Omg same it also remind me of pussycat dolls! Their song my way remind me of pussycat Dolls stickwithu idk why but the members also give that vibe! That's why I love them ❤
yes! i think once yoonchae is old enough they will probably delve into a concept like that since they were training in heels dancing as trainees. also, is it just be or does lara look a little bit like nicole?
It’s simple. Hybe researched the market well. VCHA looks and sounds like kpop. While Katseye may perform like kpop but they look and act like western GGs and their songs are not childish.
Exactly. To be precise, VCHA is like a foreign girl group forced to sound like Kpop. Something that woefully does not sit well with both the Korean and international market.
@@justmytwocentsdontgetmad i really tried to like their song but as a global GG fan for so many years since the 1990s, i can’t imagine VCHA songs as the global sounds. Their choice of songs, the beat, the chord progression are Kpop coded. Global GGs have their own distinct arrangement and beats and VCHA doesnt have those elements.
As someone who watched the show... it was partially because she's Korean and because she was one of the most stable vocalists. Which, if a 13 year old is one of your best vocalists... casting probably needed to do a better job
Also the reason is to grab Korean audience and she can definitely get wow she is so small so talented and grabs and get soft corner in Korean audience he thought like that but it was failed
Its abundantly clear that JYP did not plan his group and just heard that Hybe was doing a global gg and rushed to put his group out before hybe did . With katseye, you can tell Hybe did their research on what look , styling and music is more ikely to break into the western music market .
@@minnimu2023Ikr! It’s like JYP is rushing to debut their global gg just for the sake of being “first”. Like JYP also trademarked the name L2K (meaning they will highly likely also do a Latin survival show.). L2K = Latin (might be South America to Korea
The title is harsh but true. This is why I found it funny when people were saying VCHA would be more popular than KATSEYE because i knew the opposite was gonna happen
Because we thought it would happen like that but people forgot they were under Republic Records and they are known to put their artist in a dungeon if they flop. Just look from September to March how much they were promoted but since Only One "flopped" a little, they said bye.
Katseye girls are doing extremely well! They just debuted and already have 10M mls on Spotify! Their new song is consistent on Spotify global chart still charting solidly! Their debut kinda a let down but immediately hit the jackpot with touch! Congratulations to them and long way to go!🔥
Their songs overall are not the strongest and are a bit disappointing because of how much talent the producers are working with BUT I feel this EP was successful in showing their performance/ dance talent the most. Had they debuted with beautiful vocals but not been able to display their performance strengths I feel they may not have started with as much impact as they have!
@@darnierevalseeven after all this waiting, I honestly still have hope for the girls!! They have no reason to not use these girls vocal talents/ harmonisation skills! On a side note I did some writing and came up with a good chill chorus for a 90s R&B style song. (A B-side not a title track) Let me know what you think about the lyrics. For the melody, you'll just have to figure it out tbh lol. Anyways, I reveal to you the chorus for 'Unreal': Lara: Babe you know it's unreal, I just told you how I feel, but all you wanna do is conceal, don't rush it take your timeeee, you'll find that self looooove.... Sophia: Babe you know it's unreal, you wanna hide, what's the deal? (LARA: what's the deallll?) Why you strugglin' to keep it real? You know it's 'bout tiiiime, you find that self looooove.... I hope y'all liked it! It's just an idea so don't take it too serious ofc ofc.
i'm honestly quite sad vcha flopped, i have watched a2k since the beginning, and the girls are actually very talented. if jyp gave them the marketing that katseye had and a more mature concept then they would be for sure big. but overall i js think katseye is better. my bias for vcha is KG hehe
They were doomed from the moment the lineup was formed, imo. Visually, they look incohesive and lack chemistry. Even with a good concept I don’t think they would be received well
I mostly think it’s because the western media specifically teens like more of a mature concept and Katseye fits perfectly meanwhile vcha was more of kidz bop music so teens weren’t really into it
Exactly I have been saying since vcha release the lack of training plus jyp thought let's push twice success and make push them with vcha songs to twice English version for western audience so that they'll get the same fame literally failed like anything you are absolutely right.
Jype has always been stupid , the only reason why they're been this big is because they never had competition , That's why all their groups and regressing in terms of popularity(compared to big 3+ hybe standards )
@Kat-y_L i would disagree on the fact that they didnt have competition. Look at wonder girls, they literally had tons of competition but still stood out on top. Same with TWICE. Itzy and nmixx are nother two talented artist group, but I do feel like if they had better marketing it would have been better
@lilibi3732 no hate but you honestly didn't even understand what I was talking about . Wonder girls had no competition . There was only SNSD who was their competition but they had a complete different concept , 4 minutes was from cube which was a very small agency back then . Boy groups rules 2nd gen , suzy carried wonder girls' career , bffr , twice had no competition either , the only big ggs were rv and black pink , sm was focusing on exo way more so rv wasn't as big , not to mention they had a complete different concept . Black pink had girl crush concept , anyone who's looking for a cute sound or music automatically went to twice cause they had no other choice , twice monopolized the cute concept to the point no one else could do it , clc is an example who failed miserably doing cute concept because twice was simply doing it better(since they had bigger budget) and rest were all doing gurl crush to copy bp's western success , when itzy debuted they also had no competition , they're the first , 4th gen group from a big agency , the only big group at that time was iz*one who had a complete different concept , so when people wanted teen crush no one was doing it like itzy , g idle , stayc , weeekly , everglow were all from small agencies , they didn't have the pre debut loyal fanbase that itzy had . Only recently when the actual 4th gen groups are getting huge , jype finally saw how people lost interest in his groups because we simply have choices now , more options=less loyalty, nmixx didn't debut as huge as itzy why ? Cause people had other better groups , itzy's declining acceptance is due to more options not because they had bad songs(they only released one or two bad songs ) , of jype ever experienced true completion twice would be as big as BTS and black pink , HYBE was smart , they changed bts's sound and concept to appeal to the western fanbase(even though army's claim that BTS changed concept for the fans and not the grammys) , bp already had a sound that appealed to western fanbase, twice during their peak which is ICSM era should have changed concept to get bigger in the west and not just release few english songs , twice had just as much potential as the other two . But since jype never had to do any hardwork he thought he could do whatever and his groups will get big by agency's popularity . The same concept that twice failed to grab western fanbase's attention he debuted vcha with that concept. Even though itzy did way better in western fanbase jype not once thought maybe we shouldn't follow twice's path but rather do something similar to itzy ? He just debuts a group and thinks they'd get successful on their own , that's why he put such low efforts in vcha , 3 months of training , weird ass concept , a thirteen year old in the debut lineup and he's so self centered he thought he'd do everything on his own , judge , pick the line up and promote , as much as I hate bang pd , he actually did something correctly which is to bring loads and loads of people that are actually experienced in the west and even partnered with a big western agency that has more reach and connection. I might sound like a jype hater right now but he's never thinking straight . He just puts everything to luck and that's why he's on his way to debut two new group while vcha just vanished .
it’s really unfortunate because i think vcha makes pretty good songs but they feel like k-pop songs. youthful concepts and youthful sounding music really only gets attention in the k-pop scene. western audiences are not able to connect with vcha. in my opinion the problems started all the way back when the lineup was revealed. i followed a2k and i liked the girls but they don’t look like a girl group. and debuting a 13 year old was a horrible idea. katseye has 1 minor in the group but at least she’s about to turn 17 in a couple months. everyone katseye fits together and is style appropriately. nothing is overly sexual but it’s not childlike either. vcha’s identity needs an entire re-work. because the tween audience doesn’t exist anymore.
