- Here's an old 200A we restored inside and out. I stalled our Variable Vibrato and Tube amp. We even topped it off with a custom Red lid.

It's called "Easy" from Lionel Richie and The Commodores..1977 I think is when it came out. It's the first song I ever learned to play and I actually learned it on a Wurlitzer just like this one in 1978! If you want to hear more of their great songs of that era just do a search for Easy-Lionel Richie or just type in The Commodores...they had many great hits like Brick House,Sail On, 3 Times a Lady etc..& of course Lionel Richie's career followed after the '70s.with huge hits as a solo artist...
I honestly love Supertramp and the way they used the Wurlitzer was just sublime. In my opinion, they used it better than anyone else.
Clarissa McPigeon Check out Kerry Minnear from Gentle Giant. Amazing Wurlitzer (and Clavinet) player.
sam lurquer Aspirations, Power and the Glory, and Free Hand are some great tracks
I love Rick Wright's Wurly in Floyd songs. while not technically sophisticated, he used it wisely. that wah-wah Wurly in Money for instance. very cool. he mainly played funky stabs complementary to some of the more groovy sort of Floyd numbers.
Very little of what Floyd did ever really was technichally sophisticated, but you said it best: They just really had like THE most solid wisdom on their instruments. They knew how to milk those tired blues licks for all they were worth.
I was coming here hoping but not expecting Supertramp to be played, but the first chord he played was the first chord in Goodbye Stranger and sounded spot on in tone
This video should indicate who this guy is. He's amazing on the keys!!! Fantastic job, nameless dude :)
jamo2006 this is my guy(my husband) ! his name is Fred DiLeone in Hamden,Ct
0:09-2:20 That's why I'm easy... I'm "Easy" like Sunday morning.
So much a part of the defining sounds of the Seventies. I love this instrument.
Incorporates everything wonderful about psychedelic rock: vibrato, fuzz, and most importantly, soul. RIP electro-mechanical keyboards...
+Slick Sludge They are still about just not used as much today due to stupid modern technology.
I remember feeling so jazzed about the second generation of Rhodes pianos. I thought they were going to be here to stay. But alas -
Vintage Vibe makes "clones" of Rhodes, Clavinets and Wurlitzers, but they are still different in a good way.

Such a smooth and mellow sound.
I love this instrument, and I definitely owe my interest to Supertramp!
Vintage Vibe always does good with their restorations. They're great, I just wish I could afford to have them restore mine.
Just love the Wurly sound.
The Wurlitzer is my all fav sound of electric pianos!
One of my favourite sounds in the world
Rhodes, Wurlitzer - legendary super musical instruments!
Absolutely exquisite, thankyou. A lovely, warm and comforting 70s sound to ease my soul.
This is timeless.
To be completely fair, it pretty much has a miniaturized grand piano action inside it. All wooden components except the resonator and reeds. Yes, reeds instead of strings. I can say that they have a beautiful, absolutely beautiful sound when heard in person. Though mine needs some TLC and a few new reeds.
So warm and chill, love it...
Such sound. Great video
A very sexy instrument, and the playing was beautiful. Thanks for uploading this!
One of the great, great sounds, could listen to this instrument all day.
beautiful
"Easy" sounds amazing on that piano. Great playing.
Love this tone. No wonder why the wurly is a classic.
wow this sounds fantastic.
Wow, I love the red finish.
love the sound
Its beautiful!
Amazing!!! You are so talented bro! Keep up the good work! And thanks for sharing this video.
Thats beautiful 🙌
outstanding! thank you for posting.
This is a great video. Fantastic playing!!
Outstanding!!
nice playing, nice tone
Ótimo vídeo congratulações
SUPERTRAMP!
Beautiful sound!😍😍😍😍😍
beautiful!
I love the red!
incredible!
It's so good
Brilliant!
Lovely sound to this instrument. I'm pretty sure it was used in Crystal Gayle's "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue" to very understated effect!
Fancy schmancy paint job. Looks just dandy!!!! Sounds great too. Ya done good!!!
man,, i love how this guys plays,, i dont know who he is,, but,, man,, that is such a nice tune!!! Sounds great!
Rick Wright of Pink Floyd rocked the 200A better than anyone
Dylan S What about Ian McLagan?
SO SGT PEPPER TOOK YOU...😍 Nicky Hopkins‘ Wurli
Zaki.....on the road...all gear was painted "stage black". Even the Leslie's... Donated the Wurlitzer to the school board... Even the wooden legs.... ;)
Play that wurlitzer my friend..:):)
Came here because some obscure soviet group called Rok-Atel'ye had one apparently.
