It's a game with a very acquired taste which is why it hasn't really already. Crytek is reasonable in that they don't expect unrealistic player numbers, they know the product and its consumers.

Ive never played this before, but jesus christ Steam reviews were hit with an insane amount of negative reviews. Is the community really that whiney or is this update not as good as this video may make me think?
@lovezatla it's not that good I've got about 1100 hours in. the UI Sucks. The audio is different. Everything is way too fucking loud or way to quiet. Performance is aweful. I have all my settings on low with a 9700k and a 3070 and I'm getting 70 to 100 frames and sometimes drop 2 50 frames in combat. I used to get 110 to 140 frames in old hunt. Doesn't matternif the game looks good if u can't have good performance with high settings anyway

@celestialsamurai2042 it was okay before, I could get 45-55 fps which is playable for me, I did well, I managed to kill a few squads before. I didn't do bad. But ever since this update I'm getting half of my fps and so I can't run the game at all now..
@Bishop1664 yeah but the game looks literally the same as before on low settings. I dont see a difference. I would understand if there was a major visual upgrade... but there isn't on low settings. So I get less fps with nothing in return
@@petrkdn8224 in-game assets and lighting have been upgraded, that will use more hardware resources regardless of whether you think they look different or not! Certain things cant be switched off now either like post processing or effects quality, thats different to before. Theres a new minimum standard unfortunately..
A lesson to learn from Crytek for some AAA companies. From Battlefield to this, Hunt is my main game since more than one and half and year now, it's s one of the best fps games I've played, such a unique, balanced and inmersive shooter. The game is six yeard old and they just upgarded the engine and realesed more conent... Hunt's game life has a promising present and future.
You can absolutely see a figure resembling Jesus at 15:51. I think the confusion is that it would take up the entire rock face or something. The likeness is a much smaller statue.
17:08 The rats and the guy reminded me of an old German fairytale, which was popularized by the brothers Grimm. It is is called the "Rattenfänger von Hameln" aka "Pied Piper of Hamelin". The german name literally translates to "The Ratcatcher of Hamelin".
It's refreshing to see people not complain about the update for once. Yes, it has its downsides, but they are being corrected, and the gameplay + graphics are great when you get to experience them.
It's literally review bombed to mostly negative on steam, I don't really know why, I've never played the game, but seems like a huge amount of people have their issues.

Many months to get it mostly right when they released it. They promised many things in this update to fix core issues that they did not follow through on.

Honestly, Jack, I'm stoked for YOU when it comes to this game. I love it when you post vids because you've made it so clear how much you enjoy it and wish it was more popular. I hope it starts blowing up like Rust did when constantly improving the game so that you get more chances to really dig into it!
Finally! This update was very much needed, thanks Jack for covering this, I was waiting for your video. Its so cool that this game is one that has a player base sloely building up and not decreasing, and thats for a reason.
@@Vivid114new map, new weapons, new story, new ui, bullet ballistics, new roaming boss, new event, graphics engine update, sound update, new hunters. cod would have built at least one sequel if not two out of these changes and you get this for free if you own the game
@@Vivid114 The game feels more fluid to play. The new map is fantastic. New boss. New weapons. Progression has been reworked to be less of a faff. On console the previous version was last gen so this update is a big leap not just in graphics but also resolution. I think it was 1080p previously and fuzzy/muddy looking. Load times are reduced since everyone is on SSDs rather than HDDs on console too.
3:50 That water does look pretty but fair warning it's also about 32°F (0°C) IRL, all year round. Honestly I live in Colorado and I gotta say they did great with this map.
Ya know, I've always struggled with imagining a new game mode for Hunt, but I finally got it. Round based zombie horde mode. Take the torch where COD dropped it years ago

Yeah, I noticed some content creators only play it when Crytek sponsors them. Whereas some dip in and out because they love the game but it's just not their main. Which is understandable - Hunt has been niche up to this point. I'd love it if that changed
@@theBlackbriar everyone just needs to chill, it's a massive update, they've got server maintenance tomorrow to fix some backend issues and have already stated on Reddit they are working on the critical fixes. As for the UI they released a new video explaining they are already reworking areas of this, the devs are fantastic as is the game.