In the west childlike music can do really well if it's marketed properly. I think here that concept is mostly used to market directly to children, whereas in Korea (and Japan) there's a market of middle aged adults who enjoy and buy this kind of music. VCHA should've aimed for either a higher age bracket and had a more glamorous/mature image, or gone LOWER and really embraced the children's market.
I honestly feel like the docu (although was unnecessary) really helped create alot of buzz around the group's members. Now it feels like it was hybe's plan all along, create drama to engage the right audience
I think the documentary was very necessary to get buzz from an audience that isn’t into kpop. Before they debuted, their fans consisted of kpop listeners. With the documentary, I think it garnered a lot of sympathy and interest for the girls. I’ve seen a lot of people I follow on RUclips, who weren’t kpop centered channels talking about pop star academy. Some even made full on analysis on the documentary! I was so surprised, and happy that there was interest for the girls beyond our kpop community. I hope the group continues to thrive, and that HxG treats them well! 🥹
Every realty show got some drama. This is basically the foundation of reality shows. But regardless of that, when you bring together a group of people with different stories and personalities, it's impossible for some drama not to happen.
yeap, I think they researched and unterstood that this kind of show and marketing works very very very well specially on american audience. Just check their reality shows, every participant are humiliated at some point and seems the script always creates intrigues between each other...
Difference btw katseye and vcha Reason why Katseye gained success quick. -Mature concept that fits western standards - Songs have western GP appeal -Their vocals are diverse and every member can sing great - members have diverse skin colours and ethnicity not just light skinned(They understood what GLOBAL gg meant) - Good Marketing team is smart that understand their audience. -They got more American promo before Korean promo -Interesting personalities -Hybe and Geffen took 2+years before debuting this group ,not rush work Problem with Vcha is -Not enough diverse skin colour and ethnicity in the group . -Their Songs sound like Kpop cover songs -No western appeal - Vocals are good but some members have basic vocals - Poor marketing team -Marketed them to Kpop audience more - Jyp rushed the formation of the group ,the members had little training prior to their show.
Imo, I think the main problem with VCHA is their marketing and lyricism. A lot of people have said their music sounds like it belongs on Disney Channel, and that might be why they're not doing well atm. But even if that's true, better marketing would’ve still made them big, especially with young kids and it would have put them in the same category as "XOMG POP" or something.
@nightingale4786 Diversity includes white people, which Katseye is lacking. Plus, if you're going to make it a weird competition of skin color, where has everyone been while Fatou has been in the kpop trenches for years.
I remember seeing the girls of Dream Academy for the first time and thinking “yeah, they will definitely be more successful than vcha” hybe understood that gorgeous, strong and confident women actually open global doors and not a childish group of teens
I just heard VCHA when they were name but dunno them personally I have been supporting Katseye since dream academy 😅😅😅 I check VCHA's debut song but it is not for me
@@WarthWitch-Sunghooned flop is a harsh word... if they will have better promotion and make a better genre that can capture global market maybe they will get famous too
@@xxy3673 It's not even for kpop. What makes their numbers crazy is that they debuted 2 months ago. If you're a western artist and you pull those numbers after being out for two months, that's actually pretty impressive.
It's 10.5 million on Spotify not 9.4 ya just by one album that too 3 months old group they are going to be the biggest global girl group in the history

vcha stans swore up and down that katseye was going to flop just cus a2k had more clout than dream academy well well well how the tables have turned lol
Because they failed to understand the marketing level 😂 they complained katseye behind scenes not shown not able to connect to audiences like a2k now what? hybe knows well when to release what. Talent and market level is very strong on katseye side it was a win win situation
That’s extremely true not a lot of people remember that but I vividly remember people saying that Vcha would be more popular because A2K had more views lol. Personally, as soon as I saw the brand film for dream academy, I knew that the hybe gg would do miles better because they were actually willing to put in the budget. I’m just surprised at how popular they got in such a short amount of time, I would’ve never expected them to reach 10 millions monthly listeners so soon just two months after their debut.
@@doudoulapin468 it’s honestly so baffling that people actually thought vcha would be more popular like in what world💀. Katseye actually looks like a girl group meanwhile vcha looks like a cover group (no offence). The katseye girls have the visuals and aura of a pop star and have such potential of becoming a big gg in the near future. That’s only if they switch up the music concept cus we need something more western from them.
As someone who loves girl groups from pretty much ANY country or music industry, I understand that most girl groups in the West are centred around mature vibes/concepts BUT if JYP desperately wanted to do something cutesy, why couldn't he go in the Spice Girls, Cheetah Girls, Pink Panthress, or School Gyrls direction??? They're the type of cutesy vibes the west would actually eat up. Not this whole kawaii cutesy vibe mixed with Claire's and Disney Channel. It's just TOO childish. The amount of VCHA stans I've witnessed saying that KATSEYE sucks or VCHA is "better", I CANNOT take them seriously when they listen to straight up kidz bop songs combined with Disney Channel and cutesy kpop vibes. 💀 No hate to the girlies but there's SO MUCH JYP needed to fix.
and its not like its hard not to give these girls a less mature vibe and can still be a bit on the cutesy side i mean look at newjeans and illit. The problem with jyp is that he cant make or give songs to vcha that appeals to the western market listening to their songs just feels off. like if a kpop group just starts singing their english track type of feel. and thats not even supposed to be a problem cuz 1. they are literally under republic records shouldnt they atleast provide the vocal training instead of jyp? 2. if they were an american group why couldnt the shows finale take place in la or something, and why were they even made to sing korean songs. 3. the fact that the eldest of the group is only 19 and the youngest is 14 is another concerning factor, none of them are even fully fledged adults or even just blooming into being a teenager.
Jyp thought since twice is eastbalished group and famous in kpop and somehow famous in international fans aswell let's make twice English version and give it on vchas concept since it suits them and tried to push vcha in the shadow of twice and failed like anything, it's very hard he selected more cutesy girls for global group and white washing other girls and making kid bop to appeal to western audience definitely not Going to work they literally need to change whole concepts or making kid bop even they have minors they can go to cute concepts atleast rather than looking like Disney kid dance group
VCHA literally looks like a kpop group with western face but KATSEYE looks like the group we have all wanted after Fifth harmony. Like fifth harmony was so big, so talented, their musics had billion views but they suddenly vanished. KATSEYE looked like they brought back that western girl group hype again.
