i love pausing because some people who don't pause and here can happen too with the piano at times i feel may miss parts either by speaking or like here the piano can cover the sound of what they should be reacting to (though granted... headphones help), remember people come to them videos to see reactions not the original but a reactor has to respect the song and react to it, not talk on top of half of it or be preoccupied with other stuff (cause i 've seen in past this happen too)
It's not that I don't like reaction videos, but reacting means listening to me. You can't play along with an unfamiliar song and really listen at the same time. I know it's fun to play along, but personally I wouldn't do it in a reaction video. If that's what you do that's fine of course, but I completely understand why it annoys people who watch other reaction video's.
@@MusicShed true but a reactor wants people to enjoy new music & subscribe, keep in mind although we NW fans love to see people react to NW (especially vocal pro's) who have never heard them before ,for most of us the primary enthusiasm is to get more exposure for this phenomenal band and singer ,thus we want new listeners to get the best experience & NW videos rarely get blocked, but a reactor tip after a pause go back a bit before resuming to maintain song continuity your viewers will appreciate it :) . btw great reaction, cheers
It was actually the 13th out of 15 songs on the setlist. The backing track you're hearing is from the London Philharmonic Orchestra, plus they use two choirs as well, one child and one adult. They have been working with the orchestra since 2004 and there's part of a documentary on that collaboration. Here's the segment that discusses the work with the orchestra: ruclips.net/video/r0ivbQz3IGI/видео.html
I'm a 65 years old finnish guy and Floor makes me cry every time I hear her last notes. I've been listening 20+ reactions about this song and everybody says she's a goddess.
"These guys have got chops for days but they don't use them to show off" - that's one of the things I appreciate most about Nightwish, about Tuomas' compositions and everyone's playing, and Floor's singing. They do not what they can despite of the song, but what the song needs, regardless of their capabilities. Emppu's solo in this song is a great example - the man can shred for days, but that's not what the song needed. The song needed a smooth solo, simply repeating the vocal melody. And so, that's what he played. I must've seen this performance several hundreds of times and today I noticed for the first time that there's a clock on the bass drum.
Never noticed any clock anywhere there xD Probably I will notice next time. Took me ages to notice the crowds reaction to the high note at the end too. Maybe I just suck at noticing stuff ~~
@@kettvektor8037 On the face of the bass drum, the hands are at 15:42 ish. don't know if it's a 'clock' per se, but it's a circular feature with two hands on it.
that moment, floor sings first note and he says "she has a beautiful voice" and you sit back and think "dude, you know nothing" because you know what will happens in few minutes.
"Gotta be the first song"? Nope. Song 10 (or thereabouts). She'd been singing for about an hour. How. Bow. Dat? Behold the Valkyrie Goddess Of Metal. :D Oh, and that high note at the end? Did she give you goose bumps? Send a shiver down your spine? That's a Floorgasm!
As a keyboard player I'm sure you will appreciate that 90% of the music is written by Tuomas Holopainen the keyboard player. One member not featured on this song is Troy Donockley the English multi instrumentalist, pipes, Irish bagpipes, bouzouki, etc etc. Any live performance from 2013 onwards will feature Floor as singer.
Floor Jansen is a vocal athlete with incredible range, agility, versatility, vocal stamina, and stage presence. She is a soprano with a range of more than three octaves (D3 to F6). It is apparent when listening to her sing that she has spent the better part of her life fine-tuning her instrument with help from several vocal coaches. Floor can sing in multiple languages and genres and is a vocal coach herself. It is incredible how she is able to take any song and make it her own. This woman is a true gift to her craft and an incredible addition to a band that has always been great until 2013 when they officially hired the undisputed Queen of Metal Floor Jansen, making Nightwish the greatest band on the planet.
