I played this a lot as a kid, but it took me forever to figure out how to take down the ATATs on the hoth level because the textbox went too fast for me to read as a kid. But I liked the five movies I could beat.
The skywalker saga gave us a huge open world and the largest character selection in any LEGO game. Who gives a rats about character customisation. It’s just going to be forgotten and not used. The most important was gameplay, open world and giving you the opportunity to play with any character. I swear, you people getting upset are just children.
Idk why comments were turned off but I turned them back on (I think I was just being a stupid dumbo and accidentally turned them off when setting the description)
This game is definitely one of the best DS games. In my opinion it had all six movies all the levels. It was so fun, I remember, grinding for general grievous and eventually getting him.
When I played this game as a kid I found this one glitch where if you play as boba or jango and then jump, hover and shoot, then you can jump and hover again during the shooting animation, allowing you to jump infinitely. And so I'd go into random levels with jango and use this glitch to completely break the game, either skipping parts of levels or even just exploring out of bounds I've always had an interest in how games work under the hood, and looking back this glitch was probably one of the main things that fueled that interest
6:30 funny thing you mention this, in Lego Batman on DS they straight up tell you to just use your thumb rather than the stylus for the touch stuff, and I gotta say doing that (I know you can't since you were on emulator) makes it a whole lot easier
The Lego DS games will always have a place in my heart, I had Star Wars 1-2, Batman 1-2, Chima, and Ninjago. I had hundreds of hours on these games and am even considering getting a new DS to replay all of these games again, due to my old DS not working anymore.
Same while I had consoles growing up I preferred the Ds versions mainly star wars batman 1 on Ds and 2 on 3ds harry potter years 5-7 but I do like Indiana Jones better on console
LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga DS is really nostalgic to me getting the game at Easter was really cool and at the time I was 5 years old and never really heard of Star Wars besides Angry Birds Star Wars so it slowly got me interested in Star Wars.
I probably sunk the most amount of hours of my childhood in the complete saga on ds, it felt so much more than the other lego games on ds, content wise
i remember playing the downgraded versions of lego star wars games before finding out my pc can run the best versions and i think ds complete saga is super impressive, they had to trim out a considerable amount of things due to it being a mix of 2 ps2 games trying to run on a nintendo 64 like portable console but it's generally the full experience, it even got the actual music and sounds from the console versions instead of making new sounds and music like the gba versions and the ds version of lego star wars 2 (although some being incorrectly used)
Started playing this on my 3DS about a week ago and it’s really fun. Considering they won’t port the Lego Star Wars games to the Switch this is the best way to play it on the go.
I got this game for Christmas 2012 along with my dsi as my very first nintendo game. Nearly 11 years later I have still yet to figure out how to beat the damn battle of hoth level where you have to tie ropes around ATATs
Hello - TCS DS speedrunner and TASer here. Yes the cutscenes are meneworthy. I swear TCSDS came BEFORE the other versions of TCS, which are pretty much virtually identical. It’s not a port really. What this game is: a rushed mess. It’s insanely broken. I grew up with this game and surprisingly never cared for the cross platform version everyone else is used to. And i didnt realize how broken it was until i begun to speedrun it. enjoyed every second of this review.
I'm kinda curious, what is the most efficient way to grind for studs in this game? I just spent all day grinding for the multipliers and found the grievous minigame to be the most efficient and was wondering if I was right about that
In the Nintendo DS version of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga the developers from TT Games removed The Invasion Of Naboo level from The Phantom Menace, Bounty Hunter Pursuit level from Attack Of The Clones and Chancellor In Peril level from Revenge Of The Sith but the levels from A New Hope called Rescue The Princess and Death Star Escape, The Empire Strikes Back called Betrayal Over Bespin and Cloud City Trap, and Return Of The Jedi called Jabba's Palace and The Great Pit Of Carkoon were merged into one single levels respectively! As well as the character icons from the 2 original games replacing the The Complete Saga character icons from the console version in this handheld version!
I have honestly been fascinated by portable version of LEGO games. They are so inconsistent in how they are executed. They either try to recreated the original console version or they do something completely different. Also btw great choice of music. Pac Man World 2 took up a quarter of my childhood.
i really enjoyed this version of the game as a kid. things the console port are missing are: the over-the-top ship missions (which i think are more mechanically interesting on the ds?), the minigames like the general grievous touch screen game, the little force interactions, and the droid puzzles. i also like that it puts you into a Test Room when you build a character.
