This is a "must watch" video for newbies. They have so many problems with infill in the beginning of their 3D printing journey and you quickly and concisely give the info they need. For me, the INFILL LINE MULPTIPLIER info is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much. (thumbs up!)
Have been looking around for decent and clear instructional procedures on using cura and starting up 3d printing for 1st time, and well so far you have nailed it so you have picked up another sub. Congrats to an excellent tutorial series
Wow thanks. I’m glad I could meet expectations! I’m glad your liking the series. Im still in the middle of it. There are still 4 or 5 more videos coming out over the next few weeks.
I remember all these setting that I used to have to tweak but so far with my new X1carbon. Not any more. There are good arguments on both sides of the open and closed systems. I love that at least one of my printers I can just print. Worth the extra money. Also for my bed slinger I always use a brim on the first layer
@@ItsMeaDMaDe I only started printing a few months ago, and painting just a couple of weeks ago, so it's always helpful to see these kinds of videos in case there's additional tricks squirreled away in them. While printing is a time-consuming and aggravating pasttime, when it produces results, they're usually great. I look forward to maybe doing some minis of my own in the future.
@@badatgames4127 Ha I can't agree more about the time-consuming and aggravating pasttime. If you just started painting I have quite a few tutorials but in my playlists i have a beginner series on painting 3D prints that might help you!

Love the information but I feel I'm way too old to remember all this (will have to watch all of your informative videos over and over to get it to sink in. I'll probably be dead before that!! LOL! I send all the people I meet that's just gtting started in 3D printing to your channel because of the excellent information and how you present it. Thank you.
Thanks for this most impartant information. Could you let me know if a model using honeycomb structure, is infill density matters and consider in percentence ?
im trying to set the infill offset for x and y axis, but it doesnt show up, even when selected from the setting list naither print setting or model setting. 😢
Yo bro can you update the connect infill polygons part of the video at about 29:43 i think cura removed that setting i cannot find it. Or if i am wrong can you lead me in the direction to finding it?
Glad your liking them. It’s taken a lot of testing to break it down to make it easy to understand. Ive messed with blender but I’m not great at it. Never touched 3D builder.
I have a rather flat model with areas I want solid. I've tried several infill settings and none of them cap off the final layers. Lightning was the worst. Suggestions?
for infill line distance, does cura calculate distance from the center of the line or from the edge? If i have an infill line 0.5mm thick and i set distance to 2mm then will the distance be calculated from the center of the line or from the edge of the line?
Great video with fantastic tips. However the problem i have is my nozzle always grinds/scrapes on the infill when going over 30%. The z offset is perfect and the nozzle does not scrape on the walls or top and bottom layers only on the infill. Please could you help with this? I have enabled z hop, stripped assembled printer, reset slicer, checked extrusion and it still drags on the infill. There is a short video on my channel of the scraping in action
This is a great tutorial series and has helped me overcome problems with my extruder. I've done the extruder calibration, temperature tree, flow calibration, bed leveling, and a few cube tests. I'm wondering since the results of these tests were incorporated into the slice on subsequent test, is there a particular order they should have been run? I expect the test results from ealier effect those of later tests, but should I go back and rerun them (in a particular order) to fine tune the results? I have to believe that had I run the flow test before the temperature test I would have had different results.
Super good video. Lots of info I didn't know. One question, Isn't infill area just dealing with XY, hence the mm^2? I think it would mm^3 if it was considering Z, and would be volume.
I have a problem with my anycubic kobra max not printing over infills on the top and not smooth print on the bottom of the area where the tree support connects. I know this is wordy but I've been trying to figure this out

Connecting Infill Line Setting: continuous infill line, adds a bit strength and stability. Infill Line Direction Setting: adds strength or flexibility to a certain direction. Infill Offset Setting: changing center of infill is useful in low-density print. Infill Line Multiplier Setting: increasing the no of infill lines, huge boost for strength in expense of time & filament. - Connect Infill Polygons : saves times while using Multipliers. Extra Infill Wall Count Setting: creates an extra infill wall for the next layer same as wall but printed as infill. Infill Overlap Percentage Setting: alternate to extra wall. How much Infill overlaps with walls. Gradual Infill: works as an interface for the top layers to save Time & Print and ensure top layers printed perfectly. Minimum Infill Area : awesome setting that prints small area as sold to make it a lot stronger Infill Supports: creates infill only in the only areas that needs infill.
You are a guru on unfill. But the travel on my infill is stupid waist of time. I can send you my Cura slicer file if you want to try to figure it out. PLEASE. It wouldn't reduce the print time without the extra travel a huge amount
Is it just me or does anyone else not feel comfortable with Cura not saving Print Settings without an account, where they want to be able to use your projects and change your products....ANYONE!

Is it possible to have different infill settings for different parts of a print? I have a week point id like to strengthen. Thanks
how can you change the infill angle from 45 or 90 to 10 degree (for the lines pattern)?

CHEP showed me a while ago to lower it, but add infill multiplier to strengthen and also save time

Wall thickness is King of strength. Infill is mostly all about support and surface finish (not strength).
Suspect there may be times that high percentage infill is stronger than 100% as helps transmit force through the part. But nit picking
