I don't care about IGN but I am familiar with Logan from their Nintendo Podcast...and he's a pretty well rounded dude. I'd give him more credibility than just a random IGN dude.
That's interesting! I looked him up based on this comment and he does seem like a genuine fan. Definitely hope people don't rag on him too hard for this review. Like I said in the video, I at least respect him standing on his opinion that he had to know would be controversial. I just REALLY hope his opinion is wrong.
@@AustinSalyer Well, the guy who reviewed Mario Party Jamboree on GameSpot was a genuine longtime fan of the Mario Party series and even a legend and he gave the game a 6/10 which sure is better than a 5/10 but not by much. Yet despite this, nearly everyone including longtime Mario Party fans absolutely *love* Jamboree and think it’s easily one of the top 5 best in the series myself included. Being a genuine fan of a series doesn’t automatically mean your opinion is gonna automatically line up with every other genuine fan’s opinion
@@Rediscool9 True that! We all have our hot takes. I think the problem really lies in not having a consistent voice with these big publications. Opinions come out of nowhere because it's likely a different person than who reviewed the last couple of games for them.
I don’t see what you Nintendrones are bitching about. 5/10 stands for mediocre, the IGN reviewer didn’t say the game was bad. You’re all just a bunch of man-children fanboys.
sonic unleashed had pretty graphics, amazing soundtrack and the day stages were super fun, but it was brought down by the werehog gameplay, performance issues and medal collection
IGN is the same company that gave Concord a 7 and She-Hulk a 9. I'd say no, we shouldn't be worried. IGN has been a joke ever since that awful review of Pokémon ORAS
Personally I think if IGN rated it a 5 it must be a masterpiece all jokes aside as a big Mario and Luigi fan I think the game looks fantastic and I can’t wait to play it as soon as it releases Also IGN Spain and Adria both rated it a 9/10 so to me that gives me the impression that it’s only really this guy that just didn’t like it so personally I’m not to worried
Same here! I really thought it was over after Alphadream shut down so this game even existing is amazing. I'm so excited and hope the game proves Ign WRONG.
I've watched a decent amount of footage of the game. I haven't noticed any issues at all. Unless it is way worse while playing I can't imagine it's that bad.
I think overall the games gonna be good to most people but for me it appears they havent learned anything from dream team snoutlet wont shut up the game wont stop explaining things the games way too long and the worst crime is that theres only 10 bros attacks and half of them are repeats from the old games the games probably good but ill probably hate it
I definitely see that. But if at worst we are looking at a Dream Team quality game I'd be more than cool with that. I think that game is fantastic other than the pacing.
IGN has their own opinions, and they lost all their credit for rating and reviewing games, so we shouldn't really be worried when theres other reviewers who give better reviews than IGN.
The problem with Plant's score is that it is inconsistent (both compared to IGN standards and Plant's standards). Yes he criticizes many things but also says that the game is "not bad", the combat system is great ("the best of the series"), and animations are pretty. Then he gives a 5. Looks like the score is a bit of a clikcbait. Just not to end up with a boring 7.
2:16 Performance is due to the console is running on REMEMBER the switch is pushing to 8yrs the newer games for the switch ask for bit more power that switch at times can’t provide don’t blame the game blame the console but I’ll say this when the new switch successor comes out it will run this game better
I'm really hoping that's the case. One of my number one hopes is that the Switch 2 runs the TTYD remake in 60fps. That game would be PERFECT after that. Hoping this game gets a similar treatment!
There is one thing I’m worried about What IGN said about this game, does this game have some performance issues? Because if Logan Plant speaks the truth I’m gonna expect Nintendo to deal with it.
being someone thats never played a mario and luigi game i still want to play this one. I am still waiting for a new Punch-Out!! but this will hopefully hold me over lol but i cant wait to play it
This is just like the eurogamer jamboree review where they gave the review to someone who dislikes the Mario Party series, what a "smart" and "incredible" decision
You would think these GAMING publications would have someone on their staff who is familiar with any given series. Disliking a series going in should all but disqualify you from reviewing it.
Nah, they are just trying to be different.. For a game that came out on my birthday, i'll say that it was probably one of the best, Brothership is better than every game in this series imo, expect for Bowser inside's story (THE LEGEND WILL NEVER DIE FOR ME), the combat is great, the difficulty is fair, the environnent is really clean and pleasing to look at, the story is charming and great, i found the soundtrack meh at first, but after releasining to it, I found them pretty neat and catchy for some parts, and this game really gave me the Wind Waker/Rush Adventure vibes, since it was an sea adventure, and I love it, Mario & Luigi Brothership (for me atleast) should have the honor to be 2024's best RPG, and also one of THE greatest revival from a lost franchise in 2024.
Honestly after looking him into him a bit based on some of these comments he does seem to be a genuine Nintendo Fan. In terms of how he felt about Mario & Luigi going into this I don't really know. I respect him having a strong opinion though. Hope it's a wrong opinion!

IGN has been one of the most memeful gaming critics for years; and they reportedly have been getting worse. Letting one person review the game instead of multiple people playing and giving a collective conscious review is a magnum opus on how dated IGN's policy is. And given them being a big company, they have no excuse for this. While I do not trust IGN, it's worth noting that there exist casual gamers who think IGN is the only video game critic out there or is the only one they look at. And lots of them might not buy the game if the review is underwhelming. The worst that could happen is the game not selling as well as it could; I hope for it to be the best seller in the series yet, but IGN is infamous for making games just not sell as well just because of the controversial review. It is still going to sell millions and at least it will still sell well over time given the fandom dedication. But we still want it to sell at least 6 million as opposed to less than 2 million and what not.
Why people are giving ign attention, isn't it what they want, i won't be shocked if this was planned all along just like how some death battle episodes are rigged (by thier own logic)
Dude was justified with that 5. He gave valid criticisms. Nintendo fanboys can stay mad. 😂 As a fan of Mario and Luigi, it’s disappointing to hear it’s not as good as the originals.

Barely a 5? I'd give it a 7 if you're playing PS2, it's a solid 8.5 on PC where you don't have to use those wack ass aiming controls. Still the weakest entry of the 3d GTA era. You're entitled to your opinion though.

IGN’s opinions don’t matter, They gave Sonic Pocket Adventure a 10/10 (Pocket adventure is good but not 10/10 good)
That's insane lol
Let me just answer it for you, based on IGN's track record of what they deem good: *NO. A THOUSAND TIMES NO.*
i don't care if this game is good or bad as long as this series is alive again
we should be happy about that
What’s weird is that I’ve heard from some other reviews that the performance issues are really few and far between and aren’t that bad.
I've watched a decent amount of footage of the game. I haven't noticed any issues at all. Unless it is way worse while playing I can't imagine it's that bad.

IGN when a Nintendo game is way more enjoyable and fun: :/ >:/

NO! I´ve played it and its awesome!
We should not be worried. At the end of the day, reviews are just everyone’s opinions. Keep having fun.🎉

The answer its….
No :3
you shouldn't trust the "Too much water" people..
No single review ever really matters, but to be fair to the IGN reviewer, he at least gave legit explanations for the criticisms he had.
IGN was never a reliable source for honest video game critique, of course we shouldn't be worried.
My pholosophy is if IGN hates the game, theres a 95% chance the game is really good. If IGN LIKES a game, theres a 95% chance its slop.
Wasn't the reviewer for IGN a 'true fan ' tho?