One thing I really hope they end up adding to the game is objectives and explorable things OTHER than "Go find the boss, try not to die" Like, randomly spawn ore deposits in the mines and say "Collect Copper or Gold" or w/e Just other random side objectives that guide people to certain areas or give solo players something to do like DMZ had. If they take a few notes from THE CYCLE they could takeHunt and turn it into the biggest extraction shooter ever, especially now that its got a fresh coat of paint
Having a non centered crosshair is a hot take on the coldest of days. Not having an options selection for whether you want them that way or centered? For 4 years? Fully restarted.
I had a very similar reaction to the graphics. My first day playing after the update was just me stopping and admiring, never shutting up about how much I love the new look. Last time I was so enchanted by the graphics was... ME1 I think? That was a lifetime ago.

I wish they would have a Hunt : Showdown 1876 to get away from smokeless gunpowder and automatic firearms. Have the usual single shot breechloading rifles and lever action repeating rifles. But also have some muzzle loading firearms too. A military musket with fixed bayonet will be good. Maybe also have a Hawken percussion rifle too.
New crashing record My friend and I very proudly present you the new crashing record. We both crashed twice in the same game while opening the map not only when the boss vanished but just after reconnection.
You know, this reminds me of the time I was 15 years old and me and my buds were drooling over the graphics of the voodoo 3 3000 and the opening sweep of Unreal.
I got affected by the bugginess with the Shadows making them way too damn dark for me, but I handled it. As for the UI, I like the easier comparing Gun Base Stats to Custom Ammo Stat Changes, but most else about the UI felt like it tried to fix it till it was broke and it feels like they metaphorically made almost everything UI related from 'grab it, place it in, done' to 'grab it, exit room, go into whole nother room, place it in, go back to prior room, grab it, exit room, go into whole nother room, place it in, go into whole nother frickin section of the house, rinse and repeat'... and this was supposed to be better!!? O_0 My friends I Hunt with feel like the new UI is directly designed to PUNISH you for playing this game on K & M instead of Controller now and us PC People are 3rd Class Citizens now. They can't stand this new UI so much they've gone on Hiatus from the game cause its current Implementation is too unfun to play now. I think I liked the prior UI way more as well, it didn't go outta its way to force easy tasks to be stupid hard to get the same thing done. :( Don't get me started on why Character Selecting then hoppin into selected Mode had to be so convoluted and unintuitive how its gone about... and why the hell do we select to go into Shooting Range to do things like adjust to the new Bullet Drop then have the UI assign the "F" Key to trying to trick a person into Live Hunting when it was NOT Live Hunt mode that we selected, Shooting Range was! WTF!!? O_0

to clarify; incendiary got a buff; you only have to tag them once to get a burn proc; but it must be inside the weapons' 'optimal range' - if they are outside it's range, or if they have salveskin Trait, then you must tag twice to proc fire.
Crazy how good the game looks. The water textures are amazing, the new lighting is some of the best since the original F.E.A.R and probably the best map of the 4 we have ...and then you see the UI and immediately wish you could just go back to the old Hunt lmao. It's so bad.

It has a big learning curve, but once you get the feel of the game, it's so much fun. Also, it's a hard game at higher mmr where everybody sweats. I started at 3 star mmr. Stayed there for around 300 hours. I reached 4 stars at around 400 hours. Reached 5 stars at around 530 hours Reached 6 stars 2 days ago at around 560 hours. It was all fun and games till I reached 5 stars. After that you need to lock in 😂
When I first made the switch from console to PC, this was the first game that helped me with my aiming. Easy game to get into with just enough scary for first timers of the game. Once you get comfy, you'll press W all day and play the way you wanna play. For me the game has a bit more arcade-ish style aim assist compared to something like Tarkov. It helped me get over my motion sickness on PC. 😂 😂😂
Just being totally honest here, I play this game with the boys 5 days a week, and I can confidently say that it’s the most difficult multiplayer shooter I’ve played. Not because people are sweaty, but the gunplay and movement and listening are all so unique. So I don’t know what the answer is for you, but be patient. The most kills I’ve ever gotten in a match is 6 with over 100 hours in the game. Half the games I don’t get any kills.