This never gets old. Juuka grooving on his TAMA double-base set, Emppu driving the rhythm in his signature ESP EV-1, Marco giving us epic base lines in his Warwick Buzzard, Tuomas sharing his genius on his KORGs and Floor leading the crowd like a modern-day 6-foot 1-inch Valkyrie and seducing like a siren. They are all at the top of the talent tree. Each one alone could lead a band into greatness let alone all five of them. One of the best live performances of all time. Not only musically but staging and production is unmatched. You are down a rabbit hole that has no way back...enjoy the ride.
@@Mopsner i really hope he will. He said himself that he don‘t think that he will be gone for good, and so i am sure that he will return one day - when this day will be... i don‘t know....
Just saw this on Feb. 4th...late in the evening as I was getting ready to listen to some Nightwish to help me go to sleep! Nightwish Army, Texas Regiment checking in !!! And yes, I listen hard rock/Heavy Metal and Nightwish to help me sleep! At 63 years old, I have listened to heavy metal/ hard rock since I was an 8 year old listening to Jimmy Hendrix, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath with Ozzie...and the list goes on and on! Nightwish is in a whole other dimension.... A category of greatness all by themselves! Goodnight all...I am going g to listen to "Ever Dream" before going to sleep!
Hello from France! One of the best reaction for this song so far! I mean it. Nightwish is not a band: this is an emotion! You have to look for "The poet and the pendulum" (but please: do some researches before so you may understand the full background of this song and it will litterally blown you away!) Then you'll have to look for "The greatest show on earth" And there are so many more songs from Nightwish: Dead boy's poem, Ever dream, the Islander, etc. Loved your piano playing! By the way, Nightwish is a finnish band but the lead singer (Floor Jansen) is dutch. You may react to her covers (Heart, Lara Fabian, ...). The man behind the keys (Tuomas) is the compositor of 90%+ of the Nightwish music. He's called "the new Mozart". He's a genius. Period.
A highly underrated part of this song is how hard Jukka killed it on the drums. Floor absolutely killed it on vocals, yes, but Jukka's work on the drums is what makes Ghost Love Score, Ghost Love Score. It's sad that he had to leave.
Thanks for the excellent reaction! I understand what you mean about seeing your favorite band live. It took me over 20 years to have the privilege of seeing them live. Most incredible concert I've ever attended!! Enjoy the journey. It will be unforgettable. :D If this was 11 out of 10, get ready for some 99 out of 10.
Welcome to Nightwish, your new favorite band. Your next few videos will clearly demonstrate that their versatility isn't limited to Floor's vocals, and that the chops you detect run deeper than you currently imagine. I look forward to your enjoyment of this discovery. I for one have no issue with the pauses - it's a REACTION, by someone who has more to say than "she's got a great voice". And the piano? Takes me right back to my childhood. My Dad was a Jazz musician, and whenever he would hear anything new and interesting, HE would always go to the piano - essentially to translate what he was hearing into a form that he could more fully understand. Sometimes he'd ask me to pause and repeat a certain passage, play around with it himself until he got it right, and then improvise on the melody from there. (Of course, this would happen with my Pink Floyd and Steely Dan albums, and not with my brother's Aerosmith and Foghat albums.) The piano in this video alone got you my subscription. We share another common experience - I have also had my ears fried by ELP. In my case it was the ascending synthesizer part at the end of "Aquatarkus", during which Emerson's grand piano rose from below the floor of the stage. It was triumphant, exalting, and . . . OWW ! ! ! As it happens, though, the worst of my hearing damage came from seeing Nightwish in a club five years ago. I was fifteen feet away from Marco, which also put me about ten feet from the stage-right speakers. The sound blew right through my earplugs, and the tinnitus is with me to this day . . . but so is the memory. (MAKE AMERICA NIGHTWISH)
I could appreciate him getting all excited and wanting to be a part of it, but it annoyed the everloving F out of me when he interfered with the finale. At least her last note got him to shut the hell up.
