I grew up during the Rhodes era. Musicians all over the place played it. This is still an instrument of importance. Nothing sounds like the dream like versatile Rhodes electric piano. I hear it in my sleep. God bless Mr Rhodes, he changed music for the better permanently.

I thought my nord, korg, and Yamaha sampled rhodes was just as good, then I picked up a 1974 fender rhodes, I feel like donating my 3 sampled keyboards to the goodwill!
The nord piano voices are pretty sweet though.
Is the suitcase more desirable than the stage model?....do i have more options with a stage model?..am i limited with the suitcase model? What if i want to change to a tube amp?

Rhodes 73s are so cool. As a guitar player I appreciate the dynamics of it. Harder you play the more distorted it sounds. Sounds awesome with the tube amp.

I just googled “what instruments were used for the doors song riders of the storm” and this instrument came up and this was exactly what I was looking for. I could listen to this all day and night. I was heading to the music store to buy a new Ukulele today so I’m checking these out for sure

Grab a Yamaha Reface CP. It's a nice start if you dig rhodes sounds. Nords and Korg SV-1/2 are one step up

when one plays for a long time, from young age, the spread of the hand increases.. try gettting your thumb an pinkie, aligned horizontally, can be trained and stretched.

What year Rhodes is this?
sure is a clean old Rhodes. so many of these were beat/trashed to death by the 80s and a lot of them had a spongy or sloppy key action which was unpleasant to play. a lot of the wurlitzer EPs had crappy actions too. but once in a while, you could find a good one.