@@danielsmith8530 Its just pre-game UI complaints and a few people on older graphics cards. Crytek is addressing both of these issues already.

This game is incredible jack. The love I have for this game grows the more I play it. One of the most unique experiences I have had in video games. ❤
I haven’t played this game is a couple years. I started playing again, it’s so amazing. The map is just amazing, I love the verticality of it.

I randomly picked it back up a few days ago when I saw it offered a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade. It looks SO NICE!!
0:40 actually centered crosshair is optional, it’s just on by default. I changed it back just because of muscle memory.

My friend and I very proudly present you the new crashing record. We both crashed twice in the same game while opening the map not only when the boss vanished but just after reconnection.

The new Environ is simply amazing. Upgrading to the engine 5.1 was a smart move.
You know, this reminds me of the time I was 15 years old and me and my buds were drooling over the graphics of the voodoo 3 3000 and the opening sweep of Unreal.
I got affected by the bugginess with the Shadows making them way too damn dark for me, but I handled it. As for the UI, I like the easier comparing Gun Base Stats to Custom Ammo Stat Changes, but most else about the UI felt like it tried to fix it till it was broke and it feels like they metaphorically made almost everything UI related from 'grab it, place it in, done' to 'grab it, exit room, go into whole nother room, place it in, go back to prior room, grab it, exit room, go into whole nother room, place it in, go into whole nother frickin section of the house, rinse and repeat'... and this was supposed to be better!!? O_0
My friends I Hunt with feel like the new UI is directly designed to PUNISH you for playing this game on K & M instead of Controller now and us PC People are 3rd Class Citizens now. They can't stand this new UI so much they've gone on Hiatus from the game cause its current Implementation is too unfun to play now. I think I liked the prior UI way more as well, it didn't go outta its way to force easy tasks to be stupid hard to get the same thing done. :(
Don't get me started on why Character Selecting then hoppin into selected Mode had to be so convoluted and unintuitive how its gone about... and why the hell do we select to go into Shooting Range to do things like adjust to the new Bullet Drop then have the UI assign the "F" Key to trying to trick a person into Live Hunting when it was NOT Live Hunt mode that we selected, Shooting Range was! WTF!!? O_0

The atmosphere and sound design if so good. Horror doesn't get to me anymore as I'm old as fuck, but this really puts me on edge

to clarify; incendiary got a buff; you only have to tag them once to get a burn proc; but it must be inside the weapons' 'optimal range' - if they are outside it's range, or if they have salveskin Trait, then you must tag twice to proc fire.

tip for you jack, dont need headshots with incendiary ammo against a.i enemies, always a 1 shot to the torso since they burn to death after
That Dorthy was weird bc Overwatch 2 new season just started tue and Ashe has a Dorthy themed skin. It's the only Wizard of Oz themed skin to date.

Crazy how good the game looks. The water textures are amazing, the new lighting is some of the best since the original F.E.A.R and probably the best map of the 4 we have

It has a big learning curve, but once you get the feel of the game, it's so much fun.
Also, it's a hard game at higher mmr where everybody sweats.
I started at 3 star mmr. Stayed there for around 300 hours.
I reached 4 stars at around 400 hours.
Reached 5 stars at around 530 hours
Reached 6 stars 2 days ago at around 560 hours.
It was all fun and games till I reached 5 stars. After that you need to lock in 😂
When I first made the switch from console to PC, this was the first game that helped me with my aiming. Easy game to get into with just enough scary for first timers of the game. Once you get comfy, you'll press W all day and play the way you wanna play. For me the game has a bit more arcade-ish style aim assist compared to something like Tarkov. It helped me get over my motion sickness on PC. 😂 😂😂
Just being totally honest here, I play this game with the boys 5 days a week, and I can confidently say that it’s the most difficult multiplayer shooter I’ve played. Not because people are sweaty, but the gunplay and movement and listening are all so unique. So I don’t know what the answer is for you, but be patient. The most kills I’ve ever gotten in a match is 6 with over 100 hours in the game. Half the games I don’t get any kills.
