    What i noticed about this figure it's a mix of both chapters.
    Because the headsculpts are from chapter one which is noticeable due the cracks and hairstyle plus collour.
    And the suit itself is from chapter two due the pompoms and different collar.

    I’m not going to lie, when you took that exacto knife to that collar, my heart rate increased significantly.😅 Loved your take on controlling the staining process with dry compared to wet pigments. The end creation made this Pennywise extra creepy. I’d have to lock him in a cabinet at bed time. Really well done 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥

      LOL Thanks Luis! Yes, the fear of potentially ruining a high-end figure can be nerve-wrecking. I always say, practice on a cheap alternative. Whether it’s a cheap toy with soft goods or just on scrap materials.
      An alternative way to fine-tune the skills needed for figure customization is to try your hand at scratch-built dioramas since you don’t really risk “ruining” anything. Glad you enjoyed the video and more to come soon!

    Just found your channel and must say I love the tutorials and how to with weathering and dioramas. I'm in the process of watching all the videos. Something I'd be interested in seeing would be a how to do blood effects on figures and dioramas. Like blood on the figures face or the fabrics as well as blood or gore on diorama floors or walls!
    Also in future videos, could you get a little closer to show the final results? For example, the Pennywise head, I couldn't see the up close impact of the watered down paint weathering in the video.

    • @metamorphiccustoms
      @metamorphiccustoms  2 года назад +1

      Thanks so much for watching!!! That’s awesome feedback! I’ll try to keep getting closer shots on those close-up details.
      Sure, I can make a Blood and gore tutorial! Had just a tiny bit of blood on the storm trooper helmet tutorial, but I could go a lot further with it.

      @@metamorphiccustoms that sound great. I've started adding horror figures to my 1/6 scale collection, Jason, Freddy, Pennywise etc etc and starting to figure out some good lighting and also how I'll get a good horror detolf display. Part of that is having some extra blood, gore and dead bodies to liven up the effect of the figures in the display. Also thinking about blooding up a phicen body which would make a great video tutorial as well.
      I'm still new to doing my own customizing and REALLY appreciate you giving the details on what to actually use to get the best result! Thanks!

    Does the pigment affect the texture of the clothing and will it come off easily?

    • @metamorphiccustoms
      @metamorphiccustoms  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching and for the question! No, the pigment will not effect the texture as long as you apply it slowly. (Don't cake it on.) However, it will also NOT come off easily. There is a small chance that if you wash the fabrics, you can remove the pigments, but I assume the results may not be great. Instead, you'll have to commit once you start applying them. The good part about using dry pigments instead of wet paint is dry pigments are easier to control while applying lightly. Start in an inconspicuous spot then move on when you feel you've got the technique.

  • @Kot-cj8nz

    Hey Desy, thank you so much for this amazing step-by-step tutorial! Is there a way to wash/remove the pigment if you accidentally apply too much, or want to revert the figure back to the original? Additionally, say the cloth is too dark, would you recommend pigments if you want to lighten the fabric up? I recently got the DAMTOYS Ezio and feel his tunic is a bit dark. I wanted to lighten it up a bit :) Again, thank you!!

    • @metamorphiccustoms
      @metamorphiccustoms  2 года назад +1

      Hi Cameron you’re welcome and Thank you!!! There’s no real way to wash off pigments. (They may or may not come off.) Just start by using very small amounts and then gradually build up from there. The good news is you really do need a lot of pigment for it to begin showing on the Pennywise clothes. So the process is pretty forgiving versus using paint.
      As for lightening darker soft goods, that’s typically done with dyes or a bleaching process. You could use light pigments but you may get more of a stain or dust effect.

      @@metamorphiccustoms Sorry one more thing haha, I once heard that you can use water to help fabrics sit properly on figures and help with posing... Have you heard of that or recommend anything like that? I've struggled with my hoods sitting well on my figures and am curious if you have any advice for that. Again, thank you!

    • @metamorphiccustoms
      @metamorphiccustoms  2 года назад +1

      @@Kot-cj8nz I’ve never done it myself but yes I have heard of it. Basically weighing down the fabrics so they sit properly. Typically water is only temporary. In order for it to hold it will need some kind of binder mixed in to the water like glue…but that a bit more permanent. Not sure if you want to do that to your figures…

  • @johnyrico4440
    @johnyrico4440 Год назад +1

    A little late to the game, but here it goes. If your using powder for weathering: does it come off easily afterwards? how well does the pigment stay in the cloth after your done?

    • @metamorphiccustoms
      @metamorphiccustoms  Год назад

      Good question. Normally you would have to “seal” the pigment after you apply it with a clear coat spray. However, I didn’t do that with my figure. The fabric seems to have absorbed the pigment and it does not come off when I’m handling or reposing it.
      Thanks for watching!