You said THE word about this song: Masterpiece. Glad you saw that becaus e this performance says a lot about what heavy-metal is all about, and you have mention that as well: good heavy-metal music lead us to another dimension of space and time in promote some kind of catarsis wich is the reason this kind of music is almost a religion to their fans around the world. I don't think another kind of music nowadays can do that, this feeling of journey, adventure and drama and poetry. Heavy-Metal was made to be epic and not some kind of stupid music like Motely Crue or Poison did. Since Black Sabbath, Heavy-Metal shows such an inconformity with this world and that's why bands like Iron Maiden are such great story tellers. Nightwish follhows the same path and this perfomance, to me, is the pinnacle of Heavy-Metal Music of all time, musically and visually, all the elements that made Heavy-Metal great are there and the dozen and dozen of reactions I saw about this video prove that: people who knows about music, composition and vocals are amazed by them. It is the ultimate HEAVY-METAL VICTORY!
Tuomas the keyboardist does the composing and the keyboard orchestrations are arranged to real orchestra by Pip Williams. They haven't played with an orchestra live yet but it will happen.
"So this got to be the first song of the show" LOL When you go and listen to the whole Wacken concert (and yes you will) It will take a while before this props up. :)))
Said this before, but here goes: anyone who notices the importance of Emppu's tour of gentle touches early-ish in the song just *gets* Nightwish and deserves a subscription. Also, your observations about playing for the song were spot on. A song is a song is a song. Outside of that there is...cold and uninviting Musoland . Take care and stay safe.
No, the 13th song in this "show". 2 following... No, Nightwish itself was not on a stage with an orchestra, some members only. But Tuomas, who wrote most of their songs, often works together with orchestras like the London Symphonic. The music in the middle here was played by such an orchestra. More attention to the music. You can play on keyboard the second look...
Your reaction was so great! I’m really happy! Plenty of Nightwish songs will be suggested to you from fellow fans. Looking forward to more of your experience, so I subscribed for the ride. Thanks again!
I'm a simple man. I enter RUclips, I saw a Nightwish Reaction, I press Play .. That's all!!! (BTW, Chilean Division of Nightwish Army reporting sir!!!!!!)
Lovely reaction. You actually show your own musicskills by being able to play with the band, you hear for the first time, you also show the apreciation for this band we all love. Gabriel already has given you a journey to listen and discover Nightwish to the fullest. Just because there is so much more to discover. You will be suprised every new song you hear from them for the first time. Every time you hear a song from them for the first time, you will think this was the best I ever heard. And then realising that it doesn't matter in what order you listen the songs. Stay safe, stay healthy and enjoy your new journey in the world of symphonic metal in general and Nightwish in particular. Greetings from the Netherlands (Floors native ground)
Now this is what I call a real music teacher; hearing a song for the first time, and being able to play along with it. This guy has not only a great ear, but is also able to transpose it into his piano playing. That's what I call music mastery. Great job!
Hi Music Shed David, I'm Dave from the Pennsylvania division of the Nightwish Army. That was a fascinating reaction. You obviously have massive amounts of talent and knowledge yourself. We hope you continue your journey discovering Nightwish. 10 out of 10 reaction.
