Just spent an hour listening and watching reviews then scrolling through hundreds on ebay and I have watched your video and Boom decided and bought. Thank you good sir, for saving me hours.
I bought a cheap £15 number 4 and it does work really well but you couldn't meditate with it as it is quite noisy. The other problem is the fact you have to put it in the middle of the room so if you're watxhing tv its quite a bright light in corner of your eyes. For 15 pounds its awesome but id like to try the angle one to have on the bedside table.
#4 looks great, but I wish the lasers would twinkle or move instead of being so static. I do love the wave effects and how they can change colors. Thanks for the video!

This is a really good side-by-side comparison, and I like that there's the infographic so you know what to look for, especially with the lower end models which are often rebranded and resold. I'm gonna try out one of the cheaper models (#2) but #5 looks particularly nice to me. If I end up liking it, the one I order I may move on and try one of the Sega light projectors.
That's very generous of you, I don't think it beats Mark Robers squirrel maze (1 or 2), nor Mr Beasts recent epic Squid Game, but I'd be happy to accept 3rd place! 😆

I love the black and white projections. I never thought I'd consider the original Sega over the Flux because usually newer is better. But better for me means less light intrusion in the room. I want to turn this on as I play video games in a dark room and I don't mean for it to be a distraction visually. Excellent video and thank you for helping me focus my terminology as I search for a projector.
i bought number 4 recently because i liked the fact it was also a bluetooth speaker. however, if any of the models after it were speakers as well, i would've definitely bought one!! they looked so realistic

Excellent comparison with very clear imagery by which to assess the differences. As an amateur astronomer, the last unit stands out for its representation of the dark nebulae. These under appreciated galactic structures are the cold molecular clouds within which gravitational collapse leads to the formation of all stars and 'solar systems'. One such was our own cosmic cradle. From a dark location many of these dusty clouds are visible to the unaided eye, and binoculars are just about the ultimate instrument for their more detailed observation.

oh my god thank you thank you! It's impossible to find a comparison of what these look like. I didn't even know the high end things existed. I think I'm content with the cheaper ones (#4) but some of them are downright pretty. I like having the ambient light.

I bought the flux a couple of Christmas's ago for my daughter after watching your review on it. She still say's its the best Xmas present she's ever had as it helps her sleep. She's 33 btw lol I would like the DS-1 but it is expensive.

You're welcome, glad you found it helpful. So many people focus on what is being projected it's easy to forget what happens to the rest of the room. You'll defo want one of the later ones to keep the room dark.

Hi. I have projector model number 2. Works fine until suddenly the stars and aurora can't rotate. The remote control still works fine ( all buttons + arrow ) . Do you have suggestion to fix it?
Years later this is still the best video. I bought #2 loved it so much got another one. I just pair them with other projectors really brings a calming mood. 5-7 are nice I will admit just wish there was more variety.
I like 5. There are some stars, but not so much that there will be too much light to sleep. Six and 7 are also good options. One through 4 seem like more for a kids room.

I bought the Sega Flux II with 7 extra discs. Have not opened it up yet as am saving it for when I move to Europe from Australia to b with my Mrs, within the next few months. Cannot wait. The extra 7 discs are colour and not the standard black and white stars so looks more realistic

Personally, I think I like #2 It's pretty & the lights up the room enough where I can put away laundry or something and not trip or bump into things in the dark, its not too bright either. Do any room "environment projectors" have disparate, yet animated scenes? By that I mean can any single projector for instance show a planetarium with twinkling and shooting stars, and then by swapping a disc (or whatever) have an immersive animated aquarium with moving fish, bubbles, etc?
i'm torn, i want this for my 3 soon to be 4 year old, she knows all the planets and she would love this projectors what i can't decie is between the nebula and flux, i love the rgb effects on the nebula but it's just a random pastern where as the flux is actually showing the actual stars.
I've got number 4. It's nothing like a planetarium but it does give a nice ripply/watery coloured glow to your ceiling which is very cosy. Problem with mine is I like the movement switched on but it's noisy. It also has to sit on the floor and it's bright.
I would like to ask your help… I am trying to match the projector I have now and it has developed a short in it….😢if I send a video on how the stars move and dim do you think you can guide me to the right one?
