Our parish organist some time later gave me the keys to the 2 manual and Pedal Estey Reed organ, and about a year later I was playing it on the 3 manual Casavant in the upper Church. I have now watched all your current videos and I am impressed. God bless.

I now have a much deeper appreciation for the accordion than ever before. It is much more than a polka party instrument. One cannot feasibly take a pipe organ to play the Baroque Period by the campfire!!

Missed seeing this video when you first posted it. Excellent performance and interpretation. I am a 76 year old that plays piano accordion free bass (B system). In addition I am a long time pipe and electronic organist although I promote the accordion more because so many don't know what it is capable in the hands of a fine performer like you. The dynamics and nuances the bellows provide the artist set it apart from many other instruments including the organ and piano. To me it is similar to the bow on a violin or breath control on a flute.
Among the various comments of appreciation from this fantastic accordionist which I fully agree with, I would also like to underline the sound quality of this accordion which I would liken to a small portable Silbermann pipe organ whose timbre is astonishing. From this union I was able to listen to the divine Bach with goosebumps as I hadn't done for a long time. Thank you so much Savva Zihs

It's amazing how Bach's music comes to life in almost any arrangement on all sorts of instruments. I'm currently practising a 4-part recorder arrangement, and I landed here looking for play-along recordings. This has been one of my favourite organ pieces for long, and I wouldn't have thought it sounds so beautiful on an accordion. This interpretation is not just technically superb but it has deep emotion. Thank you very much for this video!
Thank you for your kind words. I agree with you, it is difficult to find a musical instrument on which Bach's music would sound bad. And especially the accordion, with its principle of sound production similar to the organ, and even in church acoustics).
I just do not understand the utter prejudice of so-called "Musicians" against the Accordion. As much as I love classical music, I'd rather learn from Jazz or Rock musicians as they have none of the stuff shirt formality of their orchestral cousins.
Utterly magnificent! Those German churches always have such marvelous acoustics. I read your from Latvia. My favorite organ in the world is there, which I played in 2008 at Riga Dom. I also played many of the historic organs in Germany as well and, though my focus tends to be German Romantic music, I cannot say that I don’t appreciate Bach. I just tend to prefer not to play it but rather listen to it being played extremely well. You’ve done that here - bravo!

I live in Canada where there is no tradition of baroque/classical accordion and almost no one plays the free bass accordion,nor teaches it. It is my dream to play Bach ion the accordion. They started out with an accordionist but their box player is a band one on player so you might enjoy their videos. I had no idea where your name is from so I looked it up and learned it is either Greek or from Crete. I studied on line with a wonderful teacher in Athens who started teaching me free bass. I currently study locally with an excellent teacher from Finland who will teach me free bass one day. Good luck with your work.

Es folgen bald danach von Buxtehude die Ciaconas Buxwv 159 und 160 und die Passacaglia Buxwv 161 auch nah an Bach aber Bachs Passacaglia 582 ist ganz einfach die Perfektion meine ich.Die erste Noten des Bas Thema's sollen van André Raison stammen sagen viele Musik Wissenschaftler.

Później głównym instrumentem stały się organy i tak 40 lat. Dzisiaj mam problemy zdrowotne ze stawami i brak dostępu do instrumentu. Pozdrawiam serdecznie i wspieram Pana duchowo.

I'd defy any concert pianist or organist to try to play accordion. It is a very hard instrument initially as you cannot see the bass keys.
