Was watching the History guy doing a video on station wagons and I thought to myself “what’s the ultimate station wagon?” And this was the first thing that came to mind as I new Chevy made both but wasn’t sure if they optioned any station wagons with the 1A2 trim. You’ve answered that for me. Now once I get my 69 Mustang done I have another target. Thanks.
That one key system was great, I never understood why they ever made cars with 2 separate keys. My Caprice had intermittent issues with the anti-theft thingy and I had to bypass a relay, that problem was a pain to find and fix lol. Great cars, my all time favorites.
I wonder what a the purpose of a police wagon would be. K9 unit maybe? Maybe medical as well. I wonder if this is what what departments liked to use before they got really big on SUVs.
When I searched for videos of these cars I saw one that was a crime scene unit for NYPD. I can see the wagon being great for moving equipment, evidence, ect. I'd imagine they'd use them for k9 as well and any other specialty stuff like hazardous material or underwater investigations (scuba diving for evidence or bodies) I bet theres more cool uses they had that I can't think of. Way more storage then the Explorer Police Interceptor, better looking too!
Omg when I first heard of the Police wagons I looked for videos and this was the first I saw, then a bunch of videos later I was looking at regular caprice wagon videos and commented that you should get one of these. I'm finally now just checking out your list of videos here. Awesome stuff man I so badly want one of these 1A2 packs with the spotlight and any other cool police kit like push bars. This Is a perfect car that can do anything you need, I don't get why wagons disappeared in favor of heavy, ugly, tipsy and unreliable minivans and suvs, let alone this disgusting crossover phase.(Now that ford got rid of all cars in favor of crossovers we can expect the proper car to die altogether, I hope Ford goes with them if that happens lol)
Crank windows! My old friends dad has a 95 caprice wagon, non 1A2 but it had crank windows and was used as official car. Its all different now. the first thing he did was power window it
Prices are all over the place. You can get a good daily driver one for under 2k, or a nicer one for more. I see roadmasters on ebay with low miles go for crazy money time to time
Dude has a roadmaster and a ss in the back straight legend !! This will forever be the best cars

Wondered that myself, they had the technology why not use it?
Sweet looking Caprice wagon. I remember this generation Caprice. I found it more attractive than its predecessor, the 1977-91 Caprice.
2-56 rear axle - aargh - I thought the 2-90 in the 4 door was odd enough ... gonna go 3-23 posi in our '96 LS Resto-mod ...
Carro maravilhoso
Carro lindo
Carro show
5:07 Have you seen kids lately man ? From 1995 to now , the kids are crazy . You need that shit in the car to protect yourself from them.
Looks like you have a separate engine oil cooler from the radiator. That was also a police option.
Love the review of this car is beautiful
Nice car man, really nice.

A lot of police wagons over the years were used for crime scene equipment, like cameras, evidence tags, crime scene tape, stuff like that
also used by fire depts for chief/ command vehicles
Boy I don't know what type of kids they were hauling in that thing but they were prepared to haul them LOL
Great find
Great video !

I always liked the looks of those older Caprice..i? Capriceses. Fat, big, boats. I like the Crown Vic for the same reason.

Same, so beautiful
Crank windows the rarest wagon

Scott Krafft sold it a couple years ago. I see it time to time though
+moldymac I wish I could have a car like that. I'll probably never be able to because of all the rust up here. Maybe one day.
Clean ones are still out there though, keep looking and you'll find them. This car is in mass now, where are you?
moldymac Chicago. I guess that's not much worse than MA. Any idea how much would one of these would go for?