Finally "Nightwish"!!!! David you are going to love these guys. You can do this whole show and not be disappointed. I'm sure the Nightwish Army will not let you down in suggestions so I'll just go with a really good is "Epica, ft Floor Jensen - Sancta Terra"

"Masterpiece"... Yup that kinda sums it up. Btw... What it's about... Choir sings in the beginning "If you would be the one to cut me, I would bleed forever" and in the "You were the one to cut me, so I bleed forever"
18:50 the Floorgasm brings yet another convert to the family !! 😁 Welcome Brother. You’re one of us now. Just FYI, that’s about 70 minutes into the show, and Floor had been killin’ it the whole way already. Also, that’s 82 THOUSAND people hanging on her every word; so, no pressure on her to Bury that (9 second long)high note.... At 6’1 and 170 pounds Floor is a smiling, singing, dancing, enchanting, stage commanding Valkyrie Goddess, and to me at least, a gift from above. Seeing the whole video of this concert, Especially the Floorgasm changed my life. It made me start listening to music again. I love watching these reaction videos and my biggest hope is that people follow and enjoy the Symphonic Metal path I was led to. Welcome to it. 💙💙💙All Hail Floor !! 💙💙💙 Infantryman-Nightwish Army. Great reaction, thank's! You gave me a real flashback when commenting on the guitarist sipping on his "alcohol". My music teacher in 7 - 9th grade was a very bohemian lady. She only teached what she thought important and didn't care much about tests or grades. We jammed whatever she was into that day; reggae, blues, rock and folk music. We only dipped our toes in classical and trad music. Sometimes we had class at her house, listening to songs from her massive private collection when we learned more about rastafari, lgbtq rights in a global perspective and magic mushrooms. All somewhat related to music or at least some musician. A few times were different, she felt uninspired and then the content was swedish classical. I know now that was a sober period. All that alcohol was of course bad for her, but ironically it helped her to be a great music teacher to us. Later I learned more. She was a multi instrumentalist, composer and had a nice raspy jazz voice. Periodically she filled in for the organist at the big church organ. She conducted the chamber orchestra and choir a few occasion when I was in the choir. She did real good. It's easy to wonder what may have been, but maybe she was and had all that she wanted. She passed away 10 years ago or so. It would have been nice to tell her what I thought then, but I like to think that she knew how we felt.
It's so nice to see someone catch early on something very particular to Nightwish - music comes first, artists' talents serve the songs, not the other way around. They're the true masters of that. Wacken 2013 is still the golden standard of live performances imho, but their newer songs are also worth checking out: this is one of those magical bands that can do it all, and after listening to them for years I'm yet to hear something they're unable to pull off.
A Finnish band with a Dutch singer, singing English at a German rock festival. 🎶 I love how you just hear a small bit of the song and play perfectly along. It always makes me smile how in tune with music you are.
@@SimonPlantinga I didn’t notice this time, I always get caught up in Floor’s voice. But in the other reaction videos, especially BMTH with Amy Lee...that one is so beautiful.
Geez, you made my day!!!! I've been watching dozens of reactions for this masterpiece song, but i must tell you that your reaction was something incredible, something special. I rarely writing comments but this time I had to. As you can see I love this song but your comments are gorgeous and during all the time of this song I was waiting for your playing. I've seen this for the very first time on RUclips. This song is really a masterpiece but your reaction has the same level (among reactions). You know what I mean :) Wow! Thank you!
The Best reaction video that I've ever watched so far. Not only giving his opinion but giving technical information about the band, the music, sound, rythm and interpretation. Very nice reaction, and now subscribed to this Channel. Regards from Chile 🇨🇱
Hello Music Shed, I enjoyed your reaction very much and I have to compliment you that you explain everything so clearly. Yes indeed, this song is in one word (a freaky) MASTERPIECE!!
The best reaction to Nightwish that I have seen in a while !!! Fun to see you ☺️ playing along ! Welcome to the Mystical Magical Musical Adventure that is Nightwish !!!
Nice reaction... and nice piano skills but you've only just began your Nightwish journey. Let the Nightwish Army guide you. Oh and talking of Masterpiece.... just waaaaiiiiiiit 😁
Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands. Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish. What you've heard here is just the tip of what this band can do. Nightwish really hits you in your hard. And that's what makes this band so unique. There were 82,000 people there. Her name is Floor Jansen and she is Dutch. Try Song of myself with Floor of course.
You nailed it about egos, the band don't have them. Everything is for the music. I guess when you reach that level of talent the music speaks for itself. Great playing btw, loved your musical additions!
Welcome to Nightwish. All Songs Are different. The Basist Marko has a powerful voice too. You Can hear it in the live Song high hope. In dont like coversongs, But they make the song to their own. All Nightwish Songs Are magic. Pleace react the live unplugged Version from How's the heart. Beautiful
6:38 David: "Yes bass player".... Me: "Oh my boy... if you only know what's coming for your next reaction ;) " Note: If you like pyro and this genre You MUST react to Epica - Consign to Oblivion live at the Zenith. Awesome way to close that video!
