This is really the bell tower to the adjacent cathedral. With its alternate stripes of light and dark stone, the Pisa Cathedral clearly shows that it was also sinking unevenly while it was being built.
To clear things up a bit, the title of the video eluded to them showing WHY the tower leans. Instead they showed 3D scans of how they tried to correct the lean.

2024--They recently built some concrete into the ground under the left side to make it more stable. It still leans, but is in no danger of falling.
