Obama sees Yang, but cannot openly endorse him yet. He's been promoting the some of the same conversations Yang has since he left office. Some examples: his speech in South Africa about the rise of automation and AI, and the necessity for some sort of universal basic income; he also had a big hand in the new Netflix documentary, American Factory, which points to Yang's campaign's central platform.

Whilst Andrew Yang has used the "4th industrial revolution" talking point throughout his campaign, it is unfair to characterize Biden as stealing this idea from him.
The term "4th industrial revolution" was coined by the German economist Klaus Schwab in an article for Foreign Affairs back in December 2015, www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/2015-12-12/fourth-industrial-revolution.
Klaus Schwab is the chairman of the world economic forum, famous for organising a meeting every year in Davos of the best and brightest business leaders from around the globe.
In January 2016 around a month after Schwab coined the phrase, Joe Biden was invited to the world economic forum where he gave speech about, you guessed it, the 4th industrial revolution. Joe Biden was the first american politician to take this term seriously and is probably responsible for introducing the term into political discourse, remember this was before the election of Trump.
I get why it seems like Biden is stealing from Yang since it has been a big part of Yang's campaign. Just see that Biden was actually one of the first US politicians to use the phrase well before Yang.

So, right now it's between Bernie, Biden, and Warren as, at this point, I highly doubt that any of the other contenders are going to magically rise to the top. I'm not really sure if Warren has what it takes to helm a superpower. We need her more right where she is, in the Senate. That leaves Bernie since Biden is falling hard. And even though a lot of people seem to think that Biden could beat Trump, Trump would practically eviscerate him. That and Biden won't get people to go to the polls. We need someone who is going to get things done and not just coast through their term as president, like Biden did throughout his entire career. :/

Joe is partially responsible for Trump being elected. Why? I’ve heard him credit the authors of a few ideas he’s used, not to mention that he keeps crediting how Thomas Paine, Nixon and MLK JR, etc had same goals in mind, UBI. As in it’s not his ideas. It’s not about him, it’s about us. Humanity. Yang is a real leader and real leaders know how to surround themselves with smart people as well as develop others. The people are responding so well to him, Biden isn’t the only one taking queues from Yang, and you know it.

Anyone watching this should watch Andrew Yang’s interview with Joe Rogan from February. Yang said all the good parts that Biden said, but offers MUCH better solutions... Biden basically copied Yang’s assessment of our country’s situation, but it doesn’t seem like Biden has a very well thought through solution... Continuing education is not going to be a viable option for MOST people when automation leaves them jobless. Yang, to me, has a better pulse on where we are as a country and on what we need to do to bring unity and progress. As Yang says, “Not right. Not left. Forward.”
And Andrew Yang would get a great job in the new Democratic Administration -- see Cabinet.

If you're seriously backing Yang, who has no shot at getting the nomination, let's be honest, you should be excited Joe, the front runner in the race, is making part of Yang's platform part of his own. Yang's ideas are much more likely to happen now. Four years ago, Bernie was the only one talking about Medicare-for-all. Now it's part of most Democrats' platforms. That's how it happens, if you're too young to have seen it before. Happened with Obama too. In 2008, he didn't support gay marriage but other candidates did. Eventually the whole party adopted it. No one accused Obama of stealing ideas, for essentially doing the right thing. That's just how it works, a minor candidate brings an issue to light and in time, the whole party adopts it.