I feel like I’ve watched every Ghost Love Score reaction video, and this is the first where the reactor couldn’t help himself but to jam along, and it was awesome.
This live performance is by far my favourite since Floor joined the band!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🖤🖤 This song always makes me cry but I'm also happy at the same time. Speaking of chops, game recognises game 👏🏻👏🏻
First of all, great reaction! But there you've gone and done it... You stuck your nose into the rabbithole and now you're hooked! Welcome to the rollercoaster that is Nightwish! I'm a longtime fan since 2003 and I can tell you, you're in for a ride! I guess you already got plenty suggestions already for Nightwish performances, so I wanna suggest the performances of Floor in a Dutch TV show called 'Beste zangers'. You'll hear her sing English, German, Spanish and Dutch lyrics! I'm telling you, do not miss out of this!! And again, loved your reaction! Greets from the Netherlands
For the most part I don't think Nightwish reactions get blocked, given the number of reactors to this song. It might still be the most reacted to song on RUclips.
Happy music. Happy times. Floor the Valkyrie brings it home. This is a masterpiece (crafted by Tuomas, the metal Mozart) and it’s greatest expression was on that day in 2013.
Yeah, not that just i liked your reaction - I loved the fact that now you are familiar with Nightwish - and this band can bring you hours of awe and excitement listening and watching them play. I other words - I am happy for you ) Not any day you get introduced to the band of Nightwish caliber.
Great reaction. This ban is like no other. Floor was singing for the band for only 10 months during this performance and was not yet a permanent member. Definitely recommend checking out more from this show: Ever Dream, Romanticide, Song Of Myself, Ghost River to name a few. And masterpiece, that is yet to come.
Late reply but: "They're not in this world anymore. Them and the whole audience." 100%! Couldn't agree more! Saw them live recently and they were literally the greatest live show I have ever been to in my life.
It's symphonic but it's rocking, yeah 😅. This is one of the most epic live performances ever. The whole Wacken 2013 show is (this was actually third last song there). They are all excellent musicians, but their main target is to tell stories to us: sad, happy, uplifting, depressing, emotional or even some angry stories. Their versatility is immense. Greetings from Finland! ⛄👍
Welcome to Nightwish. Floor was a vocal coach before she joined Nightwish. She has 2 years of opera. Floor calls herself that she's a vocal technique nerd. Welcome to our Valkyrie, Angel, Warrior Princess and Beauty and the beast. There is 2 more that are longer.
"Chops for days"🙂 Can see and hear that you're a true professional with your commenting and noticing stuff others can't at first listen. 👍 Great playing also.
Keep doing what you do David. I love the points of difference in your channel compared to others. Some of the piano interludes are just magical (like in some of the Bring Me the Horizon songs) and actually bring an extra dimension to the songs themselves.
That reaction was one ongoing Floorgasm! (term for people's reaction upon hearing Floor Jansen sing...chills, jaw dropping, hyperactivity, spontaneously crying, etc. etc.) :P If you want to continue your Nightwish journey down that rabbit hole, as it seems you want to, then I suggest pinning Gabriel Bardac's post, because the links provided give the best versions (per general consensus) of each respective song. Enjoy the ride!
This was song 13 of a 15 song set. They are the tightest symphonic band on the planet. Great reaction. New subscribers as we want to follow you on your Nightwish journey. Many live performances with everyone different and very enjoyable. They never disappoint. Gabriel has provided his extensive bio and song list, so we will just join you for each reaction. Enjoy the ride and stay safe.
Hi David, Nightwish are one of my favorite bands, along with another great female fronted symphonic metal band that you might like, from the Netherlands the band EPICA, this is one of my favorite live performances from them: Epica - Unchain Utopia (OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO)
David - as a NW fan, it's not only gratifying that a reaction channel loves the band we have loved for so many years on first hearing, but you seem to have instantly UNDERSTOOD their guiding ethos: "We serve the song, not our egos". Kiitos! ("Thank you" in Finnish). 🤘 As you already appear to be aware and appreciate Band-Maid, I'd like to introduce you to the premiere Japanese all-female Metal band - LOVEBITES. I suggest starting with "Holy War - Live @Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020". Prepare to fall in musical love...and to be Bitten! 🐺💜🤘
Great reaction and analysis. I love that you picked up on the fact that they play their roles to serve the music. Choosing the right time to go extra and when to let off. That shows great musical understanding and maturity on their part. Btw they are playing to backing tracks by the London philharmonic. Majority of their music is composed by Tuomas, the keyboardist. Also this song was much later in their set that night.
