the coloring is unintuitive IMO ~ we need to find red line in order to drag and drop the app icon. I'd much prefer find the green line and avoid the red box (existing app icons).
Im not the developer this desktop, I and others just try to use it as it is advertised , many features would be helpful, maybe you want to inform Debian of you suggestions, sometimes that is how new features get added to next version, best of luck, t
Your install should have detected most of these, however you can Open the Synaptic Package Manager, when you have Synaptic open click search icon on right side and change to selector to name only , do a search for keyword multimedia, you should get a long list of stuff , some of these maybe installed while others are not , select the ones you think you need and give that a try.
