I love how he says “he puts up good numbers as a 5’7 middle schooler against grown men” but totally shit on him when he’s 6’1 averaging 40+ points in a season and going off to college
Lindsay Lane Christian Academy. 437 students K-12. 119 for the H.S. 1A classification with 7A being the biggest in Alabama. Listed as not offering football - not even 8 man or 6 man. Small, private schools can allow middle schoolers to play varsity sports. Public schools that offer those sports to their middle schools do not due to liability. He might make varsity as a 9th grader in a larger school, but doubt his career scoring is as prolific.
And, could you dig up and post the footage of you going against him in high school? Also what are his shooting performances? Because 6'1, 170 is not small for college so there has to be other reasons a guy with a 45 point, 4 assist record is flying under the radar. Finally, I know this is fashionable, but based on this video, he is as far from Steph as Tuscaloosa is from Los Angeles. First, Steph is almost 6-4, can dunk off his left foot, his right foot and both feet COMFORTABLY. Steph can also do 360 dunks. He's no slouch athletically. Finally, Steph is a wiz WITHOUT the ball, even in college, whi h allows him to get away with not being the quickest with the ball, and Steph has a comfortable range up to 30 feet. All I see in this clip is a ball dominant point guard shooting from the high school 20 foot line. What he reminds me of is a more disciplined, bigger Julian Newman or LaMelo Ball if he didn't grow to 6-7 and didn't have all that overseas pro experience. That said, I hope I'm wrong, as he seems a nice kid and I wish him well.
@Ethan Erez every single nba player can 360 easily, they just don't do it in game cause they are tired and sore due to all the games and practices they have.
Guys a bucket for sure but he goes to a 1a in Alabama and his dads a coach but I’ve seen him on the circuit and he’s a bucket for sure but idk if he’d be doing that at a bigger school and if his dad wasn’t the coach but credits to him he a buck for sure but he’s very talented and consistent and a good shot maker for sure
I’m from bama and played ball 1a comp is horrible like not good enough to make our schedule we was beating schools by 30 plus in 6a if we would’ve played some 1a schools it would be ridiculous
There was a dude named Tyreke Key in a neighboring county that averaged 50 his senior year, but the comp was trash. He broke penny hardaway’s point records for the state of Tennessee, and scored over 3,000 points in high school. He’s going into his senior year at Indiana State and he’s averaging like 16 now I think.
Though high school ball isn't at the pace of college, the players out there are doing their best to win. This kid was simply skilled and has applied maneuvers and tactics of professionals early on. I think he saw himself at the professional level, so that was his vision. These other high school players are likely the best on their schools. But this young lad does remind me of Steph Curry, models himself after pros, and it's unveiled in his confident strong playing.
Yeah g-d is that puppetmaster in the sky somewhere pulling that kid's puppet strings so he can average 45/game right? Makes sense. Don't take any glory for yourself give it to yahweh, or whatever his name is, up in the sky.
Honestly I remember a guy I grew up that was averageing 40 points in HS because he was 6'5 at nearly 240 pounds and nobody could stop him he was a physical beast playing the game of basketball but like all sports he got injured and wasn't the same after that. Ok soo that same guy right played football too and was one of the best players in the state in 2 sports. Think about that. Thats pretty good doing that in 2 sports man. Amazeing. Basehor Linwood Kansas High School 1996. The guy was a beast.
In baseball, if you don't have at least a 90mph, you won't get noticed no matter how good you are. In basketball, if you are under 6'5 and white, the same thing applies. It is a blind spot that exists in both sports that cause teams to miss some really good players.
I disagree. Though high school ball isn't at the pace of college, the players out there are doing their best to win. This kid was simply skilled and has applied maneuvers and tactics of professionals early on. I think he saw himself at the professional level, so that was his vision. These other high school players are likely the best on their schools. But this young lad does remind me of Steph Curry and he models himself after pros, and it's unveiled in his confident strong playing.
Great story... I disagree with the comment about his athleticism/jumping ability. It is a god given feat but you can absolutely train your vertical to get higher. The science and equipment they have today has changed so many athletes.
steven I still don’t understand why it’s not a nationally allowed that middle schoolers can play varsity basketball. I played with my varsity team for a summer and fall league then when actual season happened I had to play Jv cause I wasn’t allowed to play varsity. I understand middle schoolers not being allowed to play varsity football ig but not basketball
He’s about to suit up with my high school buddy Parker Hazen, excited to see what that team can do. They were one game away from making the tournament last year and only lost one guy!