REALLY loved your reaction. Subscribed and PLEASE do more. You wil not be disappointed by this magnificent band and their Valkyrie Goddess FLOOR - not to forget the master musicians and the Metal Mozart Tuomas' writing. Just enjoy the ride Brother.
Hallo, great Reaction. Welcome in the Nightwish family, and congrats to your first Floorgasm 🤗 and what i like, you see ELP live..👍forget, look to Gabriels list.it is a good way, to go deeper
It is certainly a masterpiece and it's like that live always, so check out more songs. React to Song of Myself, Storytime, Ever Dream, Ghost River etc all from the same concert. Enjoy🤗
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
So be prepared. lol "
Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory):

Last but not the least - they just released their 9th studio album on April 10th 2020 named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg (for example: "Shoemaker", the 3rd track from this album, tells the story of Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founders of planetary science, whose ash was sent on the Moon after his death, as a tribute from the scientific community ..)
The links presented above are with the current singer of the band, Floor Jansen, since I'm a fan of the recent era of the band, with Floor as the singer.
That being said, I will add here the message left the other day by an old fan of the band, @Fabrizio Gorla: " To be fair to the old fanbase, you may want to include also some of these songs. Just be fair and don’t make a comparison if you don’t want an open war in your comment section.

You can also react to Floor Jansen "tapping" other musical genres in Beste Zangers 2019 (TV show from Netherlands) here is a playlist made by Floor herself (start listen it in reverse order..): ruclips.net/p/PL8iSYWeQhlimgUnWw1FDdiJN0msPzqpLo
To understand better the context of this show you should visit also Jenniezelf's YT channel (En subtitled materials): ruclips.net/user/jenniezelf
For entire episodes of the show with En translation, you should check Denise Hofs's DM channel: www.dailymotion.com/xpinkeu/videos
In these pandemic times, Floor Jansen has decided to make covers for us, which you can find on her YT channel ruclips.net/channel/UCxy4Ijz2QKXXJaREs-isxwA - there are already 5 covers there, the first is "Let It Go" from "Frozen" (10 weeks ago, already over 2.045M views), the second - "Alone" from "Heart" (released 8 weeks ago) - 880K and counting.

:)
This was actually towards the end of the show, they'd been playing for over an hour at this point! I recommend you watch the entire set because it's honesly the best live performance I've seen
It really is
I think is the song 15/18....
Yes it was later in the show. Floor started in pants and costume changed to the skirt. Her stage outfits are amazing too.
The whole concert is unbelievable. Wish I had been there.
So true. Then next the Wembley Arena show.
She doesn't "hit" notes, she just looks at them and they line up and do her bidding.
You win the Internet today, sir.
This deserved more love😂
Best comment ever!
I just read that and my head voice turned straight to palpatine.

Lol my thoughts exactly
People complaining about the amount of stoppages and piano playing by David. This is a reaction video. You don’t want that then go watch the original video. Simple.
Amen
Most of the Nightwish Army knows this, like with reactor Chase Carneson on RUclips and "Tank"😍😁😎
i 'll agree to that and that's also why i love pausing because some people who don't pause and here can happen too with the piano at times i feel may miss parts either by speaking or like here the piano can cover the sound of what they should be reacting to (though granted... headphones help), remember people come to them videos to see reactions not the original but a reactor has to respect the song and react to it, not talk on top of half of it or be preoccupied with other stuff (cause i 've seen in past this happen too)
It's not that I don't like reaction videos, but reacting means listening to me.