Katseye is succeeding where Vcha is struggling bc HYBE put in way more effort into forming Katseye. They properly trained all of the contestants, put in more production value, and more money basically overall higher stakes in the group. A2K felt super rushed and low budget, along with Vcha's debut. Plus the hiatus of Kaylee and now the radio silence from them is not helping at all. The members of Vcha have also expressed wanting to do more mature concepts like girl crush etc. Western teens don't like cute concepts anymore and I feel like JYPE is failing overall bc they're stuck in the past and not adapting. I looove Vcha so much but they're being handled entirely wrong. I'm hoping for a rebrand for them.
Well for me.. let's just say that they have good songs, great marketing teams, great promotion, do you think vcha will make it? For me no because they don't have star power or each member doesn't have the It Factor. Watching katseye since DA i already know which member will make it to the group based on their visuals. 😅 imagine having a group with each members having that aura of a star, having that it factor. Oh jeez Katseye is oooooooozzing with charisma.
The problem is you don't understand why this "charismatic" member has been hidden in the back so much. The group is getting pulled down by its weakest link. The songs and choreo aren't great, if you go to YT channels like KPX who don't just say what kpop fans want to hear, you might get a different perspective. There is nothing in their current discography that shows they're particularly talented in singing nor dancing. I don't dislike the songs like some do, but even friends I have casually into kpop weren't into their songs or choreo. We all like different things, though, and I guess for some fans their songs are currently good enough, but I think you all have circle jerked each other inside your own bubble convincing one another that Manon is a bigger deal than what she is... amongst my diverse group of friends that are casual kpop fans, not one even mentioned her when I asked who they liked the most if they had to choose. My hubby says she looks bored (he's darker than Manon if you plan on calling him any names because of it.) I sent the vid of her collab with Yunjin doing the Crazy choreo, and he doesn't understand how she got into the group. Honestly, if someone hadn't suggested Manon was being treated unfairly when she was criticized for missing practices (during the competition long before the doc came out) and Samara hadn't shot herself in the foot with her political views, Manon would not be in the group. All diversity hopes would've been put on Samara for representation.
@@NickaLah honestly i didn't finish reading your comment. The moment i saw "Manon hidden" i just had to stop. We eyekons passed that issue and we don't care about opinions of others outside our fandom. Sorry for your wasted effort but not really. 🤣
@@NickaLahNah, Manon clearly has the star quality even if you don’t know she doesn’t have any experience training way before entering Popstar Academy. Even if girlie is just standing, she has the quality what Geffen has been looking for.
Yes exactly. I hope whoever did casting got paid well cause the initial talent pool was much stronger...even the ones that didn't make it like Samara and Emily were oozing talent and star power. And the final group?! They are all attractive with great bodies and unique features but still look so COHESIVE together. Hybe really did their big one with DA.
JYPE is still doing auditons for new groups/trainees when VCHA has been M.I.A. I really feel like the company needs new employees with a different creative perspective. Everything the company does feels the same/recycled, I know it's the signature style but that doesn't work. The same happened to YG, but at least they have popular groups with huge fanbases (Blackpink). JYP only have TWICE and Stray kids, but even TWICE's popularity has gone down somewhat, despite their loyal fanbase.
"JYPE is still doing auditons for new groups/trainees..." That's the problem right there. Jyp isn't focusing on what he currently has and just always wants "new, new, new" and "the next Twice". Honestly, the company shouldn't debut any new groups or do any new tv singing competitions for the whole next year of 2025, so not until 2026. Jyp has sooooo many groups he can put songs out for: -Twice -itzy -nmixx -niziu -vcha -stray kids -day6 -2pm -nexz (niziu's boy group version) -AND, in my opnion, if they really want to make a gasp react in the kpop world, re debut back Got7 back under jyp for a 3 year contract or something. (I say 3 years because if the idea flops then it won't be so bad) The company seriously doesn't need any more groups or "the next big thing". They should just focus on what they have and put out new music with the artists they got. I'm still waiting for Niziu's second korean ep comeback, and Twice to put out more music this year or early next year. Then I think twice should go on another world tour again. (Usa, france, london, spain, japan, etc) And stray kids and itzy should tour the USA. I think Niziu should have a concert in Seoul and Japan.

Aside from all things mentioned here, while VCHA are all talented and conventionally attractive, they have nowhere near the same stage presence and star quality of every single KATSEYE member. HYBE really did so well in this line up, and maybe also got lucky. They are all not just incredibly talented but strikingly drop dead gorgeous. Even just Manon is enough to draw so many people interested. She looks unreal. They are just the perfect global girl group. And not just with their looks but they can all sing and dance so well. Their success is inevitable.
the fact i found katseye by simply just scrolling shows that they are actually being promoted well, and from there i became a big fan of them, i only found out vcha by that one bot that kept commenting on katseyes vids saying "vcha is better"
My one friend who came back from being in the Netherlands the past few years had no interest in kpop but they started telling me about their new favorite songs, “Touch” and “Debut” and how Lara is their bias. And I feel like that alone shows how successful Katseye is when it comes to being known more globally and appealing to the western taste.
They're pretty much just bringing back attraction to western girl groups. I might get eyes rolling at me but I personally don't really think they're bringing more "attraction to kpop", they're just a comeback for western girl groups and they have that spice girls (or I'd argue Danity Kane) essence that makes them appeal to the west better.
@ oh no I agree about what you mean when it comes to “attraction to kpop” cause at least I don’t want Katseye to be focusing too much on kpop attraction. We need a girl group renaissance here in the west so I’ve been eating up any debuts like Iconixx, iimagine, Katseye and so on. Tho personally I feel like iimagine has the best music for western audiences with them taking me back to the early 2000s but they lack the money and promotions that Katseye has
And also one thing I love Katseye is they are soooo funny 😂😂😂 their lives made me laugh so much coz of their unfiltered self... for me to stan a group I need to also love their personalities... I have a lot of groups that I casually listen but I seldom ult stan...
yeah, it’s so weird to me how vcha is still so controlled and watched under the microscope but they’re supposed to be a global girl group but marketed as if they’re a kpop girl group… with katseye, they are more carefree, they get to post on their own individual accounts, vcha to this day is still not allowed, they also get to wear whatever outfit they want (what i mean by this is, as long as it fits the entire look of the group, it doesn’t matter if 1 member wants to wear an outfit that shows her a$$)
Tbh I really think Hybe knows how to make groups that have the “IT” factor and they make catchy music. All of their groups in varying degrees are pretty successful and let’s not even talk about BTS.
