Warlord have announced an upcoming Boer War supplement to Black Powder (perhaps next year) that might raise interest in the period. I couldn't get to Colours this year and it's a shame that SELWG has been cancelled, but I'm going to try to get to Warfare in November so may bump into you there.
Nice update, Terry. Your figures look fine to me, and the review of the books and brief history of two "lesser known" conflicts of history I found very interesting. As a "senior" hobbyist myself , I also struggle with keeping a steady brush these days (amongst other challenges! 😆). As for production values, I really enjoy your quiet style and suspect there are many who likewise do so. Great stuff. Cheers!
Absolute bargain those books. A war I have always wanted to wargame, given that my family fought the British, but never figured out how to approach it, since it really was a war of two halves. I highly recommend Deneys Reitz’s “Commando” for a good, cynical Boer perspective on the war. Really lays bare the shortcomings of the overly democratic Commando system the Boers used.
I have been trying to get hold of the Long Tom gun but not easy to get in France. I'm still painting Boers, hundreds of them. I am also in isolation, no clubs near by. Good video!
Bit of a hero of mine Nez Perce 'hear me my warriors, my heart is sick and sad...from where the sun now shines, we'll fight no more forever'.... very enjoyable video Terry 😊 cheers
Great update Terry. I am all cor the production value and straight to the point content you present. I too may seek to go to warfare bit will need to check on dates. During next year I will have more time to post and paint so really looking forward to re connecting. Having a challenge finding time and space to do so currently...thankyou for posting ..

If you can get a copy, Conan Doyle's book on the Great South African war is a superb read.
