    I've tried out a few of these so called neck coolers. None of them worked in the summer outdoor heat. They are OK for exercising in indoor environments. The best neck cooler that worked for me in the outdoor summer heat was a silicone horseshoe shaped one that you fill up with water and freeze it. Take it out of the freezer, put it around your neck and it REALLY cools you off while working in the yard or taking a long walk. Only costs $30.00 too. Lasts for 2 hours and is AMAZING!

    • @kikixchannel
      @kikixchannel Месяц назад +26

      That's the fault of a 'fan'. A fan can only cool you up to a certain temperature point. Past that, and the moving air is only going to bring fresh 'heat' to you.
      That's why some of these have a cooling pad which should work in higher heat, and depending on how it's built, also provide some cooler air for the fans themselves. Although obviously it wouldn't be a miracle worker.
      A silicone one with frozen water can be dangerous. Your neck absolutely should NOT be frosted. In fact, the temperature difference between your neck and the outside air shouldn't be too large to begin with, otherwise you may suffer from thermal shock. You may feel significantly cooler, but at some point you may start suffering pain, stiffness, dizziness and such.
      This effect can be so significant that some more sensitive people leaving shops with AC on too low of a setting into the scorching heat of the outside air may pass out.
      So, while I'm fully in agreement that a block of ice isolated from skin on your neck does help cooling you down, it needs to be used smartly. It's absolutely not something anyone can use without any consideration for anything.

      @@kikixchannel Seems like a little hyperbolic on that warning.
      AMZ or the usual have non-toxic gel pads that don't freeze solid and will conform to the neck/shoulder areas nicely and are worth the $20.
      Never heard or saw anyone dropping to the ground or staggering around like a drunk....
      If the freezing is too cold you could just store them in the cold fridge, or get maximum cooling/duration by slapping a thin piece of $1 store cloth on the underside where it rests on your neck to just prevent constant direct contact.

    • @billtinnell2206
      @billtinnell2206 Месяц назад +5

      @@TheYellowrose21Totally agree yellowrose! The towels with the ice pockets work very well compared to the super expensive neck coolers. All these neck coolers with a fan are a joke! They are ONLY good in indoor conditions due to health regulations. You MUST have some kind neck cooler that contains ice if you are in the outdoors! You can always buffer it with a scarf or thin towel if you find it too cold which should never happen. I absolutely love, love, love my neck cooler that you fill up with water and freeze it. Lasts 2 hours, costs $30.00 bucks and is a hell of a difference in summer outdoor conditions.

    I purchased the Comlife on Amazon on 7/7/24. Amazon offered a $30 off coupon. With tax the total was $105.49. I waited to test it under actual conditions on the following weekend. The Comlife was FANTASTIC!. I helped a friend at an outdoor market for two days, temperatures were in the upper 80s in the Upper Midwest and high humidity. With frequent breaks in the shade after heavy exertion and I could not have been more impressed for the price. After 2 hours on cool setting and low fan it was still at 66% power and it took less than 30 minutes to charge to 100% with a Milwaukee M18 Top Off power supply. I used it for 2 days and it was FANTASTIC for the price. The best part after getting back home I am ready to watch my favorite RUclips Channel and Project Farm is testing neck fans. Talk about a perfect ending to a perfect weekend! Another product I purchased for the trip since we were camping onsite was the Dudiffy Portable Air Conditioner cooling fan CF6r6R. I think it's worth mentioning that the Scurry style fans can be adjusted even more than ChillGo, directing air vectors to exactly where you want it to go including angles to avoid the eyes but still getting your cheeks or forehead. It can also be placed on a table. There are also versions with significantly more airspeed and runtime, e.g. HandFan 10000mAh

We have a battery-powered O2 Cool fan that uses 8 D-cell batteries. The fan will not die! Batteries easily last over 24 hours. Bought a case of D-cell batteries at Home Depot a few days ago. Power company is finally fixing the downed pole in our neighborhood, so may have power tonight! Modern car seats have sealed leather. Basically has a plastic coating on it for durability. Which also means that regular leather cleaners and conditioners are useless. Just make sure whatever you use, test it on a part of the seat that isn't visible to make sure it doesn't damage it. I've always just used diluted degreaser like Purple Power and a soft bristle brush. Just make sure to wipe off any residue with a clean damp cloth afterwards. I've detailed cars since the late 90s.

      @@ProjectFarmYou know what, this would be more effective out here where I'm at in the socal high desert. It's very dry and sweat does act as a coolant when evaporating.

    You are the best. Thanks for your channel. I’ve been a heat casualty a few times and my bodies internal thermostat is no good. I don’t get cold but I run very warm and I’m an alcoholic so I sweat very easy. Im a maintenance man and I spend a lot of time fixing ac’s and on roofs. I’m going to be trying the go chill out.

    None of these are air conditioners. I hate it when they mislead people about these pieces of junk.,
