I have watched a lot of your videos, brother, and you're fishing in the same places we fish, and catching a lot more (based on appearances, anyway), and a lot more consistently than we are, and we're in kayaks too! That being said, if we see you, we're definitely shaking hands...and stealing your fishing spot. 😏
Id have to agree with you about boat vs Kayak. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have a boat but a kayak can just sneak in anywhere. Congrats on that giant! Happy you finally got one this year 🙌
Yup, I usually jig a 4" berkley gulp, black shad or smelt, with a jig, 1/8 ounce. I use the tube head jigs (even without a tubes), since the hooks are small (#2) and stripers / wipers tend to be so picky when jigging standing later. But when trolling or fishing faster moving water, you can get away with bigger hooks with flukes. Thanks for watching!
I just keep tension on the line until I feel the fish coming up, the hybrids/stripers will do that, eventually, and I take what they give, but they'll usually do another dive or two, after the second dive, that's when i'm thinking of netting, hybrids anyway. I use light line/small hooks because it gets more hybrid strikes. Thanks for watching!
Good morning, Todd and I love your hybrid striped bass. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and keep on fising! 🎣🐟

Thanks so much, Jared. Yeah, 10' or shallower, advantage goes to the kayak for sure. Thanks for watching!
Nice catch! I've been wanting to target striper for a while now. Got any lure suggestions?

How do you know when to reel to not snap the line? Just when they swim towards you?
