  • I don't know about you, but dealing with injury and being sidelined while I watch all my friends go play bikes is not my idea of a good time. As I've started to get a little older I'm starting to notice that injuries are happening with greater frequency and staying longer than I'm used to. The real motivation for me is to have a healthy body and prevent injuries when possible and deal with them appropriately when they do occur.
Enter Maria Osowski, PT, DPT, who is a licensed Physical Therapist and lifelong Athlete. She has been on the podcast before on Ep. 133 ~ Red Granite Grinder Recap when she won the 144 mile version of that race. This time she's back to help keep us injury free so we can enjoy the sport we love and the bodies that move us!

As a PT for 28 years, I applaud you for this excellent episode that was incredibly relevant! Great job, guys. I hope that a lot of people listen to this episode. We should all be lifelong students of health and fitness!
For those who are born with hip problems such as “knock knees” that prevent them from sitting cross legged, it is often best not to try and “fix” that with stretching into external rotation because you can cause more problems than you help. Hip ante-version is bone structure issue from birth, not a muscle tightness issue in the hips. This is an example where seeing a PT at least once in the clinic can be very valuable as the PT can prevent you from doing exercises that work for most people but can be counterproductive for some.

      Thank you so much!
That's good to know about "knock knees". I've never done any research into my lack of flexibility. Maybe I should!

I came across from the podcast (long time listener) to see the stretches. More of this type of thing would be great.
