OG southern Oklahoman here. Plainview was a 3A (maybe 4A) high school, which is a smallish school in Oklahoma. Typically, small-town kids in Oklahoma get overlooked by major programs (see: Wes Welker), which is likely why JB didn't get offered by major blue blood programs, especially when you have so many 4-5 star football players in Texas to choose from.
To what extent is the nfl to blame? The same off-season they gave J.Gordon a 8 game suspension for hitting a blunt, and R.Rice and 2 game suspension for knocking out his fiance.

He’s not gonna have empathy/sympathy for an athlete that was talented enough to make it somewhere he (Matt) never would have had the opportunity to and ruin it over their bad life choices. Because if Matt was talented and fortunate enough to make it to that level, he knows he would have done everything in his power to make the most of it. Simple as that

Sounds more like jealousy to me. Jealous of his natural talents and in Matt’s eyes he wasted them because he didn’t utilize them the way Matt thinks he should. Maybe Matt doesn’t live up to someone else’s expectation so I guess that makes him a loser to huh
Among my experiences in life, I've had the opportunity to witness parts of court ordered drug treatment. Most people beg to enter the program to avoid jail time. There are usually two kinds of participants. The first are those who take full advantage, clean up and get back on track. Some even request to remain part of the program in some way after they finish their probation requirements, just to keep themselves in check. Then you have others who try to get over and get angry with the judge for violating them after they have been given multiple opportunities to get it together. I say that to say this: Matt, you're not wrong for calling on Blackmon or anyone else in his position to be accountable. There is help out here. People have to want to help themselves. It doesn't matter if a person doesn't know why they're doing wrong when they know they are doing wrong. If you know you're doing wrong, seek help if you can't stop. If you refuse, you can't get mad when people refuse to feel sorry for you.
It’s amazing how many teams will double and triple cover a dominant receiver. That’s ok in certain game situations and used sparingly, but in my coaching days we would blitz the shit out of the QB from everywhere and viscously if they had amazing receivers we couldn’t always cover. Send more than they can block and always hit the QB, even right after he released the ball (always legally of course). It can be insane how fast the receivers get frustrated and start screaming at the QB. Keep one safely deep, jam WR hard on the line and blitz the house. You can cover 4 All American receivers easily if you don’t let the QB throw to them.
u lost alot of games huh. that type of stuff only works for little kids who panic and can only throw 20 yards. not multi million dollar professional athletes.
Not just you he comes across super bitter that he doesn’t have the talent a lot of these guys have who threw their careers away but the main thing that turned me off is how he thinks he’s above people with addiction issues. Typical kid from rural America with low empathy and not a lot of life experience
Addiction being an illness is a myth. Not every addict is self medicating some inner demon. Most are just bored, enjoy being high and/or have no self control. I was an addict for years and laughed when people would remove accountability and talk like I was a victim. It’s nonsense. Life is nothing more than a series of choices and we all live and die with our decisions and it’s always down to ourself to make the best ones for ourselves
Addiction is definitely an illness, it’s a mental illness. I’ve battled addiction all my life man and take accountability for every mistake I’ve made. I go to counseling every week. It’s 💯 an illness.
Yo Matt can we get a video on Marcus Lattimore , I grew up in the same city as him and even know people he still knows till this day. But this dude was the talk of the town . The biggest name we have ever seen coming from this town. He’s not the only player from our town to make it to the league but he is 100% the biggest . But it was very depressing to watch his down fall then to never see him make a comeback..
I grew up in Stillwater in the 70s. My Papa was a grounds keeper and student at OSU. Dexter Manley was his coworker and fellow student. Papa used to retell me stories of Dexter's exploits on the field as told to him by Dexter. Papa wasn't a sports fan. When it came out that Dexter Manley was illiterate Papa told me he knew that and he wasn't the only one. I would be interested in hearing the story of Dexter Manley's college years because they are personal history to me and other than Papas stories I have little information. Papa told me when Dexter came out as illiterate that it was common at OSU in those days for college athletes to have tutors who did their academics for them.
10 years of sobriety here, and I can honestly say that it doesn’t really matter what you call an addict who’s actively in their addiction, because most of what’s said is true; Loser, asshole, thief, manipulator, etc. The point is, we’re not ourselves. I see it like a monster that takes over, or a completely different person. At the end of the day, we made the decision to get high instead of getting real help for whatever hurt us to begin with. That’s no one else’s fault but our own, and that behavior honestly doesn’t deserve sympathy or empathy from anyone. Do we deserve sympathy or empathy for whatever we went through that led us to initially use? Ya, we do. But we still chose to use, and Matt is simply saying he doesn’t wanna be around that shit, and I don’t blame him. Blackmon unfortunately didn’t get the help he needed, and instead CHOSE to use until that dick hole monster took over and destroyed his football career. Hopefully he was able to finally fight it off and get his life back.
Matt, the next video you make has to be about Pat White and Steve Slayton. This West Virginia team was even better than a team with Geno Smith, and Tavon Austin.
Arrogant, pampered D1 athlete never held accountable. They get away with many crimes until school or team can t cover for him. Millions dream of his career and he threw it away.
I remember some of the freakish plays he used to make on the football gridiron at Oklahoma State and thought he would do the same in the NFL? Some things just aren't meant for us to understand, I guess? Hope he's at peace with himself these days. 🙏🏽
Football is not everything. He didn't want to play that long. Who wants to destroy their bodies for money. All you guys do is focus on his money. You are jealous he got his bag and left on his terms
I know this is before a lot of people's time on here, but the Akili Smith debacle is super fascinating because that was the year Ditka and the Saints traded away all their draft picks to the Redskins for Ricky Williams (they moved up to 5th to get him). Initially the Saints tried to make the same trade with the Bengals (for the No.3 overall pick), but in true Bungle fasion, they declined and drafted one of the biggest QB bust of all time. I should mention that the first 3 picks were Tim Couch, Donovan McNabb, and then Akili Smith. I don't why this one goes under the radar all the time.
That's the Bengals. Since they became a team they have had real bad luck. Their 2nd draft they drafted their franchise quarterback with the 5th pick overall. Greg cook he started as a rookie and was living up to expectations. Then he hurts his shoulder needs surgery. Plays 1 game in the next 4 years and retired. What was interesting about akili Smith was how many games he played. He didnt get a chance on any other team. Same for Andre Ware with the Lions. It's rare to have a top 10 QB drafted to not get another team to give them a chance.
Kain Colter from Northwestern would be an awesome one. Almost unionized all of football before NIL and was basically blackballed but also fizzled out :/
Alcoholism is not a joke.

