Christmas 2006, brother and I unwrapped our own GBA SP's, this was the first game my parents bundled with it. Played the absolute shit out of it. Bought a cheat code book at a school book fair, started playing as all kinds of different characters and changing my saber color. Those were the days man, I look back on this with fond memories.
I never played the GBA version, but I played the PS2 version, and my brother and I could never unlock all the characters, so we just used cheats. I think one of our friends had a cheat book or something.
I remember when I played the Xbox Version I never knew how to unlock all characters Yep I’m not kidding so I just played a bunch of levels hoping I’ll get something out of it. today I know exactly how to get everyone
It’s kinda stupid that the main characters couldn’t get their other episode costumes but then both the droids and clones get about 5-10 different paint jobs.
One thing I do unironically like about this game is that every force weilder gets his own special ability, such as Obi-Wan and Maul getting the Force Push and Dooku using Lightning, which he wasn't even able to do in the console version at the time. In the console version, the Jedi characters all play the same and the sith get a few extra abilities, making them effectively stronger characters.
Probably the most obscure game I thought no one knew about, I remember having it growing up on my gba and it was weirdly fun, with the game having some levels that were not present in the complete saga such as an actual level on the attack on uutapau and the battle of Naboo from the gungans side. Never beat it as a kid until a few years ago I replayed it on my ds and finished it. To me it was a very nostalgic game and I still pick it up time to time to play it.
The developters for Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars on the Nintendo DS made a similarly brave move: The level called "Rookies" dosen't feature any of the titular characters, it's just Commander Cody and Captain Rex.
I didn't have a gameboy, I played this game once at a friend's house. I instantly went home and recreated almost every single level of episode I. I didn't have any of the start wars legos at the time, so I used 2x3 triangles with 1X4 or 1x3 to specify enemy types. The droids were little lego "tanks", almost like the wii tanks, and the jedi were humans with fake looking lightsabers. It was a blast! I made trees, cities, etc. I add environmental damage, which helped me enjoyed it more as I had a new feature the game never had.
You are forgetting an important aspect of the original release; you got a lego Yoda minifigure. I remember getting this game for my birthday and being excited to have a lego Yoda.
I was obsessed with this on DS, and it's fascinating as to how different it is to any other lego star wars games. The fact that if you died, it sent you back to the beginning was mega stressful. I also had shrek 2 and shark tale. Fun times.
everyone has that "this was that game I had as a kid" game, but I don't know how to feel about the fact that THIS was my childhood game, thanks for letting me relive my... happy memories, without being killed every minute
You're unlocking memories I forgot I had. I loved this game as a kid... good times man I used to have a paper with all the cheat codes I had figured out simply through trial and error. It was THIS GAME that taught me the Konami code. Also I loved cheezing the 1st Dooku fight by using a code that transforms you into a little Droid that caused earthquakes or something... I dunno, the screen shook and rocks fell from the sky. Also shout outs to the final Anakin v Obi wan fight, always loved that level. The clips of it in this video broke my mind, as I had completely forgotten about it.
This was actually the first video game I ever completed. I remember thinking this game was the most amazing thing ever. Of course I had very little knowledge of gaming at this point and nothing to compare, but I look back on this game with fondness.
Sometimes i think about starting a RUclips channel, im sure it makes you feel loved when you have so many subscribers liking your videos so much support from total strangers.
This was the first video game I ever owned. I was a lucky special child, and got a Pikachu GBA as my first console, along with Lego SW 1. Even after losing my priceless console in a house robbery, I still have that Lego SW game. I will never forget my humble beginnings, as long as I have it!
Funny thing that the best part about this game is making its long overdue comeback in The Skywalker Saga... That being the random quicktime lightsaber clashes that occured during Boss battles. Those who don't know much, these quicktime events required You actually put effort into them. If you win the quicktime event, you knock some health off the enemy. You lose, and the enemy knocks considerable health off of you. Those really spiced up the Boss fight sections, and am glad they are incorporating that in the New game :D
I had this version of this game growing up, I really remember it but not like this hahahah can’t believe I thought that this was mind blowing at the time 😂
This was my only lego Star Wars game, I remember playing it for hours and hours on end, although I was young so it was probably a lot better than it actually was
I got the gba when I was five years old. Never beat this game or the original trilogy. I just gave up. The description is accurate. The game is like the Dark Souls of lego Star Wars
I remember there being a weird glitch on the Douku fight on Episode 2. If you played as Jar Jar and defeated him like 80% of the time it would crash the game or at least make it black screen while some audio looped but if it didn't it would just randomly show Anakins mother in the final cutscene before the level ends
The yellow chest in the cutscene makes some sense since at that time episode 1 obi wan only existed in a yellow skin form, they recolored a lot of yellow only characters like qui-gon for the video game
The genuine nostalgia from seeing all of this again... jeez, I had so much fun playing this as a kid - I forgot how broken and painful this game is to play, and how it annoyingly difficult it was at times, but... still made me happy as a kid, and the music is probably the most nostalgic thing I got from this game. (I can express my frustration with the third level of the Attack of the Clones episode, because I lost my mind getting lost, not to mention the Dooku boss fight... good lordy, this had plenty of issues but still was nostalgic and pretty funny at times. We won’t mention the second level in Episode Three though.)
I distinctly remember being 9 years old and playing through the episode 3 levels of this game on a plane to Sydney for a family holiday in like 2008, I got to the Obi wan vs Anakin level and could never beat it

The CULTURE SHOCK I had after playing my brother's copy of this game and then getting the PS2 version for myself....HALLELUJAH the accurate lore and character models, not to mention all the John Williams music.

Recently, our mom was cleaning out her closet and she found one of the transparent blue GBA that belonged to either me or my brother. It still works and with this, I decided to go ahead and try playing this game for nostalgia. It's a bit annoying to get used to the controls and how clonky it feels, but I still enjoyed it regardless. I loved it and so did my brother.
Kitty draw, the moment when Jar Jar is surrounded by droids and they all just die is a reference to the moment in film when he and some other guys are surrounded but Anakin blows up the Trade Federation spacestation and they all just turn off. So, no Jar Jar Sith Lord confirms here.
I remember getting this for Christmas, the year it came out. And a few years later when I got a DS and the WII the idea of playing Lego Star Wars made me super uneasy because the GBA version was such a challenge for me.