Didn't watch that footage before, but it's the most appropiate follow-up video for David's 1st reaction on GLS.
I came looking for cupper and I found gold.
I watched the one where they are recording for Imaginaerum but I never watched this one.
I'm a 65 years old finnish guy and Floor makes me cry every time I hear her last notes. I've been listening 20+ reactions about this song and everybody says she's a goddess.
Only twenty! I think I passed that mark a long time ago! Floor on todellakin jumalatar!
Oh, and that high note at the end?
I wonder if Marco will return. He is just so good.

If you want to see something with an orchestra, check out Epica - Sancta Terra ft. Floor Jansen. It's a blast!
Liva at Retrospect Show. There's a fake one out there which isnt live.
Yes that would be great. It's a nice song.
Hello from France!
One of the best reaction for this song so far! I mean it.
Nightwish is not a band: this is an emotion!
You have to look for "The poet and the pendulum" (but please: do some researches before so you may understand the full background of this song and it will litterally blown you away!)
Then you'll have to look for "The greatest show on earth"
And there are so many more songs from Nightwish: Dead boy's poem, Ever dream, the Islander, etc.
That’s the slow one. The correct speed is out there somewhere
Yes. Damn I hate those slowed down versions. They suck.
It´s interesting to see, how important speed in music actually is.
Also, how the damn are you going to play a certain version, when the other has 20 million views?
Speed always went well with music. Or is this maybe not what you mean
I heard they took this from the bands website, so...?
Right on!
I don't know if I'm the only comment saying this, but your addition playing along with the piano was JAMMING!
I could appreciate him getting all excited and wanting to be a part of it, but it annoyed the everloving F out of me when he interfered with the finale. At least her last note got him to shut the hell up.
Welcome to the Nightwish Army!!! YOU WERE NOT READY FOR THE NOTE!!!!!!
"So this got to be the first song of the show" LOL
When you go and listen to the whole Wacken concert (and yes you will) It will take a while before this props up. :)))

I’m not for everyone! I sincerely don’t mind.

Infantryman-Nightwish Army. US Regiment. Kentucky Battalion
This is the holy trinity of Nightwish songs live with Floor fronting...
Ghost Love Score live at Wacken 2013 ruclips.net/video/JYjIlHWBAVo/видео.html
Greatest Show on Earth live at Tampere 2015 ruclips.net/video/45brzDJKZ3o/видео.html DO NOT CUT THIS OFF EARLY. The Nightwish Army is Murderous behind this Sin. Be Warned. 😏😏
The Poet and the Pendulum live at Wembley 2016 ruclips.net/video/gbn9GczYBkw/видео.html (wait until you have a full understanding of the band’s history before you react to this one. It’ll add the context you need to fully appreciate this emotional masterpiece.)
And not to be a dick; but the W pronounces as a V...Vah Kin. And the J in Floor’s last name pronounces as a Y. Yawn-sin. 🤣
That whole concert was a masterpiece. Gabriel will guide your Journey through the art that Nightwish is. Cheers
I don't care what other people say, I loved how you played along. I was very impressed you got the chords and everything in an instant.
Welcome in the amazing Nightwish journey ! 🧚🏻♀️
This sounds too slow, seems to be the blue-ray version.
I absolutely loved hearing you jam along with the song at the end, and your playing is fantastic! What a pleasure to hear! Thank you sir!
A Finnish band with a Dutch singer, singing English at a German rock festival. 🎶
I love how you just hear a small bit of the song and play perfectly along. It always makes me smile how in tune with music you are.
Not exactly in tune this time due to the slowed down GLS video.
Thank you!
Did this guy just basically learn this song in realtime???? GEEZE. . .David is a musical beast!!!!!
Yes indeed, this song is in one word (a freaky) MASTERPIECE!!
and the hair that swings around! just wait until you see "Storytime". There she causes a storm with her hair!!!!!♣♥
But nothing like 7 days to the wolves @ Wembley!
Thanks for reacting to one of the greatest songs in history of mankind.
