  • I went jig fishing at Lake Arthur, Pennsylvania in early May for wipers. Nice Crappie and PB Walleye for Lake Arthur! “Who's bird is that? That's Russel Wilson's bird."

Nice job, Todd! That walleye is a beauty. Good call on the decision to retreat. Rain that heavy isn’t worth the frustration.

Congrats on the PB for the lake! Beautiful walleye and crappie! Interesting about those fish cribs. I've never fished around those before.

Awesome! I've fished that lake often, mostly for bass tournaments. Caught a few wipers, but never got a walleye out of there. That was a nice one. Great job!

Good job Todd looks like a productive day at Arthur! This weather has been tough, hopefully it will stabilize soon so the fish will start biting better.

Thanks so much! Yeah, the weather has made for an inconsistence bite, for sure. It's a stark contrast from the gentle and consistent warm up we had last year. Thanks for watching!

What's the secret Todd my wife and myself fish that area at least twice a week same bait im using black shad or watermelon pearl 2.5 to 4 in any advice

Hey Dennis, I get blanked at Arthur, too. Only the good days make the videos. It's really a timing thing, I try to fish week days, or pre-dawn on the weekends, avoiding the crowds. Look for temperature spikes, sudden heat, a few degree water temp makes a huge difference the following day , even after the air temp falls back down.
In the spring, the fish are suspended, so I'm casting over the top of those porcupine cribs or just trolling down the lake. Late spring, early summer, the shad go into bait balls again, so look really closely for minnows coming to the surface, it can be anywhere: a bird diving for a shad. Chances are, fish are pushing the minnows up.
And do a constant retrieve through the active area. If that doesn't work, let that black shad just sit on the bottom, imitating a minnow injured in the bait ball frenzy. But even doing all that, it's a hard lake to fish with all the pressure, no doubt. Thanks for watching!