D'anthony Thomas, Vic Beasly, Noel Divine, Tre Mason (Think you did that already). Lamichael James.
You expect us to believe you watched this man play at 10yrs old🤣 “Why tf you lying” 🎶
Some people never get it figured out.
Can you please do a video on Travis Henry from Frostproof.
your commentary is well beyond your years. Thank you.
All he had to do was get his homeboy to stay sober and be the designated driver
He was in a major city. All he had to do was call a cab 🚕
Matt your a bama fan do a story on John Wilson Parker that will tell you my age
I do think your approach is definitely a good one. You give respect when it's EARNED!!!
Is it just me or did this video completely change your perspective of Matt .. and not in a good way lol
100% I disliked the video and will probably stop watching his stuff
Not just you he comes across super bitter that he doesn’t have the talent a lot of these guys have who threw their careers away but the main thing that turned me off is how he thinks he’s above people with addiction issues. Typical kid from rural America with low empathy and not a lot of life experience
As a Longhorn fan, I just want to say he was one of the best WR I've ever seen. He destroyed us in 2010 and 2011😅.
Thats real, but these days everyone wants to be a victim
They refuse to take accountability
Addiction is definitely an illness, it’s a mental illness. I’ve battled addiction all my life man and take accountability for every mistake I’ve made. I go to counseling every week. It’s 💯 an illness.
Lmao yeah all the doctors and educated people who say otherwise are wrong, random kids like you on the internet know better for sure😂
I really hope you don't fall into any addictive tendencies so you don't see how hard it can be to get better
Good video bro do one on twisted Lawrence Phillips or gun toting Marvin Harrison
Josh Gordon next?🏈
Yo Matt can we get a video on Marcus Lattimore , I grew up in the same city as him and even know people he still knows till this day. But this dude was the talk of the town . The biggest name we have ever seen coming from this town. He’s not the only player from our town to make it to the league but he is 100% the biggest . But it was very depressing to watch his down fall then to never see him make a comeback..
Maybe it’s just adolescent nostalgia but I think the 2007 to 2013 era of college football was the greatest.
Drugs have destroyed families.
Hey Mike will you do Noel Devine 5 star rb from the class of 2007
I grew up in Stillwater in the 70s.
You should do a story about DeAnthony Thomas, Oregon running back a lil bit ago
Can you please talk about Rakeem Cato
Matt you sound young! I remember knowing ppl like him. I was jealous asking god y can’t you give me what he have.
Aw man “let’s get it” sounds like stunted growth lol
Tough love is sometimes the ONLY thing you can do and it's not wrong to do but if they are at least TRYING to change then support is necessary!
Why are they showing high school games in Arkansas when he played for plainview in the Ardmore,ok area?
It’s crazy i remember him hell of a player sad story 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
He was going to be a beast for my Jags but the other beast got him first it's sad he could a been a HOF
Matt love the channel 🧻 🌊 🧻
I came for sinners not for the righteous. Which one is you?
If you haven't done Josh Gordon could you cover him?
Swing and a miss bud. But you’re also still a kid so you might learn in the future
Oh shit you did my request I appreciate you bro
I bet u never played shit a day in your life
Arrogant, pampered D1 athlete never held accountable.
This area just doesn't get highly recruited . We played him in high school. He tore us a new one.
I love these videos
Please do a video of the Raiders first 2 draft picks from 2020, Henry Ruggs and Damon Arnette!
Football is not everything. He didn't want to play that long. Who wants to destroy their bodies for money. All you guys do is focus on his money. You are jealous he got his bag and left on his terms
Make one on tyrann mathieu. The most electrifying college safety in the country
This dude don't miss 😮
Bro your young and definitely have no understanding about addiction…
Rush: 102/1045 (10.3yds/rush) 9tds

Thoughts on this RB stat line?
thanks matt 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Almost unionized all of football before NIL and was basically blackballed but also fizzled out :/
Plainview was a smaller high school. They were a 2A or 3A school and classifications range from C-6A
Have you ever done a video on tyreek Evans this pj hall love the show
Hope he was able to get his life together and beat his addiction.
One of the best college receivers I've ever seen. Megatron gr8. This was so sad to watch happen.
You lost me with your views of life so if you love someone and they get on drugs you just say f them and that’s crazy!!!!!
