How to S-Rank the Devil | Cuphead

- Can't S Rank the final boss of Cuphead? Don't worry. He's a real pain but he's definitely not the hardest one of the bunch. I go through his three spells and three transformations with tips on how to get through the entire fight unscathed.

I saved The Devil for very last in my 200% playthrough. He and the Beat the Devil At His Own Game achievement is all I have left for completion. I’m following this video to complete Cuphead

Protip: the poker chips go from either left to right or right to left, once you enter the second phase look on the two outer platforms, if it starts on the right one, right to left and vise versa for if it starts in the left platform. I figured this out on my own and felt so proud of myself :)

I watched every other guide on RUclips and none of them helped, not the way this video helped. I changed to the roundabout and spread shots and defeated him and got an A first time of trying the roundabout after 3 days of practice. thank you very much

I love how I left the devil for the end and he ended up giving me so much trouble...your guide helped me a lot,I finally beat him today and got the achievement! :D
For anyone interested about a tip on the Long model legs trick of the first phase, I realised using a power EX move (not when fully charged) keeps you in the air as long as needed in order not to get hit. Hope I helped!

Fighting the devil with just peashooter is a nightmare, especially the third phase where you have so many things happening

Yo thank you for the videos, I finally got my last s rank done on this dude and all the tips are extremely helpful. I did have to swap out super 1 for invincibility just for the last stage cause it sucks losing the run to the tears

I DID IT!!! IDIDITIDIDITIDIDIT!!!! I STARTED PLAYING THIS GAME TWO YEARS AGO AND I FINALLY GOT MY FINAL S RANK, DLC INCLUDED! HELL YEAH!!!! (no pun intended.)
Ive S ranked the bosses of cuphead over 4 times each. Including DLC
toke some tries but I finally did it, even with an A rank. THank you very very much

the worst is when he combos the goat when the fireballs are still on the screen. and then sometimes if your timing is really crap, a little purple devil mfer is making his run too.
The three attacks in this fight I have problems in is the spider, spinning fire with the parryable one in the center, and the freaking crying

For me, it took about an hour to complete him on S rank, also he was my last boss that i needed to complete on S rank so im pretty proud of myself. Btw my loudout was: Charge, Spread, Super Art I, Smoke Bomb.

As promised!
What I use for my One Hell of a Time S-Rank try's are Charge Spread Super 1 and Smoke Bomb and my strategy is for the last phases its the ecact same but for the first one i use Charge and use EXs a lot especially for the goat attack because EX in the air keeps you suspended for a bit

For the record, I S-Ranked the Devil by complete accident as Chalice. I hadn't S-ranked any other boss at that time but the Root Pack for an achievement.
During the dragon attack in the first phase, I find it easier to go under the humps he makes and then duck, that way you dodge the attack and don't have to worry about the mini devil fuckers spawning on you.

I'd reccomend charge for the first phase, it takes like half of the time roundabout takes
I did this by accident.
UPDATED FOR THE DLC:
use divine relic
it seems like no one knows this but the spread can actually reach the devil’s head in the first phase, and you don’t have to jump
YOU CAN PARRY THE FUCKIMG TEARS
My load out was
Shot A: Charge
Shot B: Chaser
Super: II
Charm: Twin Heart
for the goat hand slap in the first phase i prefer using my super to keep me in the air longer

When I beat devil on expert for my first time, a got an a. A FUCKING A. I needed to keep 1 more hp. EMOTIONAL DAMAGE

Am I the only one who thinks that The Devil's hitbox on his 2nd Phase onward is glitched? Because your projectiles would just straight up *miss him* when you shoot his face!!!

Not gonna lie. I honestly prefer smoke bomb cuz when you're in a stupid situation, you can just hit Y or X or SHIFT and you'll be fine
Yeah totally valid. I'm pretty bad at parrying normally so I like having the insurance of autoparry but smoke bomb is really OP against a lot of these bosses
@@JustoAllDay oh yeah good point. I find auto parry one of the helpful charms in the game since you only have to jump. But yeah I prefer smoke bomb 😁
Edit: you can actually hit Y/X/SHIFT/Triangle since the game released on PS4 recently
Least favorite boss by far, i have never seen a more unfair boss in my opinion, i fackin s ranked Saltbaler before i s ranked the ahole, and i still havent s ranked him