Nightwish Army reporting for duty!! 😎
Me: "Oh my boy... if you only know what's coming for your next reaction ;) "
Note: If you like pyro and this genre You MUST react to Epica - Consign to Oblivion live at the Zenith.
Awesome way to close that video!
I am hooked on NIGHTWISH, I need more. Any song from this concert is mindblowing, the hold concert is mindblowing.
I feel like I’ve watched every Ghost Love Score reaction video, and this is the first where the reactor couldn’t help himself but to jam along, and it was awesome.
I really enjoyed hearing you play at the end and it would be lovely to see you playing a full piano arrangement of this song
This live performance is by far my favourite since Floor joined the band!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🖤🖤 This song always makes me cry but I'm also happy at the same time. Speaking of chops, game recognises game 👏🏻👏🏻
You had me at Emerson Lake and Palmer 😀. Welcome to the Nightwish Army! Excellent reaction! Subscribed and ready for the next one!
Calling all NightWish Army!
Mr. Richard Gere here had FLOORGASM!
I loved this reaction.
Looking forward to more Nightwish reactions
First time I see a reaction of yours and I do love the fact that you're playing with them. It's really cool.
Really appreciate the band big screen and you off to the side! Very enjoyable reaction.
Great playing also.
Glad to see you getting happy!
Welcome! , to the wonderful world of NIGHTWISH !!
Keep doing what you do David. I love the points of difference in your channel compared to others. Some of the piano interludes are just magical (like in some of the Bring Me the Horizon songs) and actually bring an extra dimension to the songs themselves.
Me too!
I can see you enjoyed that one. Got me all hyped too
That reaction was one ongoing Floorgasm! (term for people's reaction upon hearing Floor Jansen sing...chills, jaw dropping, hyperactivity, spontaneously crying, etc. etc.) :P
If you want to continue your Nightwish journey down that rabbit hole, as it seems you want to, then I suggest pinning Gabriel Bardac's post, because the links provided give the best versions (per general consensus) of each respective song. Enjoy the ride!
Thank you for letting us be able to watch your debut of Nightwish with you. Greetings from the Netherlands.
You have to watch the full show, goosebumps every time man! ;)
Hi David, Nightwish are one of my favorite bands, along with another great female fronted symphonic metal band that you might like, from the Netherlands the band EPICA, this is one of my favorite live performances from them:
Epica - Unchain Utopia (OFFICIAL LIVE VIDEO)
David - as a NW fan, it's not only gratifying that a reaction channel loves the band we have loved for so many years on first hearing, but you seem to have instantly UNDERSTOOD their guiding ethos: "We serve the song, not our egos".
Kiitos! ("Thank you" in Finnish). 🤘
As you already appear to be aware and appreciate Band-Maid, I'd like to introduce you to the premiere Japanese all-female Metal band - LOVEBITES.
Also this song was much later in their set that night.
buttload of people? We were just about 82,000 enjoying an August weekend (Thursday to Saturday night) with metal fans from all over the world
Nice reaction, and always great...
cheers!!
🤘🤘🤘
REALLY loved your reaction. Subscribed and PLEASE do more. You wil not be disappointed by this magnificent band and their Valkyrie Goddess FLOOR - not to forget the master musicians and the Metal Mozart Tuomas' writing. Just enjoy the ride Brother.
Hallo, great Reaction. Welcome in the Nightwish family, and congrats to your first Floorgasm 🤗 and what i like, you see ELP live..👍forget, look to Gabriels list.it is a good way, to go deeper
I've seen a lot of reactions to this performance, but I've never seen anyone just jump in and start jamming with them. Impressive!
It is certainly a masterpiece and it's like that live always, so check out more songs. React to Song of Myself, Storytime, Ever Dream, Ghost River etc all from the same concert. Enjoy🤗
This is only way how the songs end...
Nightwish army is coming very soon.
Hi, greetings from Finland 🇫🇮❤️
Nightwish is not a only band, it's A lifestyle too 🙂