Stats unfortunately don’t mean much when it comes to recruiting especially when it comes to recruiting kids in smaller private schools across the nation as typically the competition is lower than public schools. Eye test alone i don’t think his size has anything to do with his lack of recruiting. It’s his athleticism. He’s not playing above the rim and he really doesn’t look that quick laterally compared to a lot of other athletes he’ll be matched up against at the next level. Some of those drives against 4 people he literally moved in a straight line and defenders just made it look like they were trying to stop him without actually moving in front of him. Signs of weak competition. Nobody scores 60 In a game by accident so I’m sure he’s gonna be successful and can hoop, but the next Steph??? I doubt that. Hopefully I’m wrong tho he seems like a real dope person
Granted, he's not Larry Bird's size but, he has the same work ethic. If you'll remember, Bird was said not to be able to jump, wasn't fast, much like this kid. Larry just out worked every one, like this kid is doing and will do in the NBA.
He’s not Zion but Zion didn’t play again good comp in high school either then everybody doubted him saying he wouldn’t do it in a AAU season but dominated damn near every team that he played against
Fact is, many of these Christian academy schools have so few students in them, that if you can walk and talk, you can play. I refereed over 6000 games in a 30 year career and have seen this type of situation many times. His competition level plus the fact that he probably did not get on a good AAU team killed his D1 chances. Today, it counts more if you have a good AAU experience where the competition level is greater. His other down fall from what I see, is the fact he shoots the ball off of his ear. This is not good technique and will greatly hinder him in college as it will be much harder to get his shot off when shooting off your ear. But, good for him. I hope it works out for him. Hard work can overcome many obstacles. Now, lets talk about Pistol Pete. Averaged over 42 a game without a 3 point line. Then you have the passing and ball handling effect and we are on another level. Pete was traveling after HS at 18 across the country putting on ball handling exhibitions. They called it Show Time. Then goes on to college and literally lights it up as no one has since. This kid has a long way to go but he simply looks pretty average. I wish him well.
It's not hard to average 40 points a game in high school. Just be on a team that will allow you to shoot 30 times a game. Just getting the ball 15 times every game is enviable for the great majority of players.
Bruh sharifs cooper is 6’1 and 160 and is not super athletic either and is ranked 20. Trae young was the same in his hoop and ranked 18. It’s not about his build, it’s his competition. He doesn’t play legit prospects. U never saw him play Jalen Green, josh cristopher or any of those guys
So we're all talking about Jalen Green and there is this guy averaging 45? They should have set up the 2 teams against each other to settle once and for all.
my question is, how do u average 45 and still be pass first, like ur not gonna come across that many easy opportunities to score while being a pass first guy, you have to make your own shots, and to average 45, hes deffo looking to make his own shot rather than pass
You say that until you play against them, trust me, we played against some kid that averaged 34pts and we were like, “Yeah he must play trash competition”. Then he went and dropped almost 40 on us. We went 4 rounds into the playoffs too so we were pretty good too.
Lmao idk why everyone calls him trash cuz look at mikey, putting up almost the same numbers and plays terrible competition but no one wants to talk about that.
Do a video on the real G.O.A.T Kira lewis because Tommy Murr not touching him, and lets be honest he did all that at a private school if he played any other team from Huntsvillehe getting exposed because Jemison, Lee, and any other team that got real hoopers shutting him down.
In 5-6 grade my team played Lindsey lane. Also I watched my varsity team get destroyed by Tommy murr and I think he had like 35 points. He's a great player so my friends and I were surprised when he went to Lipscomb. Like if you've watched him play in person
It was a great video until you brought up Steph curry lmao you lost me there. But in all serious this kid is good....anyone who puts up those kind of high school numbers can obviously ball. The real question is will he make the NBA. In my opinion he can make but it will be a tough and long road. If he grows another few inches to 6'4- 6'5 that would really help. His game reminds me of a mix of jordan mccabe and kyle guy.
@@versatillion15 lol I said a mix of Jordan and Kyle guy who actually is in the NBA right now. McCabe is more of a facilitator but their handles are very similar. If you don't know who Kyle guy is go look him up. He was killing at Virginia. What do want me to compare this kid to lebron or Durant?
Chosen One 203 hell yea compare him to Giannis & Kawhi all that lol just joking but it’s just something I noticed that ppl only compare white players to white players..I wasn’t saying you were wrong but I’m sure there’s other comparisons out there like Kyrie or dame lillard

He’s 5’11 and one of the tallest on the court.
That’s prolly why he’s not cocky but going against 3 people at a time even if they suck that’s hard
That's what I was thinking