@@AskMe-fl2sm look at hybe ggs. They are popular but at what cost? Their vocals are questioned every single performance because they struggle too much to sing (except Fromis_9 and Katseye of course). They don't have a solid fanbase. They sometimes struggle to sing their own songs. Nmixx might not be internationally popular right now but their popularity is soaring domestically and they have got the skill to back it up.
The reason why I like katseye more Is because they are so diverse! Good job that they pick the right girls to debut! Because they did not stick to two girls being the same nationality each girl in katseye is so unique, in culture and I love how they each interacted!
Music companies need to understand that making a global GG doesnt mean only getting members from the west or japan, it could be the other untapped asian countries too with massive interest in kpop, black pink did it with Lisa, newjeans with Hanni, and now katseye with sophia and lara. Filipinos are obsessed with kpop and india has billions of people ready to be converted to be kpop fans.

I'm just gonna say jyp chose some of the wrong girls to be in his global group. Kendall is a visual but she's more of a kpop visual, he could have chose yuna who had more of a global appeal. Kaylee is the youngest with talent but she would do better in korea since she's just naturally cute, but Gina may have been the same age but had more western appeal. As we can see from katseye they don't have a naturap blonde member, during the survival show people were not voting for the white contestants because they've seen enough of them, Christina probably would have been a better fit there. And then the group would look more cohesive instead of 3 cute members and 3 more western targeted members (camila, savanna, and lexus). They also wouldn't be stuck with their current concept of music.
I mean even yoonchae an nayoung have a Korean feature that's actually not look too kpop but rather more to western..sorry my english..I hope yalls understand
@@im_ischannel7473 Yeah, I also feel like since Yoonchae and Nayoung have a more mature look, they have more western appeal which is why Katseye worked more
There’s no market for a cutesy girl group in the USA, they could be good to market to younger Koreans who want to learn about other cultures though. I think katseye takes advantage of the fact that the girls are diverse, vcha should do the same
Another major reason why vcha fl0pped is bcz they lack the star quality and the attraction of a global girl group. The diversity just not comes out when you look at VCHA. Bcz i think jyp staffs are still too obsessed with korean white skin culture but look at KATSEYE, we have got a brown girl, an african girl with european ethnicity mixed, we've got asian, latina, and chinese-western mixed, and every single one of them are gorgeous looking. Just by looking at them you would realize, they are stars. Which is the very important part that VCHA lacks.
Nah cuz katseye just have this THING that makes me wanna follow their content everytime. I don’t wanna compare, but vcha just doesn’t have that light for me anymore. Consistency is key guys
@@yangqi like what… it’s supposed to a global group… i get the group was formed by jyp and trained in korea hence the korean name but come on republic records really agreed to that name?? the record label that manages ariana grande & taylor swift? surely they knew better… & surely THEY KNOW HOW to manage MEGA stars
BEST COMPARISON by far. Bratz is cute for kids but still badass enough that anyone of all ages can find Bratz cool, Polly pocket is just.... For the little girls or adults who have childish tastes
In my opinion Vcha really didn’t flop, but jyp has neglected them for quite a bit. It’s been now almost 9 months since they debuted and still no comeback. I’m kinda sad for their fate and feature cuz one of their members(kaylee) has been on hiatus for 9 months too.
basically what many had said, vchas concept is like jojo siwa, middle schooler-esque while katseye seems to have a more adult theme that’s more familiar to a western audience. i will say vcha still has potential as i do think a couple of their songs are catchy & they can dance.
That is what I love katseye they are so diverse! In culture, nationality, and personality in each members that's why they are so unique, and most especially they get along very well and they are so funny love them ❤
@keqingchan2549 Diversity includes white people... and Vcha only has one white member. Katseye isn't really more diverse anyway, if you take out Lara and KG they're essentially even since Manon is so light and that would make their demographics pretty similar. I give more credit to JYP to choosing the most talented girls that competed as well. I really don't think Katseye will ever live down the fact that voters insisted on voting for Manon based on looks unless she's starts getting better. Missing her cues, and putting less effort into things like the sped up dancing challenge stick out to anyone that have been pointing out her lack of skills the whole time. I actually think how pretty she is makes her mistakes stick out more, on top of her fans ignoring the mistakes to say she's doing the best of the group 🙄
@@NickaLahAll KATSEYE members are more talented than VCHA for sure, and they bring a lot more individually to the group. VCHA lacks star quality; the members need more training and are not able to connect to wider audiences globally. KATSEYE stands out and outshines them in every way. The group is already full of talent, and Manon brings the star quality with her deep vocals and stunning visuals. HYBE knows how to choose and market their talent well, highlighting their uniqueness. JYP, on the other hand, rushed VCHA’s debut, which flopped miserably. Kendall, for instance, doesn’t excel in anything and seems to have been selected just for her looks. Manon brings a lot to the table, and KATSEYE is well-balanced in talent, beauty, diversity, and star quality, where VCHA falls short.
@@NickaLah yes and no if we want to get technical, two of the members of katseye are half white and they have different nationalities. Some of them have more than one running through their veins and I see why people say they are diverse where if you’re looking at the case of JYP’s girl group Vcha other people might have mixed feelings on it or say otherwise. And when it comes to them, they don’t have diverse in skin tones. They’re just considered the cookie cutter girl crush same skin tone, K-pop groups that you’ve been seeing going around for years. So I could see where people are coming from and besides, y’all could argue about that there isn’t enough white girls in girl groups, but let’s be honest there’s other groups out there that has white members in there and the K-pop industry or other groups it’s just that you guys are just not paying attention nor do y’all care to pay attention. And last I hear, didn’t they give everybody a chance to vote who they wanted for that group? Otherwise, it might’ve been different who knows it would’ve had more white people in it Asian, then somebody that looks like man Lara for all we know.😑
one thing ab hybe is that they’ll have great promotion to a group they care about and they’ll understand current trends and produce short catchy singles that includes the trends of the times
Vcha girls are gorgeous too and just as talented. They aren't the supermodel vibe, more like girls-next-door gorgeous, and it's their concept. The only reason they haven't been as popular is because they just aren't promoting or posting anything. It's been dead silence for over 6 months, yet you guys talk about them nonstop, comparing two groups that are nothing alike. The only thing they have in common is that they're both global groups from big companies.
I had a lot of hopes for Vcha and its sad that they ended up like this I also didn’t expect Katseye to be this big but Im so happy cuz they all deserve it❤
"Foreign fans" just have a hate boner to everything related to hybe I'm into kpop since the 2nd generation and hybe is the only company where every single debuting group got mad hate trains for nothing. Even before hybe was hybe. TXT Le Sserafim NewJeans TWS literally all debuts were so overhated and you could see kpop overseas fans trying to find some hate reason that will catch
yes I've been waiting fore something like this..... analysis of the gg, not a review of katseye docu that happened 2 years ago... thanks for this, make more videos like this im a new fan..💜💜💜
I don't usually stan groups just because, but Katseye is so eye-catching and fresh, I was invested. I feel the Netflix documentary also helps a lot into solidifying who these girls are and where they came from, also its way more accesible to the average netizen as opposed to JYP's survival show, which in all honestly was much more Korean coded. I loved VCHA when it debuted but it got boring fast too, it feels like they're recycling concepts for TWICE when I look at their material.
