Thanks for this. I've been to Thailand a few times and now planning a long term stay. Along with rentals I'd also be interested in finding out what the community is like. It's one thing to be a tourist, another to live somewhere long term and make new friends etc
We will be sharing. I think the island has a little for everyone. We are going to be in Lamai as it seems a little more relaxed than an area like Chaweng, although it seemed good there too. Actually, I liked every part of the island. It is just 30 miles around, so it is not far to anything.
i like the Samui rental content a lot, good work! Funny that the cheap deals are almost as tempting to me as the seaview gorgeous pool villas... LOL You'd a ton of views doing vids on the flights, COE, and visas.
I definitely prefer the North West locations. Great beaches, cool bars, and homes that can enjoy the sunsets that are incredible. Not a fan of morning sun blasting straight into the house and hammering it all day.
I might be the opposite and that might be because I am from Arizona. The morning sun in Arizona is bright but cooler... the evening sun blasting into the back of your home is hot and dramatically increases cooling costs... In Kno Samui, I will be good with either!!!

Hi great info. Can you tell me what site you was using for searching for rentals. Lamai is my choice as well going to stay 8 weeks
We joined all of the Koh Samui Facebook groups and asked around in there... We shared what we were looking for and people contaced us.

Sur kho samoui.
Best bet will be to join the Koh Samui Facebook groups and post in there. Prices have gone up a lot recently.
