Great videos, thanks Jon. On the vQFX-PFE device, I get this error that says "No more network devices" and "No bootable device", I get the same error too on vMX-VFP when I try to install the vMX appliance but the control plane works just fine. If you've run into something similar and have any pointers, please feel free to share. Again thank you so much, your content is amazing!!

Thank you for your kind words Keziei! I usually encounter that error when EVE-NG is unable to recognize the software image name specified in the qemu folder. Double check the naming convention used for software image folder and file names to match the requirements in order for them be detected.: www.eve-ng.net/index.php/documentation/qemu-image-namings/

Try this direct link to juniper's software portal:
      support.juniper.net/support/downloads/?p=vjunos-router
This second link should direct you to all of juniper's free virtual lab images:
      www.juniper.net/us/en/dm/vjunos-labs.html

Sweet man!!! Worked to a charm!!! The PFE and RE are shown in 1 Junos box but how do you connect to another PFE and RE box with the Ethernet interface?

    • @jongreenit
      @jongreenit  Год назад +1

Glad you were able to add the devices to your lab. On the vMX you can connect the ethernet ports from one PFE to another PFE. However on the vQFX the interfaces are swapped, you'll have to connect the ethernet ports from one RE to another RE.

Hi jon , when i try to download it say
"Software download entitlement is granted for customers under the following scenarios
Juniper Product within the first 90 days of the hardware warranty period.
Juniper Product which is currently under an active maintenance contract.
Juniper Standalone Software Subscription which is currently active."
and there is no download link.
Can i get a link the these files ?

Hi khurramaziz, to get access to the virtual images you must create a free account with “evaluation access”. This will allow you to get access to images like the vQFX, vMX, and vJunos Switch. Here’s a link: www.juniper.net/us/en/dm/vjunos-labs.html

Hi there Jon, I am having a wee problem with Eve-ng and the vQFXRE and PFE images which maybe you recognize and can help. My Eve-ng lab is up and running with the vQFX RE and PFE images and everything looks ok. However the Interfaces are displaying different labels depending on the type of command/show command I enter.
When I connect the devices it shows the xe-// Ports. I can also configure the xe-// Ports. But when I do a show interfaces terse, the CLI displays the "em" Ports 0 - 14, not the xe-// Ports. If I do a show interface xe-0/0/0 etc it displays "device not found".
Do you recognise this? Maybe I did something wrong somewhere - i've no idea. Thanks for any advice

Interesting, this would be a new one for me. Have you tried re-adding the software images to EVE-NG, or installing a different software version for the vQFX appliance? Optionally, since from the operational mode command show interface terse, it appears the system sees the virtual interfaces as "em" ports instead of "xe" ports - try configuring the "em" ports with IP addresses in config mode and see if that reflects in the new output of "show interface terse"

Hi..My LAB is working but could not able to download the Juniper router/switch image file. When I try it said "You have encountered this error because your account privileges do not currently permit access to the information or service requested. Software download entitlement is granted for customers under the following scenarios." If it is free then why I am not able to? Apart from that if you have the image can I have that?