I actually liked VCHA more and would like to see a more wholesome group for kids/teens because it’s not in the market. But JYP doesn’t know how to manage groups consistently, and he gave them too many flaws which is why they look terrible compared to Katseye(who has clear direction) I wish JYP would stop making so many groups that they cant handle, such a waste.
Imo there’s 2 major factors: 1. The ages. Kaylee being only 13 when she debuted is going to put a lot of people off the group as a whole, including myself, as the general kpop community becomes more and more opposed to minors, particularly minors younger than 16, debuting. Especially with some of the situations and drama that’s been happening recently. Iykyk 2. HYBE is just more synched in with global trends, aesthetics, connections, etc. They’ve been more global-focused as an overall conglomerate than JYPE and have a leg up in that area.
The immature concept explanation doesn't 100% work because both ILL-IT and Newjeans have charted very high on US streaming charts. I just think the lineup doesnt have enough star power, I mean even some failed potential Katseye members like Marquise Emily n Brooklyn feel like they have more it factor than the VCHA members. JYP just wasn't strict enough when the auditions were happening.
Here’s the thing, when it comes to NewJeans case, it’s their style of musi. if you pay attention and put these music side-by-side, don’t think they have anything in common but their style because of their music Vcha cannot compare to NewJeans. NewJeans will appeal to westerners because their style of music Vcha it’s been told this several times is just too Disney for people to even glimpse at when it comes to new jeans. I work in the hospital and the nurses be listening to NewJeans on there radio. When it comes to Vcha probably not, so far I haven’t heard them playing their music, maybe to settle down the kids when they’re giving them their MRI or CT and that’s about it that I can think of.🤔🤷🏾♀️
not all cute concepts are the same, this type of generalization is exactly why JYP is failing. illit's version of a cute concept gives coquette, fairytale, dreamcore. newjeans while also sharing some elements with illit, mainly have a nostalgia concept which is pretty trendy right now. they also both have great aesthetics with music that can appeal to a wider audience. baltimore club, RnB, garage, DnB, and house music are not the genres you think of when thinking of kidzbop music. Vcha on the other hand has none of these similarities. their concept is as the video said closer to jojo siwa, hot pink, late 2010s/2020s style with outfits that look like they are from the claire's rack. their music is straight up pop. if they were a kpop group, they would be classified as teen crush at most, closer to twice, itzy or lightsum. they honestly remind me of UHSN visually.
I think jyp just needed to see it from the perspective of a teen who grew up in America. Even when we were 13-14 nobody liked kidz bop cause it was cringe. It was mostly the kids who listened to it like 4-9 year olds. Also, the disney phase died afer they stopped making quality stuff back to back so that's not popular anymore. I just think jyp tries to make concepts that were popular like 10 years ago mainstream again but it's a new era. If vcha had a different concept that made them not look manufactured, then things might've been different. Cause rn it takes 1 of 2 things to get popular. Either be talented as an artist(not just a performer, actually write lyrics with meaning, and have a good voice, and aura), or be pretty with a solid image. Vcha could've did the latter, but they were missing a solid image. Their concept simply went out of style a decade ago.
I totally understand the excitement around KATSEYE and why people see them as the next 'it' group! They have a fresh concept, great performances, and are really engaging with fans. It’s clear they’ve got a lot of potential. That said, I don’t think it’s necessary to put down VCHA in the process. Every group has its own path and challenges. Sometimes it’s just about timing or concept misalignment, but that doesn’t mean VCHA is a flop. Both groups can coexist and appeal to different audiences. This is all about diversity, so there’s room for everyone to succeed in their own way!
VCHA can absolutely make music that isn't "childish", XO Call Me still has the "safe lyrics", since the members are mostly teens, yet it has a mature, like it sounds like something that Ariana Grande would have released in her My Everything album
I think some companies should debut more people of age 18+ than minors -18. like a high percentage of people in a group that are of age than people that are not of age. if it’s a global group I feel like it should also be more toward marketing to the western hemisphere that is more of a mature audience than simply kpop which is youthful and kiddie.
Ya’ll Vcha fans are about to attack me but look at my point Vcha sounds like Kids Bop and for me that’s the mere truth imo and the training was not even close to Katseye’s training tbh Katseye’s training was like going to the gym 24/7 without a break, Vcha became an old thing pretty quickly they vanished and we forgot about them, JYP must stick to the trends but also be original if he wants VCHA to succeed (how to promote a group JYP, take notes from HYBE) Vcha is honestly not a global group it’s Just Americans with a Korean if I’m not mistaken but Katseye has a whole package of different cultures & ethnicity which is the opposite of what Vcha is, Katseye is uplifting & talks about women independence if you look deeper into their songs which is what the western market wants compared to Vcha that talks about idk but yeah, Katseye dropped 2 singles & and a mini album all in one period of time! THATS HOW TO PROMOTE A GROUP, I honestly forgot about VCHA even before KATSEYE’s debut, JYP sucks at promotion maybe VCHA could’ve been where KATSEYE was or expanded more than KATSEYE since they had debuted like a year earlier (correct me) but yeah! VCHA is under trained let’s be honest KATSEYE took more than 2 years JYP needs to fix himself, he can’t even promote VCHA and he wants to start a Latin Group or something like that WHAT A JOKE
@moodykiss JYP said VCHA is NOT a global group. It's an American Group. He has plans to make a European Based Group for Europe (E2K) A Latin American Group (L2K) And he has VCHA (American Group)
Katseye fills that YA girl group void that is missing in the industry right now. Theyre the perfect new mix of Cheetah Girls/Pussycat Dolls. I feel bad for vcha for sure. I could tell from jump it wasnt a thing JYP could nor really wanted to manage. JYP doesnt know how to do well in a market that isnt Korea. You said it too - the west doesnt want a "disney girl group". Its why twice didnt even really make a splash outside of Korea with their US songs. It sucks too because vcha girls are really talented. They are just stuck with a company that cant manage what they were put together for.
I just think that VCHA should have been a Kpop Group rather than an american. I mean thats what they look and sound like. At first, i liked that now a Western group makes K-pop sounding music, but it doesn't work, at least with the cutesy concept. It kind of makes me sad that they flopped since i actually liked some of their songs.
I'm absolutely obsessed with #KATSEYE (not in a weird way) but they're so cute and mature at the same time, they're refreshing to both Western and Korean music and concepts.