I'm not surprised that such a beautiful instrument managed to find it's place everywhere in the world.
Sweet!
just got one of these on ebay at a steal, wendy the wurlitzer her name is, its due for a service this week, will upload some videos
bad ass! i love the driven rhodes piano, but this even more!
Nice Wurli!
Bravo! Bravissimo! :)
Playing Awesome... Wurly restoration - Great! Easy Like Sunday Mornin', Bro! :^)
My church gave me gave me one of these when I was about 16. Sadly it doesn't work right and don't how to play but I've always loved the sound
How the heck can I get my 200A to sound like this? It's so clear, and that bark on the lower notes so pronounced! Mine is mud in comparison.
All restorations vary from piano to piano. The only way you can get an exact estimate is by bringing it into our shop so we can take a look at it.
If your near Nashville.. We at Seale Keyworks rebuild Wurlitzer 200,200a and Student. Student conversions turn out really cool..
Look us up.
it would be nice to hear some Three Dog Night, they used the Wurlitzer a fair amt
Makes perfect sense. I used to be in the business of fixing pro audio gear but nothing as involved as those pianos. It's simple to replace the silicone contact strip in, say, a Korg keyboard, but the Werlitzer.... You definately got your work cut out for you! :-D
Oh oh it's magic, you know?
wurlitzer's have that slightly stronger sound than a rhodes. to be honest i would have a rhodes or a wurlitzer 200a in a heartbeat. both are great electric piano's. i dont like plug ins on software rather have the real thing.
***** nice an organic not computer based
Hell, if you had a Mk1 you could almost jimmy rig yourself a wurly with a decent chorus pedal and some tasteful delay. Wouldn't be quite the same but it would do the trick.
Or even layer them.
@Rick Delair bro, don't care about how you acquired your toys.
Forever...
does this model have an instrument/line out? Sounds amazing!
Dedicated to Milan Williams
😍😍😍
Sweeeeet!
My favorite sound in the universe and I can't even play a note.
LOL same!
Was thinking supertramp dreamer when I heard this
This was awesome, except the colour is wrong. Did you mod the internals somehow? ive got a Wurly but mine doesnt sound this good.
even had one of the black wooden ones.... ;)
Amazing tone!!! Has this been modified in any way? My 200a is not as buzzy/fuzzy sounding as this one.
I think what you're hearing is mic distortion actually.
Got to wonder if somebody is in there seller at this very moment, trying to build something identical to this piano.
where can i get one of these in this exact color...? possibly for less than $2000.
why does this sound brighter and more distorted than mine and like it has tines??
edit.. sorry, I commented too soon. This is really what that mod sounds like?? wow
I hear ya. Mine could use some new felts, hammers, you name it, it needs it.
@dino0469 thanks, I remembered right after I posted that comment. It was driving me crazy. I've never heard it on a wurlitzer before.
where can i get a wurly. very hard to find in canada
Anyone know where we can download this keyboard sound?
Which Wurlitzer Model would have been out in 1971 was it the 200A
But does it have MIDI output?
"Garbage" pffffffffffffffffff .... -_-
Who needs MIDI when you have real sound and real talent?
It's me or it happened to someone else to start singin' along with the music? I'm sure my neighbour' thought I am a dork singin' to a karaoke. Poor them. Or poor me.
Impassioned caterwalling is a beautiful thing.
Was this repainted? I know that they made some red ones but is this repainted and that is what is meant by custom?
I find the top too glossy for me. But the color is what I would want for mine if I had to change.
エレピはいいなぁ~。
Chocolate sounds of 200a
Just curious... What do they want for a restoration...
I doubt it. Man can achieve anything he really wants. Anyway what matters most is who plays the instrument.
Good bye stranger by supertramp has the same sound
You gotta tell me what the song name is.
I have many keyboards with many virtuals wurli, but i want a real model.
What's the name of this song?????
Name this music is: easy like sunday morning lionel richie
The Commodores* Lionel Richie's version was a cover
they say that time's a healer
bootyful.
Wurlitzer vs rhodes🤔 go
Easy
Fuck this video makes me want one so bad... I guess the next $1500 I get is spoken for.
Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick! $3000 for a Wurly!? 5 years ago, you could find them for $300! What happened? Should have bought one when I could afford it :/
Mine was green....had to paint it "stage black". Great sound ..but couldn't use the sustain pedal... It sat on my "B". Those of you who had one know what I'm talking about.
+nytom4info You painted a green one black? The green ones are ridicolously rare and worth a lot of money these days :o
+Zaki Wasik xD I've just cringed inside myself.
Some of us are in it for More than the money...you'll find it at the music department of the county school board....I donated it... ;)
