  • The 2020 Hilux has just been launched a few minutes ago by UMWToyota. Here we go with the video that many of our viewers have been waiting for - the Genting HillClimb
    Remember, of course, that it is a truck, and it is not as agile as a car. Still, it can give a jolly good account of itself.
    The top-of-the-range 2.8 has become more car-like, with Toyota Safety Sense, and more power.
    Through sheer coincidence, our test car came from United Star Corporation, our friendly Toyota dealer in Aman Suria.

    500nm of torque with the right gearing, right tyre will be an advantage when off road and the softer suspension will also be better for the passengers due to less bouncing but usually at the expense of load carrying.

    • @YSKhongDriving

      I have been driving Hiluxes for more than 20+ years both on road and off road and most of the time flips are driver error. Note:- it's a truck, not a sports car so you should handle it as such, watch your cornering speed, line and traction and a Hilux will be good to you.

    yeah i always wondered how these would handle on curvy roads. they start understeering very early at slightly aggresive steering input. front is not eager to turn. interesting stuff. 2.1 ton vehicle.

    • @manroshansingh
      @manroshansingh 3 года назад +1

      Modern cars are designed to understeer instead of oversteering because it's easier to control a vehicle that is understeering. These things can handle well if you know how to balance the weight transfer. However, there is a big risk of roll over if an accident was to occur

    • @HR15DE
      @HR15DE 3 года назад +1

      @@manroshansingh it oversteered numorus times when ys got on gas lol. what i mean is that given slight steering angle and tires start making sounds already. that means vehicle is pretty close to its limits of turning already. but other smaller cars have way higher limits. design has nothing to do with it. its literally physical limitation that this car is 2.1 ton and has tires for high load and suspention system is not good for corners. i wanted to see the diffrence and now ive seen it. not everyday you see a guy cornering with a hilux lol

      @@YSKhongDriving I understand, I take advantage that I have another question about the load index.
      In Colombia the streets are in very bad condition, there are holes everywhere, and it is usual for the tires to end with bumps. Can a tire on a car with a higher load index help prevent these bumps?

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  3 года назад +3

      Yes. Higher load index means more sidewall reinforcement. However, the best way is to try to avoid the potholes. I also suspect perhaps the tyre quality may be different from what we get here. We also have bad roads here, but dont have the type of problems you mention.

      The two are so distant from each other. The fact that you are considering the Hilux means you probably need it. Whatever it is, go get the one you need the most. To me, the Hilux is a good strong vehicle, oerhaps more suitable and more durable considering your traffic, and the condition of your roads. It is also a lot of car for the same price.

    The problem with all these brake based traction and stability control systems is that they can be hell on the brakes. Don't be surprised if the brake fluid boils after extended drives in harsh conditions where the brakes are often applied as the systems desperately try to keep the car within permitted margins. Half hour of relying on TC to negotiate harsh off road situations with plenty of wheel off the ground scenarios, especially in HOT Malaysian weather, is very likely to cook the brakes alive.

      The Raptor suspension itself is worth about RM50k, so what do you think?

    Ak xsuka hilux sbb xstabil. Ambl corner pun ak xconfident. Kalu ranger steady. Ak tau la sbb ak da guna dua2

      @@faizalkifli1844 d max xpasti la. Sbb xprnh bwa yg msh baru. Yg sy bwa d max tu pun yg mcm da nk runtuh je chasis. Jd susah nk komen kreta d max. D max yg lma sy bwa. Yg baru sy xtau. Tp ranger mmg corner mantap. Kalu sy speed jalan lurus then depan ada corner msh yakin lg sy tekan minyak layan corner. Kalu hilux sy xberani la. Nk kena betul2 pro mungkin berani la layan corner laju2. Tp confirm tayar bunyi. Kalu ranger blum lg sy dgr tyar bunyi kalu spedd time corner
