Yes! I really appreciate LEGO for upping their builds with more realistic yet still fun vehicles. I'm more from the model railroad collector side of things and that means working with both what is available on store shelves plus custom building.
I think the size of the truck is PERFECT. Semi's are BIG! It barely fits in a lane, just like a real truck! I think it's exactly the way it's supposed to be and looks GREAT in your city! 😊
My husband was a truck driver and I completely agree that the size is realistic and in line with semi’s. I think they were aiming for it to be a sort of statement piece, like a big logo. I do understand how some people would prefer it to be smaller, I get it. Since my husband passed away, my kids and I are getting it as a sort of memorial to him in our city, so I’m glad it’s nice and big like my husband’s presence lol.
I'm building the same truck, but slightly modified in the interior and in a different color (white). The trailer is different, for transporting logs in the forests of Western Canada...
It took me a while wandering around our huge Costco but I found it. It was way in the back on the side of the aisle by itself. Was like a treasure hunt.
The semi is a great build, I’m definitely going to get it and immediately going to be making the trailer half the length. It’s a great remake on the past Lego semi. Besides the facts, you’re right, Lego city is making a come back!
I think that the semi is just fantastic! The size is very realistic imo but I see what you mean with playability. My LEGO city is very very small (one table) so I have no space where to put it, but if I get a chance to expand it, I will definitely buy this truck. It's just WOW to me.
Agree with you on the size of the semi. I struggle getting the original one from 2010 in the city, and this one is significantly larger. Still an incredible build...this may be more of a display piece for me though. Nice review!
The excavator set is awesome, its similar to a technic set version The LEGO semi truck is awesome, I just wish it was cheaper and more affordable. The hot dog stand (while being great) shouldn't be in the set, since it doesn't really belong and drives up the cost. Maybe the forklift also could have not been included, maybe there could have been another set with the forklift and hot dog stand (it would make for a great people pack, or part of one, those sets were awesome)
This doesn’t have to do with the sets but I do have a build request if your up?, I think it would be cool if you were able to make one of those giant radio telescope dishes or whatever you call them, just a request, I think it would be kind of interesting to see
I grabbed my Semi Truck at Costco this weekend because they were selling it for 75 bucks, which I thought was a much nicer price point than the 100 bucks lego wanted for it only 200 yards away at my local lego store! :)
The Delivery Truck trailer is too long. Alex Nunes even said it was too big for his city because it can't make turns around a corner of his inner city streets. JangBricks pointed out that the actual truck has far less black below the wheel level(it's more yellow color) and the height above the truck doors are too tall.
Excavator needs some mod adjustments with it's hydraulics. It's called a excavator bucket. The hydraulic connected to the bucket extends out too short. It needs to be readjusted. The same goes for the bucket arm at the top that connects to the what is called excavator boom. That hydraulic also doesn't extend out far enough, so it needs to be adjusted as well. I don't know why LEGO didn't do this...maybe the creator has no knowledge of how an excavator works in regard to the boom/arm/bucket or maybe they simply don't care for details like that? It could have been done with almost no extra cost on their part. The same happened with Construction Digger where they didn't even give it a backhoe bucket like all it's predecessors.
7:08 I do not agree! Lego's pricing policy is absurdly disproportionate and arbitrary. Only a few greedy managers make a fortune, but the rest of the Lego employees do not. It is an intelligence test for customers that reaches new levels every year. If you're smart, wait for discounts or don't buy it at all...😏🤔
The truck is HUGE. So is the excavator. It feels like a stand alone play set. Not something that would easily fit in most cities. Sure does not fit in mine😅
That is the correct way to open the box, at least it used to be lol. I have been opening Lego boxes since 1977 and they used to have plastic tray inside that separated the parts and they always layed flat with the whole back opening. I felt the same way the first time I saw someone open the box at one end and dump everything out.
Wish they were lower... they're way too high... but in the video we're referencing compared to set prices last year (polaroid camera set for example, insane cost per brick... I know there's licensing, but still...)
Hey 👋 AFOL TV I’ve been watching you for a long time btw your channel is great, it expired me to make my own MOCs btw Your channel is great with Lego 🧱 I just really like your designs in your Lego City and great sets btw 👍 Lego Excavator: 9/10 Looks good and it can definitely fit in a Lego city/construction gave it a 9, cuz I don’t like technic but good set overall, 🏙️ Lego Lego Truck 8/10 Great set, don’t get me wrong just don’t like the front of the truck it’s just not fit in with Lego for example with the old Lego Lego Truck (2010) the sculpting of the front is more wide, while this on is more compact and more smaller,
@@AFOLTV I would have gave the Excavator 10/10 if they had made the hydraulics better in terms of more functionality(the way the hydraulics are placed, there is some limitation to how far they extend).
Are you guys excited for the new City sets as well?!
Yes! I really appreciate LEGO for upping their builds with more realistic yet still fun vehicles. I'm more from the model railroad collector side of things and that means working with both what is available on store shelves plus custom building.