VCHA is outdated in terms of music and style. A decade ago, they would have probably thrived during a time when the tween/teen idol era was still popular. However, today's teens and tweens are not really into that anymore. I grew up during the 2000s-2010s era of Disney Channel and Nickelodeon when the teen idol era was at its peak, but that time has passed, and the market just doesn't have a place for them anymore. Hopefully, they can rebrand and evolve.
JYP said VCHA is NOT a global group. It's an American Group. He has plans to make a European Based Group for Europe (E2K) A Latin American Group (L2K) And he has VCHA (American Group)
It's gonna sound mean to say but another big thing that Katseye has going for them is that the girls are beautiful in a mature way. Vcha's girls are attrative but in a cute little sister way, I feel like even if they changed their music to better suit western audiences the image they have could not change to suit it because it wouldn't look right? IDK it will be a challege to find a middle ground that works for them. I'm interested in how JYP handles their comeback because as we have seen with Itzy it only takes a couple lackluster comebacks to compelety divide the fanbase and lose public interest.
JYP needs to start putting a minimum age for any group they are forming outside korea (or within kpop too) hoping they will debut girls at least 16 and above.
The main issue with Vcha is that they're too young. Mainly because of Kaylee tbh. I would've never debuted her. She limits what the other girls are able to do. And the A2k age limit didn't even allow young adults to audition. They wanted minors specifically, which doesn't make sense market wise or labor laws wise. Let's be real, tween n teens don't gravitate towards age appropriate music or visuals. They like girls who look older and cooler. Like the cool big sister
I just got into katseye seeing their mama performance, it was soo ICONIC, Ive been in kpop for more than 10 years and Ive never been able to truly stan girlgroups bcs i found their content boring but with Katseye i found my self laughting so hard. I knew Vcha first but lost interested later bcs of the childist concept and lack of the feeling that they were a group. With katseye i feel they are one i see their stage and its on fire, i feel their effort, vcha stage is lacking on presence even though the girls are talented. Lara, Daniela, Sophia, Manon, Megan and Yoanchae fighting 🎉!
The problem is that JYP doesn’t really market other than a few interviews until their groups set off. The problem? Groups like Stray Kids and Twice both as a whole and as individuals stood out within the industry. VCHA, while they have potential, don’t stand out enough without external marketing. As you said, they need interviews, they need collars, they need to be shown off in another way. JYP needs to start marketing them even before they take off, since while I love VCHA, they really can’t market themselves since they don’t stand out. The Katseye members are very out there and confident, while the VCHA members only have some of that quality. Yes you can see it in them, but it’s not out there enough? Katseye seemingly has made similar content that VCHA has, but they are more popular. The difference? How they hold themselves up. I think VCHA really does have space, even with their current concept, in the west. But, they really need to find a way to stand out and hold themselves up more.
The fact that you dislike vcha’s songs doesn’t meant that their songs suck, you are not simply their target, and that’s okay, no need to be rude about it ( I’am not even a fan of vcha songs too )
@@Lo_o77777 or maybe your just not mature enough to understand, the difference between a bad song from a good song. The songs are trash, thats a fact. They havent achieved any success or none of them have them have been critically acclaimed. No discredit to their talent cause they are talented but end of the day… the songs are bad, if you disagree then you clearly have bad music taste.
If you like Kidz Bop from US, then you would like vcha. Lack of Promotions, marketing strategy failure is killing vcha. BUT, is there an untold story behind JYP n the girls ? we don't know, it could be a conflict of their contract or sth.
I just heard of vcha 3 days ago. And they were to disney for me. I couldnt get into their 3 singles. I love me some katseye though. Watched their netflix show & everything. Ive even put katseye on to my coworker's. We're all 30 + to 😂
With Vcha I think they’re appealing more to a younger audience while Katseye is appealing to a variety of different age groups. Vchas songs are catchy and they can definitely improve and do wayyyy better if everyone puts in the work (not just the girls). While on the other hand Kayseyes songs aren’t only catchy but they have a spunk and type of style that’d normally be heard in girl groups during the early 2000s and it’s super refreshing to hear that type of music in today’s music culture.
for me it’s how katseye looks like a more solid group like every member stands up and look like they clearly belong there. with vcha the group feels disjointed(? like it’s lacking something to give that wow factor that katseye has
I personally don't mind VCHA's cuter concept even though I'm older. However, I do agree that VCHA could benefit from switching up their sound. Maybe not going mature right away as some of the members are still minors. But, just something different from the songs they have initially released. They could also benefit from promoting more, which is difficult because US TV programs don't have music shows like Korea does. Perhaps have the girls do live streams on RUclips, Instagram or even Weverse if they ever get on there?
Okay i feel like people in the comments are being a bit harsh i mean vcha may not have the ideal concept but shit talking them and saying rude things isnt nice espically since we dont know whats happened to them its jit the groups fault if there left unactive
Honestly, it's disheartening to see Vcha being neglected despite their talent. However, it seems that JYP and Republic Records may believe that their investment in promoting the group isn't yielding favorable results. This issue largely comes down to promotion strategy and market targeting. HYBE and UMG have a broader international reach, while Vcha focused on a younger audience, whereas Katseye aims at a more diverse age range. Both groups have diverse backgrounds, but the fact that Katseye has a Southeast Asian member adds to their audience reach and social media presence. Moreover, JYP/Republic Records is promoting Vcha like a K-pop group with only international members, while HYBE/UMG emphasizes Katseye as a truly global group.
That documentary showed how corrupt music execs are. Unnecessarily created tension and drama without thinking into the future of how it would actually affect team dynamics. Thank list they’re doing great.
I really did Stan Vcha. I fell in love with the girls and their talents through the survival show. thats what kept me around. but from the disappearance of them to no updates to their listeners, it simply made me forget about them.( out of sight out of mind) I still have hope for them and their success and I hope we hear from them soon. ❤
but they just debuted right? Y’all expect groups or soloist to instantly become popular when half of our favorites didn’t instantly become popular either but they are now years later
I feel like Katseye feels more truly global, while vcha felt like a standard kpop girl group in its music, styling, and makeup. Katseye isn’t styled to look Korean, so I feel like that diverse image is helpful
honestly speaking katseye reminds me of a gen z pussycat dolls only difference is the members actually get along thank god
And they all get a chance to sing lol
And it's not another case of Nicole + back up dancers
Omg same it also remind me of pussycat dolls! Their song my way remind me of pussycat Dolls stickwithu idk why but the members also give that vibe! That's why I love them ❤
@@keqingchan2549 omg sameeee
yes! i think once yoonchae is old enough they will probably delve into a concept like that since they were training in heels dancing as trainees. also, is it just be or does lara look a little bit like nicole?
It’s simple. Hybe researched the market well. VCHA looks and sounds like kpop. While Katseye may perform like kpop but they look and act like western GGs and their songs are not childish.
Exactly. To be precise, VCHA is like a foreign girl group forced to sound like Kpop. Something that woefully does not sit well with both the Korean and international market.
