As a Writer, this was the ultimate fulfillment and gratification for Carole. And there will NEVER be another Aretha......not even close......never again!
Excellent comment. I would only add that both are writer/performers and both the ultimate at it. I am a jaded old veteran and I cried all day when Aretha passed.

THIS. Absolutely perfect. The looks on the faces of Carole King and President Obama are unforgettable! Continue to Sleep In Him Aretha Franklin. You more than earned your rest 🙏🏾🌹💜
Watching this from 2023 and fighting tears. Feels like looking back at a dream. We had no idea what was coming, how much we'd lose 😭 Glad we at least can hold on to the memories.
The vocal cord surgery Aretha had many years ago for smoking, really held up well through her 70s. She sounded so wonderful up to her very last performance.
Aretha's vocal entrance into the song is unbelievably powerful, just look at the reaction on carole's face and her entourage. I feel the same way every time I watch this, it just blows you away. Only a legendary artist such as herself can have such an emotion inducing presence on stage. The Guy in the back is visibly holding back his tears it's brilliant !

I know Carole King was so happy. also did anyone else notice how the security for President Obama got caught up in the spirit? Also Queen can take off a mink coat and throw it on the floor LOL. I will say this there will only be one Queen of soul.

How does a grown ass man, find himself in tears, watching - and even more so, listening to - one woman sing "You make me feel like a natural woman" to another woman?! The mutual love between and respect for each other is palpable. In my defence, an American president got all choked up and shed a tear too! Bravo, bravo, bravo.