It's definitely a nice size! I think for our city we would have preferred just *slightly* smaller, but overall love the build

@@baurdavid6924 awesome!!
Agree with you - city is going the right direction with these sets. Hopefully it isn’t a one off year and this is the future.
You are still earlier than most of the other RUclipsrs with reviewing these sets. Good job 👍
Thank you!
my costco had a pallet of the trucks for $75 in store. You can get it online for $85! $75 is way better pricing!
Picked up the semi at Costco for 75 and my son absolutely loves it.
Good price for it!
It took me a while wandering around our huge Costco but I found it. It was way in the back on the side of the aisle by itself. Was like a treasure hunt.
Need the same style truck, probably more Peterbilt style for an Octan Tanker. Another one for a car transport.
I can confirm that as of a few days ago, my Costco in PHX had the semi for $75
I like the truck, but I would MOC it into two box trucks and keep the opening sides.
That excavator looks absolutely 🔥!
I wish we didn’t have to wait until August for the Mobile Crane.
The semi is a great build, I’m definitely going to get it and immediately going to be making the trailer half the length. It’s a great remake on the past Lego semi. Besides the facts, you’re right, Lego city is making a come back!
Was thinking of making it shorter as well!

You can make a business empire with both the new and old LEGO semi trucks. I love LEGO city.

Pls do a series on converting 8 stud speed champs to 6 stud for those who want to have them fit in a city! Love your work.
I think the hotdog stand needed to not be printed due to what has been seen in the past with how white doesn’t print well on red pieces
Do you think you can make a modification to the semi truck to turn it into a European truck?
wow~ good product
Great review and build - Can't wait to get both of these LEGO Sets for my channel - Awesome Job!
They should make a truck like that but the size of speed champions thet would be dope
Costco has the delivery truck for $75 if you find it in-store and $85 online.
This doesn’t have to do with the sets but I do have a build request if your up?, I think it would be cool if you were able to make one of those giant radio telescope dishes or whatever you call them, just a request, I think it would be kind of interesting to see
They call it the “bucket”.
Realized that after filming 😂
How does no one notice the disproportion of tracks and rotating body of excavator? Either tracks are too small or body is too big...
@AFOLTV I just built the excavator and it was a great build, but I had to call lego to get stickers. Did you get two extra track pieces?
Weird - ours came with stickers, and we had 3 extra track pieces
My stickers were bent in half and half them were off the sheet. Wired two sets had issues with stickers.
I grabbed my Semi Truck at Costco this weekend because they were selling it for 75 bucks, which I thought was a much nicer price point than the 100 bucks lego wanted for it only 200 yards away at my local lego store! :)

For me I feel like the front of the semi truck could have used more work we I don't really enjoy it . The trailer looks good tho
The fact there all those printed pieces in the Delivery Truck set, might explain why the set was given a $100 price tag. Thank goodness for Costco...
Yes it's repetitive when it comes to building, but that's so common in Lego sets... Just build the repetitive sections at the same time.

Are you gonna do more kits on the website like any cars you made?
Working on additional releases, but also need to sell through the initial run to fund the sourcing!
okay
Make thanks
Three stickers. The tv in the sleeper cab is a sticker.
idk about you, but I'm planning on recreating the opening scene from the original fast and furious movie with the truck
Costco has the LEGO Truck for $75
Cool video can you build ukraine and finish the la and build new york city

Haha right! I think the excavator will fit ok, but the semi is very large
The excavator is a little bit old fashion because of the long motor hood and short underwagon, otherwise it looks great.
It's called a bucket bud
Easy enough
Who the hell opens a Lego box like that?!? We’re you dropped on your head?!?!?
We use the boxes for sorting parts… opening that way creates a tray… pretty common in the community.
That is the correct way to open the box, at least it used to be lol. I have been opening Lego boxes since 1977 and they used to have plastic tray inside that separated the parts and they always layed flat with the whole back opening. You must be kidding when you say Lego prizes are ok……
Wish they were lower... they're way too high... but in the video we're referencing compared to set prices last year (polaroid camera set for example, insane cost per brick... I know there's licensing, but still...)
Tbh its overpriced but way better than the sets lego city has been releasing for years. Especially the 4 plus sets.