Braking News: Hybe is a korean company
@@justmytwocentsdontgetmad i really tried to like their song but as a global GG fan for so many years since the 1990s, i can’t imagine VCHA songs as the global sounds. Their choice of songs, the beat, the chord progression are Kpop coded. Global GGs have their own distinct arrangement and beats and VCHA doesnt have those elements.
@@kant.68 no one said otherwise
The fact the youngest member of VCHA was 13 years old just doesnt sit right with me. What was JYP even thinkging.
i think they flopped partly bc kaylee had to go back to high school (as she should)
As someone who watched the show... it was partially because she's Korean and because she was one of the most stable vocalists. Which, if a 13 year old is one of your best vocalists... casting probably needed to do a better job
Also the reason is to grab Korean audience and she can definitely get wow she is so small so talented and grabs and get soft corner in Korean audience he thought like that but it was failed
Kaylee fit in like " Crayon Pop" style more than fit into vcha.
wasn't she 12 on the show ??
Its abundantly clear that JYP did not plan his group and just heard that Hybe was doing a global gg and rushed to put his group out before hybe did . With katseye, you can tell Hybe did their research on what look , styling and music is more ikely to break into the western music market .
I love Vcha but I feel that way too. JYP rushed things and now the girls are being affected before they've even been out half a year.
@@minnimu2023Ikr! It’s like JYP is rushing to debut their global gg just for the sake of being “first”. Like JYP also trademarked the name L2K (meaning they will highly likely also do a Latin survival show.). L2K = Latin (might be South America to Korea
No one cares. Both are still overly manufactured products.
No one cares. Both are stiII overIy mnufactured prducts.
No one cares. Both are stiII ovrIy mnvfactvred prdvcts.
The title is harsh but true. This is why I found it funny when people were saying VCHA would be more popular than KATSEYE because i knew the opposite was gonna happen
to be honest If I had to show a western friend "touch by katseye" id be ok, but I would be sooo embarrassed to show any Vcha song to them
@@mariasol1545Vcha concept is too childish, it’s likely because most of the members are super young, western teens are more matured
Because we thought it would happen like that but people forgot they were under Republic Records and they are known to put their artist in a dungeon if they flop. Just look from September to March how much they were promoted but since Only One "flopped" a little, they said bye.
@@peonyf4iry Katseye’s debut song sounds like a kidz bop song. Touch should’ve been the title track
im pretty sure that katseye is almost (or gotten more) subscribers than vcha now on yt (idk about other platforms ill check in a bit)
Anyways, I reveal to you the chorus for 'Unreal':
Lara: Babe you know it's unreal,
I just told you how I feel,
but all you wanna do is conceal,
don't rush it take your timeeee,
you'll find that self looooove....
Sophia: Babe you know it's unreal,
you wanna hide, what's the deal? (LARA: what's the deallll?)
Why you strugglin' to keep it real?
You know it's 'bout tiiiime, you find that self looooove....
I hope y'all liked it! It's just an idea so don't take it too serious ofc ofc.
11m now
Idk but i like debut. My fav song on their EP
i'm honestly quite sad vcha flopped, i have watched a2k since the beginning, and the girls are actually very talented. if jyp gave them the marketing that katseye had and a more mature concept then they would be for sure big. but overall i js think katseye is better.
my bias for vcha is KG hehe
True, like the girls have less than a few months and are so in sync that looks like they've been doing it for years
yup, the 2 main singers in vcha sing better than katseye
They were doomed from the moment the lineup was formed, imo. Visually, they look incohesive and lack chemistry. Even with a good concept I don’t think they would be received well
@@englishbladewhat....
@@englishblade don't lie... lara by herself eats up everyone in vcha
Your analysis of Vcha was why I couldn't get into them. I felt like they were an American version of Twice. I wish them all the best though.
JYP didn't make room or wanted to make room for VCHA. Because he really thought that the group would make room itself lmao
You mean republic records
Yeh whoever. Is just sad, those girls are teenagers with a head full of dreams still and is so sad this the first exp they have in the industry
it’s really unfortunate because i think vcha makes pretty good songs but they feel like k-pop songs. youthful concepts and youthful sounding music really only gets attention in the k-pop scene. western audiences are not able to connect with vcha. in my opinion the problems started all the way back when the lineup was revealed. i followed a2k and i liked the girls but they don’t look like a girl group. and debuting a 13 year old was a horrible idea. katseye has 1 minor in the group but at least she’s about to turn 17 in a couple months. everyone katseye fits together and is style appropriately. nothing is overly sexual but it’s not childlike either. vcha’s identity needs an entire re-work. because the tween audience doesn’t exist anymore.
@@mangarda i actually agree. cuz currently their in this weird middle ground. i think they could make really fun summer songs.
I thought y'all wnted kpop to go global???
The drama of the documentary made me check them out and now I've been on a katseye binge. If that was hybes plan, they got me good lol
Every realty show got some drama.
This is basically the foundation of reality shows.
But regardless of that, when you bring together a group of people with different stories and personalities, it's impossible for some drama not to happen.
I'm glad Hybe is smart to do that, bcz I'm checking out the group now and watching their mvs and everything.
yeap, I think they researched and unterstood that this kind of show and marketing works very very very well specially on american audience. Just check their reality shows, every participant are humiliated at some point and seems the script always creates intrigues between each other...
Difference btw katseye and vcha
Reason why Katseye gained success quick.
-Mature concept that fits western standards
- Songs have western GP appeal
-Their vocals are diverse and every member can sing great
- members have diverse skin colours and ethnicity not just light skinned(They understood what GLOBAL gg meant)
- Good Marketing team is smart that understand their audience.
-They got more American promo before Korean promo
-Interesting personalities
-Hybe and Geffen took 2+years before debuting this group ,not rush work
Problem with Vcha is
-Not enough diverse skin colour and ethnicity in the group .
-Their Songs sound like Kpop cover songs
-No western appeal
- Vocals are good but some members have basic vocals
- Poor marketing team
-Marketed them to Kpop audience more
- Jyp rushed the formation of the group ,the members had little training prior to their show.
Couldn't agree more
I agree but like Manon is literally light skin, but your point still stands
@@CrystalCat-yt7kl but it's not like manon is the lightest member of the group so i still think they have better diversity than vcha
@nightingale4786 Diversity includes white people, which Katseye is lacking. Plus, if you're going to make it a weird competition of skin color, where has everyone been while Fatou has been in the kpop trenches for years.
While y’all were comparing them, vcha were getting emotionally and physically abused. Just shows everything is a competition these days…
I remember seeing the girls of Dream Academy for the first time and thinking “yeah, they will definitely be more successful than vcha” hybe understood that gorgeous, strong and confident women actually open global doors and not a childish group of teens
I don’t even know VCHA existed, but I’ve been hooked on Katseye since the documentary dropped.

