My Mum had one for 40 years that was still in great condition, and it went all over the world with us, was used every day for everything. She gave me a little blue one when I was 6, I still have it today (I'm 32), it's too small for me now but I give my puppy a little brush on her back while she naps and she loves it. I have a full sized one, like yours but full natural that I got 10 years ago and it is magic. My sister tends to go through cheap brushes a lot and easily would have spend more than I have on the MP. I only advise people that if you are the type of person who loses things easily, don't get it, but if you look after your things, absolutely get it.
Chicago Style Icon it’s really beautiful on dry hair, I bought the BN4 after watching your vid. I use the Dyson too and I thought having a little BN would be good with that. I’m glad that I’m not the only person who slurges on fancy hair things, totally worth it though. 😍
Chicago Style Icon OH! And I have the B3 in the all natural, I can’t tell what size you have there but it’s a great size. Your hair looks quite similar to mine so I highly recommend.
@@chethornbury2771B3 mixed bristle ivory white "handy" size chose for my hair incredible luxurious results instantly changed my hair and scalp felt amazing. Jen, B3 you can see there's no writing saying which size like the popular or junior brushes.
I bought mine about three years ago also. It is the same style as yours, the Popular. I totally agree with you, I love it and my three year old granddaughter does too. I had looked for years for the original one with a wood handle, but have yet to find one. So worth the splurge! Don't use it with a hair dryer though per the booklet that comes with it. Love your videos!
She mentioned in the video the size of the brush (handy) which is the only one that's not marked with any name like all others. By the way I chose the handy size ivory perfect choice. The color is beautiful.
I think for straighting with a brush you use a ceramic brush because it heats up and acts as a straightening tool. I haven't done it but I heard that from a hair dresser which makes sense because ceramic channels heat so well. Just don't want you to mess up that beautiful brush.
I bought mine eight years ago from Berlin and it is still going strong! I don’t need to buy a new one, it still did not get damaged nor did any other bristle had fallen.
What made you decide to get the mix version??? I have thin/normal hair and I did read the pure boar brush was netter for thinner hair. I can’t decide ahhhh 😱
It’s such a tough choice! I bought the mixed because I had read somewhere that it was easier to brush through the hair. I can’t say for certain, but now I kinda want a pure boar one 😂
How do you wash it ? Do you use any leave-in styling products? How directly do you apply heat when using the M-P brush to blow dry? Am just curious if I'm going be spendy on a brush can I count on it to withstand the blowdryer heat?
I use Oribe shampoo and olaplex conditioner. I also use the tiniest bit of verb ghost oil on the end. I point the heat (dyson dryer) above the brush. I’ve lost count how many years I’ve owned my Mason Pearson & it still works just as great as it did on day one (I’ve only had the dyson for the last 2 years).
Hi, thanks for the awesome review. You motivated me to order my Mason pearson brush. Just wanted to know, can I use it with leave-in conditioner on my hair? Thanks😊
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't see why you couldn't. I would imagine you'd have to wash the brush more frequently to remove the build up from conditioner, but that should be about it. Enjoy your new brush!
Gahhh... I’ve wanted this from the age of 5-I’m almost 36 now... ANYway This is the EXACCCCT kid of video Ive needed, to show my Mister how this brush is so worth it!!! Thanks!
Spending 30 longing for something that you could have easily afforded many times over in all of the time passed, and still not having it bc of needing to justify the purchase to your husband is one of the saddest things I've heard in a LONG time.
I recently bought the same brush and have to say I really like it too. Initially I had to get used to the nylon bristles and found them a tiny bit scratchy but now love it. Great head massage. I emailed Mason Pearson regarding the bore bristles splitting but they said that was normal. Do you have split bristles as well? I also read that the yellow tips of wild boar bristles indicate high quality and was surprised that there are none with the Mason Pearson.
I love that it’s a nice head massage, too! I haven’t checked to see if there is splitting, but I’m guessing there is. Interesting about the tips. I will have to look into that.
Chicago Style Icon i bought a denman brush because it was supposed to be the cheap alternative to a mason pearson, so you could maybe get that for a two year old? 😜
Where did you buy yours? I just bought one from the real real, a online used dinner brand website that has great acclaim and following. I think it might be a fake however. I live in the states and have had a hard time after hours of watching RUclips videos, doing research ext. of where to buy these brushes in the states. I watched your video I don't recall where you bought it. Did you tell us? Any info on that you have would be great. I emailed the headquarters for mason person in England about 8 months ago and never got a response. It seems the large boar bristle only brush is hard to find. Thanks love!
@@jenwhite Thank you. And you found the large boar only ones? They seem to stay sold out for the almost year I have checked on and off. So where your bristles hard on your brush? Mine seems really off from what I know boar bristle to be like.
You should be the Public face of Mason Pearson, like they give away iphones, i would love to see you giving away these awsome brushes, its a product that no girl woman man should be without.go girl

Thanks for sharing your story & for the advice to others. I have been thinking of buying the full natural one - I may just have to do that now 😊

Hi there. The wooden handle one you would have to order from Mason Pearson directly. You can contact them via their website.

I no longer blow dry my hair thanks to this brush. My hair is smooth healthy my scalp is too.

Having the same dilemma! Did you choose? If you did, how did you get on with what you decided on?
Did you decide?
I have the same problem. What did you choose

Never too late to start using this brush 😊
The volume in your hair is ahhhmazing! Off topic - is the Dyson hair dryer worth the price tag?
Thank you! And yes, it’s worth the price. I bought it refurbished on eBay
Yes 100 percent.

I own a boar and a boar and nylon. I use the boar on wash day and day two. Day three or more I use the nylon. It was a splurge year for me.
Nice! I like that combo, I’m going to have to try :) thanks!
@chicagostyleicon It's good to use it on wet hair or only for dry hair? :)
I use it on both!
HI! I notice this is the mixed Bristle one. Isn’t your hair thin ? I thought for thin hair the all boar bristle is best ?
Hi! Yes, this is the mixed one. It’s possible the all boar is better, but I don’t have that one
Have you tried a Denman brush?
I have not... should I give it a shot??
Chicago Style Icon i bought a denman brush because it was supposed to be the cheap alternative to a mason pearson, so you could maybe get that for a two year old? 😜
Lol yeah, that would be appropriate for a 2 year old :)
