On this episode I continue with the ongoing restoration of this 1979 Kenworth W900A truck to turn it into a tribute movie truck to the one used in the 1977 classic movie Smokey and the Bandit with Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason. If you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for??? ”How’d you do same as always? Yup, bout normal … I lost”
In this episode I start prepping for the new interior the DayCab Company made for this project and due to the rainy weather, I decided to work indoors on the 36” sleeper bunk. 1st off, I installed the sound deading mat and then foam insulation from Noico. This is the same product I used on my 359 Peterbilt “Little by Little” as it was easy to install and worked fantastic to make it quieter in the cab and improved climate control.
I also received the materials for the new TwinStick Garage I’m building, a 40’x60’ building to store my three trucks and allow me to work a little easier in inclement weather.
Finally, FEDEX found my place and delivered the new interior panels from the DayCab Company and they turned out amazin. They even threw in a little extra surprise for me that is going to look amazing in the truck!

I was one of the first people to watch Bruce Wilson’s attempt(s) at restoring that Freightliner. So glad I found your channel, keep up the great work.
The thing that really gets me is how you just do not realise what a great bloke you are or why people want to muck in and help out. And the even cooler thing is you are just blown away when you do get that help like those interior panels. You were like a kiddie at Christmas or a Birthday. Too many RUclipsrs are like 'whatever' and assume they are worth it when mostly they aren't.
You appreciate people and that is why YOU Sir are appreciated.

It took me two days to watch this one Mark, all I have to say about the new interior is "WOW"!!!!!!!!! That is some good lookin I was impressed with the interior on LBL but this one is absolutely Beautiful two ten pound thumbs up!! See you on the next one

Your life is fantastic, you are your own boss, don’t have to depend on anyone.
No mangers that can’t buy new equipment to help with your job or say we can’t hire anyone even if they are earning billions a year. If you make a mistake no biggie. You just laugh and Redo it. No pressure to get the job done.
And best of all, when your done ,you can stand back and say, wow I did that. All best bud.

Turns out I just used that exact brand of sound deadening mat on my John Deere 4430 tractor under the cowl and kick plate panel. It was astounding how much it reduced the noise! Only took a couple pieces! I did another tractor as well as a neighbor’s Sound Guard cabs so far. Highly recommended……you planted the seed.

Awesome series of videos on the snowman truck have watched them all and look forward to seeing the truck completed. Just a suggestion to keep more of the noise out of the cab and sleeper as well as keeping the heat out or the cold in I would add a thin layer of rockwool behind those interior panels and add some rigid insulation to the floor of the bunk under the mattress. With the extreme temperature swings you get up there in Alberta you will be glad you added that extra layer of protection.