for a kpop group yeah, but for a western artist that is not that much .

vcha stans swore up and down that katseye was going to flop just cus a2k had more clout than dream academy well well well how the tables have turned lol

💀 No hate to the girlies but there's SO MUCH JYP needed to fix.
fr
fr
Also, NEWJEANS was right there as well as an example of a different way to appeal to the west! Cute but, cool.
and its not like its hard not to give these girls a less mature vibe and can still be a bit on the cutesy side i mean look at newjeans and illit.
I'm hoping for a rebrand for them.
the difference is the visuals and charisma. KATSEYE is oozing with them. their songs are quite catchy as well. and they got Sophia.
yeah they got Sophia .... 👌
They got real talents
Lara is the main vocalist

"JYPE is still doing auditons for new groups/trainees..."
That's the problem right there. Jyp isn't focusing on what he currently has and just always wants "new, new, new" and "the next Twice".
Honestly, the company shouldn't debut any new groups or do any new tv singing competitions for the whole next year of 2025, so not until 2026.
Jyp has sooooo many groups he can put songs out for:
-Twice
-itzy
-nmixx
-niziu
-vcha
-stray kids
-day6
-2pm
-nexz (niziu's boy group version)
-AND, in my opnion, if they really want to make a gasp react in the kpop world, re debut back Got7 back under jyp for a 3 year contract or something. (I say 3 years because if the idea flops then it won't be so bad)
The company seriously doesn't need any more groups or "the next big thing".
Idk why everyone aside from division 1 isn't fired and replaced by now
Stray Kids doesn't even have a great domestic support as well they've quite literally never charted on South Korean music platforms

There’s no market for a cutesy girl group in the USA, they could be good to market to younger Koreans who want to learn about other cultures though. I think katseye takes advantage of the fact that the girls are diverse, vcha should do the same
I agree, Vcha is just as diverse as Katseye but they don't lean into it at all, especially with how much they whitewashed Camila and Savanna

In my opinion Vcha really didn’t flop, but jyp has neglected them for quite a bit. It’s been now almost 9 months since they debuted and still no comeback. I’m kinda sad for their fate and feature cuz one of their members(kaylee) has been on hiatus for 9 months too.
Vcha has everything working against them. If they weren't put on hiatus you would've noticed it. Esp after katseye debuted
basically what many had said, vchas concept is like jojo siwa, middle schooler-esque while katseye seems to have a more adult theme that’s more familiar to a western audience. i will say vcha still has potential as i do think a couple of their songs are catchy & they can dance.
No shade Vcha gives white washed while Katseye gives uplifting women of color. JYP in general is in its flop era.

I guess katseye has charisma! ✨ But sad for vcha tho
Yes that's the main factor. Even before someone listen to their songs , the visuals and charisma of Katseye already got them.
KATSEYE look like 6 supermodels and are way more beautiful.
That's it.
And way more talented
Each with tons of talent and magnetic personalities to back it up
Well it is one of the MAJOR reasons. I hear people talk mostly about their looks than their skills
The only thing they have in common is that they're both global groups from big companies.
and they have talents
I had a lot of hopes for Vcha and its sad that they ended up like this
I also didn’t expect Katseye to be this big but Im so happy cuz they all deserve it❤
"Foreign fans" just have a hate boner to everything related to hybe
I'm into kpop since the 2nd generation and hybe is the only company where every single debuting group got mad hate trains for nothing. Even before hybe was hybe. TXT Le Sserafim NewJeans TWS literally all debuts were so overhated and you could see kpop overseas fans trying to find some hate reason that will catch
This is so true the hate is way too forced and over the top.
let's start with the fact that vcha is a really ugly group name, like i actually feel a sense of ridiculousness every time i hear that name
yes I've been waiting fore something like this..... analysis of the gg, not a review of katseye docu that happened 2 years ago... thanks for this, make more videos like this im a new fan..💜💜💜
Imo there’s 2 major factors:
1. The ages. Kaylee being only 13 when she debuted is going to put a lot of people off the group as a whole, including myself, as the general kpop community becomes more and more opposed to minors, particularly minors younger than 16, debuting. Especially with some of the situations and drama that’s been happening recently. Iykyk
The Disney reject songs sounding music does turn me off compared to Illit and Newjeans but I get where you're coming from.
NewJeans and ILLIT sound more similar to western indie pop and r&b than Disney reject songs tho 😭 like PinkPantheress etc
VCHA can absolutely make music that isn't "childish", XO Call Me still has the "safe lyrics", since the members are mostly teens, yet it has a mature, like it sounds like something that Ariana Grande would have released in her My Everything album
fr I hope they do a more yours truly or my everything vibe
Katseye is also more interactive to fans! Have you seen how much they post on RUclips shorts lol
The hard truth is just that VCHA is not visually appealing for gen z. The member selection is weird, some of them look 30 while others look 12.
It looks like 3 members were forced to bring their annoying little cousins to perform with them
@@Celestialprincess1603 LMFAO
I said this when a2k ended and I’ll say it again. They kicked out all the members with the most interesting personalities & talent.
"look like a group full of knock off jojo siwa type child celebrities" 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
That was so unexpected!!!
😂😂😂
Katseye is basically being the group surviving the 6 member curse. While vcha is the one suffering from it.
I suggest you to stfu about vcha
VCHA needs better stylists imo for a more mature look
1:52 actually VCHA did surpass 1 million on Instagram but because of their poor management they lost a lot of their followers throughout the months
I watched both shows, and followed both … katseye is just better. All of them are well matched. Vcha, is underdeveloped, even their songs suck.
@@DeeRob2010 no need to get all aggressive wtf
Katseye ❤❤❤
Okay i feel like people in the comments are being a bit harsh i mean vcha may not have the ideal concept but shit talking them and saying rude things isnt nice espically since we dont know whats happened to them its jit the groups fault if there left unactive
you ate wit this
clocked it at 4:49
i love katseye, but i really miss vcha 😭
Katseye's super talented but their music is mid
Well this aged badly.
That documentary showed how corrupt music execs are. Unnecessarily created tension and drama without thinking into the future of how it would actually affect team dynamics. Thank list they’re doing great.
Honest opinion: JYP sucks at western marketing, he doesnt has that factor for the concept.
Same here, JYPE did go through all the effort(money) to debut them. Whatever the case maybe let’s just hope for an update.
but they just debuted right? Y’all expect groups or soloist to instantly become popular when half of our favorites didn’t instantly become popular either but they are now years later
I feel like Katseye feels more truly global, while vcha felt like a standard kpop girl group in its music, styling, and makeup. Katseye isn’t styled to look Korean, so I feel like that diverse image is helpful
vcha has a really strong kpop essence and vibe to them since the beginning. its cutesy and childish, giving kidz bop and disney. they should rebrand