Did you know that Lego released Obi-Wans Starfighter last year and it comes with a kaminoan minifigure! I myself always dreamed of having that minifigure bc it appeared in the Lego Star Wars game, so i bought it immediately
This is a very nostalgic game for me, growing up I only had the original LEGO Star Wars on PS2 and I only got to play II and The Complete Saga at a few cousin's houses. It always kind of made me envious that I was pretty much missing out on the entire half of series and couldn't even get basically the definitive edition. Eventually I had gotten this game for either my birthday or Christmas I don't really remember and thought it was the coolest thing. I got to experience the Prequel Trilogy in a slightly different way compared to the original game. And had a whole new roster of characters and levels to finally play with the OT levels. It was only until I finally got a gaming PC did I get the main version of Complete Saga, but I'll always hold the DS version near and dear to my heart.
I played this game when I was a kid and never could figure out how to use the tow cable so I just never got past level 1 of ROTJ even after I played that game for years
I absolutely adore this port of the game, although most of it is nostalgia but every time I think of TCS I think of yodas death sound and playing the shit out of LSWTCS for the ds lol
this port reminds me of the playstation version of Doom. All the jittering textures and aliasing lends to the psx aesthetic, but also the addition of more colored lighting, even if it doesn’t fit, adds to that as well. both were made for hardware that wasn’t up to snuff with the original release, while still playing very similarly, but with concessions made to balance those changes that appear.
I grew up on this game, what a classic. Too bad the Hoth Level had me stumped for several years. Also my copy of the game has been glitched for the past couple years and sometimes the textures will corrupt. The game already has some glitches, but I'm not sure how this happened.
This was actually my first DS game along with Guitar Hero (had the special edition DS) and Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party. I played this one the most, it was my first time playing the Complete Saga and didn’t get to play the actual version till I got it on my iPad in 2013. I still had my copies of Lego Star Wars 1 and 2 on my GameCube so if I really wanted the console experience I just play on there but shit, for what it is. It’s still pretty good. Also loved fucking around with the debug mode
I got the most recent Lego Star Wars collection after not playing since I was a little kid and it’s loads of fun even as an adult. I feel like a big kid every time I play it.
The fact that the last time I saw kittydaw on a livestream playing Lego Star Wars a couple years ago and he’s still doing it is true heart and passion.
You trip up my high I hope you know that😂 hilarious video though like always. Isn’t it crazy to think that the console port is on iPhones these days. So wild
Lego Star Wars the complete saga was one of my first Nintendo ds games and I’ve played that game so much probably even more then the console version though I still think the console is better but I enjoyed the ds game
I literally grew up on the complete saga on ds so many great memories I’m 17 now but played when I was 5 and 6 years old all the way until I was like 8 or 9 I still love Lego games to this day 😎😎😎❤️❤️❤️
The DS version of Complete Saga is the version I played. To this day, still one of my all time favorite video games, and probably the easiest for me to pick up and replay from beginning to end.
Just so u know the ds emulators usually let u change the orientation of the screens and if u happen to have a vertical Montitor use that I've got old one for just ds games and it's a dream but if u got big as tv in living room u don't even need that
I, regrettably, grew up with this version. Graphics were buggy and it was honestly a questionable experience. Fun fact, there IS a debug code in this game so you can just get infinite everything if you feel like it
I remember having one of the Lego Star Wars games for the ds and I dropped it on the bus and accidentally stepped on it cracking the shell of the cartridge. And idk why but I decided to break it more and broke a chunk off of it and put it in my ds and to my surprise it still worked.. well kinda? It ran perfectly fine but looked like one of those old vinesauce corruption streams

How do I beat the Hoth level?
@@jacobluna305 you need to guide the snowspeeder with your finger around the ATAT on the TouchPad.

Yep I had trouble with that too! The feeling of absolute joy when I finally figured it out was indescribable 😂
SAME bro I've never completed esb on ds
Wow even the DS version of the complete saga has character customization. Unlike the Skywalker saga...
Skywalkers Saga has no Customization because they want to sell dlc characters. Its a shame
As a huge Lego star wars fan, the Skywalker saga is one of my least favorite games of all time. It's a complete downgrade imo
