Doing RUclips definitely causes one to be vulnerable. Taking the step to speak the way you do is another huge step! Working is so much easier! 😊 have a great week! ~ Deb

Good topic today. Its refreshing to see a youtube creator show and share real topics. This is something I need to work on, as some people will use vulnerability to there advantage. But thanks from Florida! Excellent channel sir.

Kat and I have been talking about our pasts lately. I told her the whole story of father buying a car and he wouldn't have gotten it if he hadn't let me take over at the end. The idea that a woman would know anything about cars in the late 70s is ridiculous. Kat opened about her health since birth and that her dad got a job as a zoo keeper because her mother thought it would be a good idea. We, also, said that many things we talk about we would not share with the general public around here because every one in the bldg. would know.
As a writer, I was burned by a teacher and, recently, a person who I thought was a friend. The thing is, I am totally open to constructive criticism because that is how I learn. Mistakes (or differing visions) is how we all learn. The teacher almost made me give up writing at all. (As a matter of fact, I did for about 30+ years.) The friend just made say, "But you don't like that genre, so you can't really tell if I'm a good writer or not. You have to compare my work with others that you have read." And I pointed her to a page of shorter stories to get the idea of my thought process. She just said that it was stupid a waste of her time to put in the effort. I told Kat (who's artwork is abstract) and we just laughed. I have more confidence in showing what I write. My friend has never written back to me and that is fine. I will write my stories and be critiqued that those who like that type of material. (We were friends since the 60s.)
But be careful who you show vulnerability to because they can destroy you.

It is true that the wrong people will try to knock you down, but for me, it took me being vulnerable to let the walls down to better things. Before that I was too closed and felt that I was hiding the real me.
I also think that those that don't accept the true you aren't part of your 'tribe' and you don't need them.
The biggest things I found about being vulnerable was that it sorted out the 'wheat from the chaff' in my so-called friends group.
One thing's for sure, I've put it on RUclips for all the world to see! Funnily enough, those that I thought were friends aren't watching my channel to see it!
I'm glad you've got a close friend in Kat. It's good when that happens.
      Thanks for commenting. as always.

When you said "please hit that like button" my like button highlighted itself. Had to go back and hear it again to see if it did the same thing, and it did. Kinda blew me away a little lol. Is that something that you enabled or does RUclips do that on it's own? With the way A.I. is progressing, I wouldn't be surprised if RUclips has a voice command that triggers that to happen.

You bring up some interesting thought provoking subjects. I think women have an easier time being vulnerable than men, because it’s harder for a man to admit that. It’s not a ‘manly’ thing to do. Perhaps on your video subject line you could do a segment on growing older and people treating you like you are invisible. Like they don’t see you because you are old….at least thats how it feels sometimes. Thank you for expressing your vulnerability.

      Hi Dian!
I'm a heart on my sleeve kinda guy and so people can read me like a book. I've often tried to 'act' the tough guy, but that's just not me and as much as I wanted to be more manly, it didn't suit me.
I think it's why for a lot of the time I felt like an outsider. I also saw managers in the workplace who made their subordinates feel like fools because they'd beat any suggestions down and if they did use them, they'd claim credit.
As I've got older, I've come to understand who I am and have lowered my guard a lot more.
Actually, I think being that way is more 'manly'. It shows a strength that you're not frightened what people will think of you.
I've found that being honest when I feel vulnarable always seems to work beter for me as people can see I'm being athentic.
So many people live their lives as thought it's a Facebook page and want the world to see how great their lives are, but we all know that's not the truth. We all go through the same things. I just think it's easier if we let people know who we are.
Sure some people can try to take advantage...but I always feel that those that do get payback in a carmic kind of way.
I like your suggestion...let me think on it and I'll see what I can come up with.
      Thank you.
